The original name for Ambigue was “Confidence”. This font family received the first prize at the German Kurt Christians-Foerderpreis in 1997/98. Its interpolated weights offer a subtle differentiation in the grey levels. A special “Small” weight is available that offers better readability in very small sizes. The font I made based on the Greek alphabet used by the Karamanlı Turks, who are Orthodox Christians, by adapting it to Turkish, which I deduced by looking at the inscriptions and translations. In order to write in Turkish, Turkish special characters are loaded with letter combinations and sounds. But it can still be easily written in Greek.

And the best and tastiest way to grill a burger is on a wood charcoal grill. So all in all we can safely say that burgers and wood are a pretty darn good combination. This made Donald Roos decide to design VLNL Woodburger, obviously based on 19th century American wood type alphabets. Donald decided to add cyrillic characters, as he strongly believed that Russians would be equally partial to home made burgers. VLNL Woodburger is not really polished font, it will give any design a rough sturdy edge.

Thebes is a font based on an ancient Coptic script. The Copts are Egyptian Christians, and theirspoken language is a dialect of ancient Egyptian. Their letters, however, are Hellenized andresemble the Greek Alphabet and do not have any relationship to hieroglyphics. Thebes comes with full punctuation, a character 535 glyphcharacter set that allows the user to type in most Western European Latinalphabet languages, Cyrillic, and Modern Greek. Being a decorative font, it works best at larger point sizes.
