My teacher used to say my writing looked like ‘hanenpoten’ (“rooster legs”). It is a Dutch expression for a scrawly script. When this script emerged, it had ‘scrawl’ written all over it! Scrawlerz is a messy script font with a lot of joie de vivre. Enjoy!

Richard Jones designed Princetown, an all caps font with strong, geometric letterforms, in 1981. Princetown's design was inspired by college and university sportswear, with its blocky forms and heavy outline. La Carte Pen is a paper textured version of the popular La Carte font. Inspired by a series of handwritten menus produced in 1980, La Carte is a stylish but easy-to-read script that sets as well in body copy as it does in headlines.

Fnord is a contemporary humanist serif typeface, it is ideally suited for display purposes, titling, headline copy and branding. The family has been designed to be highly versatile, containing a total of 23 fonts. Each font features discretionary ligatures, swash alternates and true small caps. The overall design is clean and simple with a little bit of rebelliousness thrown in for good measure – Fnord does not conform to the traditional serif blueprint. Fnord’s design has been strongly influenced by the complex, thought-provoking and mischievous works of authors Robert Anton Wilson and Robert Shea from the 1970s. I was re-reading their work while sketching the initial letterforms and realised that some of the proportions and angles were coinciding with some themes that run through the books – particularly the numbers 5, 17, 23, 40 and 93, which are key to this font family’s spacing and geometry. I found it both very interesting and enjoyable to play with a specific theme and purpose for creating this typeface. I am sure you will enjoy working with it in your own design projects. I grew up with the ‘Save The Whales’ slogan: I remember watching the news and seeing little Greenpeace dinghies taking on huge Japanese whalers, and activists clinging on for dear life. I haven’t heard that slogan for a while: maybe because whaling is soooo 1890’s, but also maybe because the world has other problems to address. Out of respect for the ‘Save The Whale’ activists, I named this fattish font Whale Song. Whale Song is a robust comic font. It was especially created for book covers, product packaging and posters and, of course, it comes with a whale of diacritics.

The Stephenson Blake foundry in England, made two fonts, Flemish Expanded and Flemish Condensed. In our view, one was too wide, the other too narrow; so we redrew it and renamed it Brussels. Why not? Belgium is one of the few places where you may still hear Flemish spoken.

Some time back, a few basic characters were drawn out (possibly inspired by some vintage sheet music) and set aside for a future font project. Despite being incomplete for a few years, this once-forgotten design is now available as Deco Revival JNL, in both regular and oblique versions.

Netherland Perpendicular, a family of five typefaces, is Greater Albion’s end of year Blackletter release for 2015. It is designed in the fine traditions of Victorian Revival Blackletter, where historical veracity is ever sacrificed to aesthetic calm. The five typefaces share uniform metrics, making for charming colour overlay effects.

A 1927 travel poster for visiting what was then Palestine and Near East was hand lettered in an early Art Deco thick-and-thin type face. The lettering was redrawn digitally, and is now available as the aptly-named Travel Poster JNL, in both regular and oblique versions.

Jaquizaca is hand drawn type to go well with vector illustrations. Jaquizaca was created in 2001 to make inter-titles for a TV-programme. After twelve years it was revised and updated with ligatures, contextual alternates and other OpenType features. It supports all the European languages using Latin alphabet.

Based on the Morris F. Benton for ATF in 1920, it was not completed for production until 1926. The serif version we released a few years ago was so popular, that we decided to design a complementary sans serif version in three weights, along with three corresponding Swash fonts.

Westpart was born from the previous three brush fonts: 1. Northen, 2. Easttalia and 3. Southen. This font is part of the 4 directions that cannot be separated. It has a styling brush that is very different from before, because the Westpart has its own advantages. Westpart has a bonus splatter, ligature, and swash that has a very detailed brush effect. Laureen pro typeface Laureen pro is an Arabic typeface that has a very particular appearance. It combines the characteristics of different genres; most notably the contrast of serif faces. Defect Scam could easily have been a name for a punk band. But it's not - it's the name of my stencil wannabe font. But, it was inspired by a combination of some punkband's LP cover and the vibes of that genre of music - but not overdoing it by making an obvious punk font! HU Sansans KR is a San-serif Korean fonts. It is a solid and trendy full square typeface that contains powerful and bright energy.
