Steinweiss Script began its journey towards daylight when Michael Doret was asked by Taschen Publishing to do cover lettering for the huge commemorative edition they were putting together on the work of Alex Steinweiss—“The Inventor of the Modern Album Cover”. The lettering was to be created to appear similar to the famous “Steinweiss Scrawl” the calligraphy that Steinweiss had used on countless album covers. While designing this piece of lettering, Michael realized that there was great potential for a font that was designed in the spirit of that famous “scrawl”. Through his contacts at Taschen Publishing, he was fortunate enough to be able to contact the Steinweiss family, and get the official Steinweiss approval to proceed with his “Steinweiss Script” project. Michael decided that in addition to giving the font his name as an homage, that he would donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of this font to the man himself: Alex Steinweiss. Additionally, within each weight there are three variations: Simple, Fancy, and Titling. These variations relate to the size/ratio of the caps to the lowercase, the complexity of those caps, and the size of the ascenders/descenders on the lowercase characters. These variations add usefulness to the font, making it accessible not just for headlines, but for longer passages of text as well. It's been a while... more than three months we developed our brand new font. We call them "Meastro". In 1459, while visiting his dying mother, Italian painter Piero della Francesca spent seven days creating a fresco of a pregnant madonna in a small country church in the hilltown of Monterchi (Italy). Hailed today as one of the masterpieces of Italian Renaissance, the fresco was given a new branding in 2019 by Art Director Riccardo Falcinelli who asked the Zetafonts team to develop a custom font for the project. The resulting typeface system, designed by Cosimo Lorenzo Pancini together with Andrea Tartarelli and Maria Chiara Fantini as a rework of Francesco Canovaro original Beatrix Antiqua, is a 50-weights ode to the beauty of classical roman letterforms, that pairs elegant alternates and quirky ligatures with an array of design options for clear and effective editorial, signage, logo and wayfinding design. The base display family, Monterchi, allows endless design expressions with a range of six weights from the slender thin to the strong extrabold, all with matching italics and an array of over one hundred discretionary ligatures. Terracotta is a modern display font with mystical and Art Nouveau motives. The font is created in Bohemian style and decorated with swirls and peaks. Conestoga was a challenge that I took on which was to take a logo from an old antique vegetable crate label and create a complete font based on its design. The original logo was curved on a path and was caps only. The new letters were drawn straight and a matching lowercase was created to turn this old custom logo into a working font.

From alphabets created for book illustrations in the 1970s to lettering created for a book jacket in the 1990s, the Mentor family of typefaces has developed along its own slow and circuitous path. Always present in its evolution, though, has been the influence of three 20th century design giants: Eric Gill, Reynolds Stone, and Hermann Zapf, as filtered through the meticulous sensibility of Michael Harvey.

Poets and musicians flourishing in southern France and northern Italy during the 11th to 13th centuries. Troubadour was designed by using a custom brush created with Adobe Illustrator. A digital tablet was used to draw all the characters in the font. The thick and thin strokes were created by applying pressure to the pen, like jesters dancing and bouncing in the streets as the music played.

FeggoliteMono is a decorative, monospaced typeface family with a small x-height and long descenders. Two styles (plain and bold but renamed in 2020 as light and regular) were created in 1994 and revised in 2010. In 2020 a bolder bold was added along with italics versions for each of the three weights. The design was an attempt to create a decorative typewriter font.

This font, is dedicated to all the Russian and non-Russian Babushkas around the world. This font was created using a flat brush and Chinese ink. After that I scanned all the letters and numbers and created the real font. Designed by Giuseppe Salerno, in the 2011.
