Ciseaux was inspired and is dedicated to the art of paper cutting. Early paper cutting artists were often royalty, but it soon became a folk art practiced by commoners whose cutouts decorated their homes. By the seventeenth century it had spread throughout the world. The Japanese called it Mon-kiri, the German's Scherenschnitte and Turkey even boasted a guild devoted to the art form. In Poland the designs were traditionally symmetrical and often used layers of colors to form pictorial collages. When Russian invaders confiscated scissors, villagers were found to cut their intricate designs with sheep shears! The art form later developed into cutting out elaborate designs of nature scenes and people, celebrating special occasions and even decorating legal documents. Ciseaux letterforms mimic paper cutting art in its shapes with a rather loose and almost joyous rhythm. The overall effect is somewhat earthy and natural yet it has an element of sophistication that cannot be ignored. Just like paper cutting, Ciseaux can be used for special occasions like invitations, brochures, identities, restaurant menus, and if you dare, some awesome looking paper graffiti. Electrical Tape is a mono-case display type. The idea came from generating custom letters using pieces of electrical tape. The over all design was then influenced by the graffiti subgenre as well as a hint of constructivist influence. Recommended applications of the font are for display purposes as well as digital media.

Afronaut PRO (New version of typeface published in 2019) was inspired by vernacular Latin & Arabic typography in St. Louis (on Senegal-Mauretania Border, Africa). Geometric forms working well and contrasting with smooth, round elements. After reading "Afronautics – from Zambia to the Moon" by Bartek Sabela (about Zambian conquest of space) a breif was set to create typeface that looks like mix between: vernacular Arabic script, futuristic typography and some special lettering that I found in Africa during my travels to Guinée, Bissau, Gambia, Senegal, Mauritania and West Sahara. Afronaut has seven weights, also many letters have 3 different forms. Afronaut PRO can work as regular version of my Yalla Typeface.

“Greuceanu” is the the name of a brave romanian fairy tale character and his mission was to eliberate de Sun and the Moon that were stolen by some Dragon like creatures that in romanian folklore they are called “ Zmei”. It inspired me to create this decorative uppercase display typeface with strong influences from old cyrillic writing and also a touch of fun and geometrical construction explorations. Besides Extended Latin Support it includes also Cyrillic and Greek alphabets as you already can expect from most of DePlictis Types releases. This decorative typeface goes well for use in book covers and headlines and only your creativity is the limit of its usability.

Paper Cube font family is the first font I've created. I unconciously started to draw letterforms with straight horizontal and vertical lines contained in a square. Soon this experiment became a 3d outlined display family of 3 weights, each one of them gaining depth and articulating into planes. Designed in Cuenca (Spain) in 2011.

A fun, informal font, drawn with a mouse, Chalk emulates the spontaneity of handwriting, but with a thick, bold flair reminiscent of a school chalk board. This was the designer's first attempt at an unstructured font design and has proved to be popular enough that followups, such as Pumpkin Pie and Wordplay soon followed.

Inspired by monospaced letters, Britonix is ​​designed with normal spacing but seems mono. When the conditions are met, a heart is attached to the capital letter. It feels soft and lovely. Hand lettering from the 1958 movie poster for “Vertigo” (designed by Saul Bass) was the inspiration for the digital font Sinister Undertones JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions. The quirkiness of this irregular, squared-edge sans – despite its simplicity – perfectly captured the mood and drama of Alfred Hitchcock’s film production.

Evening Edition JNL pays tribute to the ever-decreasing line of daily newspapers in this country by emulating the "wood type" look of the headlines. Way before the Internet took over as a popular information source, it was the morning, afternoon or evening edition of a paper that presented the big story of the day.

Abel is a modern interpretation of the condensed flat-sided sans serif. Originally used for newspaper headlines and posters, this style can also be used for text on the web.
