Originally designed in 2012 by Ryoichi Tsunekawa, All Round Gothic is a font family inspired by classic sans serif fonts such as Avant Garde Gothic and Futura. Font designed from that used in Bamberg by Albrecht Pfister, in early years of printing, exactly for a book titled "Ackermann Von Böhmen" writen in old German by Johannes Von Tepl, and decorated by a lot of splendid colored carved woods. This font include "long s", naturelly, as typically medieval, but any abbreviated characters, and, curiously no german "ß", no more than "W". (The only one I did found where a hand drawn one.) In addition, the "k" have not a German gothic form. Added, the accented characters, no longer existing on this time, and capitals when was a lack. A render sheet, in the font file, makes all easy to identify on a keyboard. This font is used as variously as web-site titles, posters and fliers design, editing ancient texts... This font supports as easily enlargement as small size, remaining readable, original and beautiful, especially in capitals.

In 2006 the art director of Emotion, a women’s psychology magazine, asked me to design a copy typeface for them. Before I actually got the job I started to work on a serif. I wanted it to be feminine but still clear and modern. On one hand there are the floral round elements and on the other hand the angular serifs. In the composition I wanted the two extremes to work together. All the other elements had to be harmonized. The proportions needed to match the magazine’s requirements. The ascenders and descenders are short enough to work in narrow columns but long enough to work in small sizes. As you can imagine, the emotion-job never happened. Verse is now a serif and a san-serif with 7 weights with italics and smallcaps. In copy you should not get heavier than Heavy. Extrabold and Ultrabold work best in display.

Quatre is a clean, friendly, monoline display script with a number of subtle but significant features. Originally based on the style of cursive you may or may not have been taught in middle school, Quatre has a clean geometric flow to it while containing a robust set of OpenType features such as ligatures, swash capitals, and stylistic alternates that give it a unique look. With over 700 glyphs, coverage for over 30 languages, arbitrary fractions, contextual alternates and more, Quatre will have you covered for whatever situation you may run into. I mean, probably. I can’t know every single weird way you might be trying to use it. The point is, it’s got all of the bells and whistles you could reasonably hope for. Make sure you open up the OpenType panel in Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign to make use of all of those features.

I am a HUGE fan of Bernard Cornwell’s ‘The Saxon Stories’. Ever since a television series has been made, the series of books is also know as ‘The Last Kingdom’. I have read them all, at break-neck speed and I can’t wait for the next book!! Wintanceastre (Winchester) is based on a 10th century Latin manuscript. I have tried to stay close to the original letters, but since Latin does not have all modern glyphs, I found myself designing the missing ones. So, before you scold me for having made a font that is historically inaccurate: it was never meant to be an exact replica, nor would anyone want an exact replica, as it would be useless for modern texts and designs. Wintanceastre comes with a whole bunch of ligatures and alternate glyphs. Use it for any design that needs a little ‘Dark Ages’ look!

Superb is a new typeface based on real brush pen script and also influenced by lettering shapes from the sixties and seventies. The font includes various swashes with volume and curls.. Fans of Comicraft have made a lot of noise (HELP!) about the availability of ready-to-wear, factory surplus sound effects, not unlike those made available over a decade ago in our extremely popular and raucous ZAP PACK. It may sound impossible (WHA--?!), but Comicraft's Sonic Specialist, John JG Roshell, locked himself away (CLIK) in our top-secret SFX lab forming Onomatopoeia at high speeds (FWOOSH) and extreme temperatures (BBRRR), and sounded out over One Hundred (GASP) of the loudest (BTOOM), most intense (UNNGHH), squawkiest (KRAKK), discordant (SPLANGG), dissonant (SQUTCH) -- as well as dulcet and restrained (THWIPP) -- sound effects ever conceived (WOO HOO!) Helpfully arranged in alphabetical order (YIPPEE!), this Library of Onomatopeia -- the ONOMATOPEDIA, if you will (DING) -- is now available for use by the general public. WARNING: Comicraft Sound Effects may explode on contact with skin (AAAH!); please use protective clothing and eyewear when handling the Onomatopedia.

Woven is a geometrical typeface based on a simple tessellation or tiling pattern. The template for the letters has both vertical and horizontal symmetry and the tiling pattern has four-fold rotational symmetry. Variations of this pattern are popular with quilters and most have a woven look to them. To fit the letters into the template results in some distorted letters but it is the pattern that matters, not the individual elements of that pattern. With proper spacing, a block of text will fit together both horizontally and vertically. Woven is intended to be used with alternating letter sets and the OpenType feature of contextual alternatives does this automatically in applications that support it. The upper-case could be used alone but it unlikely that the lower-case characters could be used by themselves. The typeface is hard to read and would make a challenging font for word-search puzzles.

The inspiration for the Okaytext family came from seeing so many fun, highly individualized special-use fonts. Alongside this massive selection, the choice of simple, plain & readable typefaces is relatively spartan. As a newly established foundry, we feel it a "must" to contribute our very best work to this important but oft-neglected genre of fonts. So the construction of the Okaytext family began. We feel that a rounded, sans serif font should be easily read, and very clean looking. It does not need to tire the eyes with any needless twists or silly quirks. So is Okaytext, it exists simply to be read, and hopes that it is a pleasant read. Okaytext is perhaps our most versatile font yet, its ultra-simplicity makes it adaptable to the demands of almost any typeset environment. Okaytext is extended, containing the complete West European diacritics & ligatures, making it suitable for multilingual environments & publications.

Oxford Street is a signage font that began as a redrawing of the capital letters used for street nameplates in the borough of Westminster in Central London. The nameplates were designed in 1967 by the Design Research Unit using custom lettering based on Adrian Frutiger’s Univers typeface, a curious combination of Univers 69 Bold Ultra Condensed, a weight that doesn’t seem to exist but which would flatten the long curves of glyphs such as O, C and D, and Universe 67 Bold Condensed with its more rounded lobes on glyphs like B, P and R. Letters were then remodelled to improve their use on street signs. Thin strokes like the inner diagonals of M and N were thickened to create a more monolinear alphabet; the high interior apexes were lowered and the wide joins thinned. The crossbar of the A was lowered, the K was made double junction, and the tail of the Q was given a baseline curve. K-Type Oxford Street continues the process of impertinent improvement and includes myriad minor adjustments and several more conspicuous amendments. The stroke junctions of M and N are further narrowed and their interior apexes modified. The middle apex of the W is narrowed and the glyph is a little more condensed. The C and S are drawn more open, terminals slightly shortened. The K-Type font adds a new lowercase which is also made more monolinear so better suited to signage, loosely based on Univers but also taking inspiration from the Transport typeface both in a taller x-height and character formation. The lowercase L has a curled foot, the k is double junctioned to match the uppercase, and terminals of a, c, e, g and s are drawn shorter for openness and clarity. A full repertoire of Latin Extended-A characters features low-rise diacritics that keep congestion to a minimum in multiple lines of text. The font tips the hat to signage history by including stylistic alternates for M, W and w that have the pointed middles of the earlier MOT street sign typeface. Incidentally, Alistair Hall (‘London Street Signs’, Batsford, 2020) notes that when the manufacturer of signs was changed in 2007, Helvetica Bold Condensed was substituted in place of the custom design, “an unfortunate case of an off-the-peg suit replacing a tailored one” and a blunder that has happily since been rectified, though offending nameplates can still be spotted by discerning font fans.

Frederic Goudy designed this blackletter face based on Gutenberg's 42-line Bible. The Lombardic Caps were designed as an accompaniment to Goudy Text and are offered paired with the lower case as an alternate option. Clarinetist Milton ?Mezz? Mezzrow (1899-1972) was a remarkable jazz musician, as becomes evident upon reading his autobiography Really the Blues.
