“Blackduck” font is a typical Gothic, usually named “Blackletter” . This typeface was born with the name of “Textur” and developed from Carolingian cursive. It was used in the middle age as sacred script, became increasingly narrower, his vertical lines were emphasized and his strokes very compacted to save space. Along the time the early German print typefaces derived in others styles that were more readable such as Schwabacher and Fraktur, very popular in Germany and sometimes associated to the identity of the country. The font "Blackduck" was inspired mixing carefully the last two “Blackletters”. We try to joine some characteristics of both to reach good legibility without loosing the strong impact and powerfulness of the shapes. Some minuscules like the “o” “c” “e” “d” are rounded on both sides, while both strokes join in an angle at the top and at the bottom. Some other lower cases are formed by an angular and rounded stroke. This font contains a full set of OpenType features; swashes, stylistics alternates, old style figures (Arabic numeral were carefully shape integrated), ligatures and some extras ornaments were added to help in your design. "Blackduck" includes diacritic signs for Central European languages.

The signs of the Bosnian pyramids The pyramid researcher, Semir Osmanagic, began excavations in 2005 in Visoko, Bosnia, 30 km North from Sarajevo. Mr. Senad Hodocic, the curator at the local museum, pointed out at the pyramidal shape of the Visocica Mountain, which grabbed Osmanagic's attention. It is also suspected that the four adjacent hills, covered by plants and greenery, also hide the pyramids. The main sites of the excavations are called the Pyramid of the Sun and the Pyramid of the Moon, and the results achieved so far have already proved that those structures are man-made and artificial. The Pyramid of the Sun is bigger and older than the pyramid in Giza, which was built by Pharaoh Cheops 4600 years ago. Gábor Szakács, who went to the site in June 2006 for the first time, found the symbols on the megalithic blocks inside the tunnel of the Pyramid of the Sun, which correspond to the ancient Hungarian runic writings. In 1925, at the request of Barnhart Brothers & Spindler, the foundry he worked for, Oswald Bruce Cooper designed a wide selection of "screamers", oversized exclamation points used to grab attention in display advertising. The foundry rushed the screamers into production, much to Cooper's dismay. Cooper was disappointed with the final form of the screamers– they were designed in assorted weights to match the assorted Cooper series of typefaces, as well as in a variety of other formal solutions- squaredoff, incised, wavy, Tuscan, and rounded. Cooper's working design methodology was to re-draw his projects a number of times in order to refine the formal results. However the screamer project was hastily cut by the head of BB&S's matrix engraving room in fourteen sizes from the initial sketches, causing Cooper to fire off a fiery missive stating, "Everything I draw is bum the first half-dozen times I draw it; the trouble with these is that I drew them only once!" This typeface is the result of researching Cooper's original drawings and series of engraved proofs for the screamers, as well as the original Screamer type specimen. Cooper Screamers have never been available before in digital format.

A year after the tremendous success of Memoriam in the "Lives They Lived" issue of the New York Times magazine at the end of 2008, Patrick Griffin and Nancy Harris Rouemy teamed up once more to tackle the same project for the 2009 issue. This time the magazine's design concept revolved around a typeface they created specifically for custom vertical malleability, and that can play just as well in single- or multi-color environments. The result was another iconic commemorative issue that shows exotic tri-line letters merging, swashing, extending and flourishing in stunning gold, silver and blue on black on the cover, and in black on white on the inside pages. Just like in the previous year, the issue won multiple publication design and typography awards. Crescendo is that typeface, finally issued for retail by public demand. Quiller is another catch from the hot metal days, another one that managed to slip through the fingers of both the photo-typers and digitizers of last 4 decades. JJ Sierke’s Privat design from 1966 is now resurrected and heavily extended to be used by computer users everywhere. The original design was revived, and two whole new fonts were added to it - one with very unique swash caps and alternates, and one with many many ligatures and letter-combination ornaments. Quiller is a cross between brush calligraphy and very casual fast handwriting. It even has a slight Arabic simulation to it.
