Francesco Canovaro created Bakemono as a way to explore the design space around the duality of fixed/proportional width. He was also interested in the concept of monowidth design, inherent in monospaced typefaces, that can bring flexibility and ease of use also to proportional type - allowing you to change the weight of a word without losing the text alignment. In his research on fixed width type design he mixed the lessons of mechanical typewriter technology with the intuitions of eastern brush calligraphy, which has been dealing with for centuries with fixed space grids. The name of the typeface comes from the Japanese shape-shifter yokais that could change their form freely between human and animal, and aptly describes the metamorphic nature of this wide superfamily coming in proportional, monospace and intermediate subfamilies. PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: Price Didone has inspired a full alphabetic font - Mastadoni, so if you're after more than numerals, head over there! Price Didone is a font with a singular purpose: The setting of elegant, stylish price tags. As such it is non-alphabetic, featuring instead numerals, a large array of currency symbols, and a smattering of typographic niceties such as quotes, brackets, pilcrow, daggers and a very curvaceous ampersand. Certain currency symbols that are not independent glyphs (Q, Ft, kr etc.) are included as their constituent letters, some of which also have automatic ligatures for that little something extra. There are currency symbols included which have not (yet) been accepted to unicode, such as the Russian Ruble and Bitcoin symbols. For ease of access, these can be typed using the standard ligatures feature. See features below for the full list. Quote marks and typographic symbols can be used for decoration. Everybody loves a nice ampersand and this is one I'm really proud of. Or you might just want some pretty numbers for your house, or sports jersey, or just to stand out a little from the rest of your text. Whatever use you may have in mind, go for it. And do let me know if your currency symbol isn't included, and I'll quickly add it to the glyph set in future versions.

When was the last time you listened to elevator music and found yourself humming along? And perhaps the tune you were listening to, got stuck in your ears for the rest of the day...the rest of the week? That's often what happens with elevator music: maybe you don't notice it - but it is there, and it could most likely be one of your all time favourites! :) My Elevator Music font does somewhat the same: it's nice and pretty harmless - but it works, perhaps even without you noticing! :) I've added 4 slightly different versions of each lowercase letter - and that goes for both Regular and Scratch versions. And they both have multilingual support, because elevator music is universal!

Ultra Condensed is a three-font family with a full character set. Ultra Condensed is a remastering of Tall Skinny Condensed from 1999 which continues to be a favorite. While similar, the fonts are not interchangeable. Shapes of some letters have changed, kerning and spacing are different. Tall Skinny Condensed does not have a full character set. Ultra Condensed Lettered is a hand lettered version of the hard edged Ultra Condensed. Ultra Condensed Line also hand lettered, is a thinner version of Ultra Condensed Lettered. These three fonts work well together or with a non condensed font, great for headlines at a large size. Works well for lots of copy in a small space.

Piercing is part of a series of typographic experiments from the young Swiss designer Michael Parson. It is not only coarse but extremly black, and it is quite right to name it Black Letter in English. Ernst Schneidler, the designer, created the smallest possible counters. Still, this very coarse black letter is sensitive in detail and drawn with a high level of aesthetics. By the way, it was said in Schneidler's design class in Stuttgart that his number one student Walter Brudi had cut some of the characters with �silhoutte scissors� from black paper. Machin is a French word meaning 'thing'. Apparently, it is also a species of macaque from the Philippines, but I named this font after the French word! Machin is based on a really old font I made back in the day. It was called Whynot and (because I didn't know a thing about making fonts at the time) I could not get it to work properly, so it had its 15 minutes of fame before it was pulled off of the internet. Machin was made using the recycled glyphs from Whynot and it does work. It comes with extensive language support (yes, Vietnamese and Sami too), some handy ligatures and a lot of scribbly panache.

Aurore Grotesque is an elegant, robust geometric sans for both text and headline. This is similar to Bradbury Thompson’s Alphabet 26, except that Thompson’s goal was to create a text alphabet free of such redundancies as the two different forms which represent the character “a” or “A”, whereas Filosofia Unicase does have stylistic variants to provide flexibility for headline use.
