The letters and numbers of a home movie titling kit from circa the 1950s or 1960s called the Magna Tech Titler Number 312 were die-cut from cardboard with a magnetic backing and were styled after Futura Bold. The user of this set composed the desired title or phrase onto a metalized board and the result was photographed with their 8 or 16mm camera. Because the dies of the characters were handmade, very slight variations in the shape and stroke width of the lettering would occasionally occur. These variations were incorporated into the design of the digital type face. Intermediate JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Bodoni Classic Deco is against all rules. Giambattista Bodoni himself would probably hate me for doing it; he was a real purist. The whole idea of the Bodoni typeface is no embellishments and here I go and decorate those nice clear letters. Shame on me! But I find this is a very nice and useful typeface for all kinds of cards and certificates. So I just did it for all of you out there that are not born purists, but want a little embellishment to their lives. And to make things worse, I added a Small Caps cut. I even decorated it. Enjoy! Découpé Based on a French children’s play from 1906. In a car boot sale André Toet found a funny looking box containing a lot of cut out cardboard figures, in fact it looked a bit like a geometric puzzle! He played around a bit and succeeded to create a workable typeface with it ! The interesting thing about this particular font is, that in fact it’s organized chaos. The 26 letters of the alphabet are a mix between caps and lowercases, so within one word caps and lowercases will be used next to each other. It’s a very useful font for different projects. The origin of AM Floriana is already several decades ago. Ad Lib designed by Freeman Craw for the American Type Founders (ATF) in 1961. A bold Grotesque with irregular rectangular counters in round characters. This type was designed by cutting the letter images out and thus has some wood-cut character. Some lower case characters have slight inclination. Initially numerous alternative characters were provided. Unusual shapes make this typeface useful for advertising and display work.

The Olaus Magnus and Olaus Bandus alphabets are inspired by the letterforms cut in the pictures and wood-cuts of Olaus Magnus great book Historia de Gentibus Septentrionalibus. This great history of the Nordic Peoples was printed in Rome in 1555 in his own printing shop there. Olaus Magnus, Catholic priest and appointed archbishop by the Pope, never returned to the now Lutheran Sweden.
