Comixed RP Bold and Comixed RP Bold Outline are two new fonts designed by British designer Roy Preston and released by BluHead Studio, LLC. Comixed is a bold, condensed cap-only typeface, with a lively, animated charm. The Outline version turns up the fun factor by adding a drop shadow. Used alone or together, both are great for snappy, eye-catching headlines!

Thunderbird is an old American-style typeface. It is based on the kinds of big wood type that were popular in old Wild West advertising, which is evident through its ornate serifs, and the pointy flares that pop in and out of the centers of each stroke. Thunderbird is an all caps font and is best used in very large sizes.

Designed to be a square font that isn’t square, Pleroid takes its cues from the shape of a square when “bulged” outward like a balloon. The caps are all rounded, the verticals are straight, and it has the feel of an old cathode-ray tube monitor—just the kind of thing for a retro-futuristic view of science fiction. Belgian is a revival of an old type font from the Bruce Type Foundry of New York, Belgian was first designed as a caps-only font in the 1860s with the lowercase added in 1867. New to this classic font are the Black, Open, Inline and Distressed versions. Also new to Belgian is the addition of a Greek character set.

Stone skipping creates water ripples. This font expands by the same principle. A small, narrow base growing to the top, right, bottom and left until it reaches the shores. Inspired by Ernö Goldfinger's east London tower block of the same name, II Balfron is an imposing, all caps, one-weight typeface. Much like Goldfinger's humanist, utopian housing ideals, the font is best viewed at large scale.

Gilmore Fahrenheit is a glyphic, sans serif typeface that was inspired from early designs by the renowned English typographer Eric Gill. It was designed in 1992 by A. Pat Hickson (P&P Hickson) and Steve Jackaman (ITF) exclusively for the Red Rooster Collection. It was designed with true small caps, has an italicized geometric look, and possesses legibility reminiscent of Swiss typefaces.

In the late 90’s, there were many German cars coming into Malmö (where I lived at the time). I was blown away by the font on the license plates. So strange, so strong, peculiar – but still macho. I built the uppercase from my own photos. After this I completed the font with my own lowercase, small caps and punctuation.

Forged to be as imposing as a Norse horde ready to stampede into battle, Works great in all caps which it was initially designed to. I designed the lowercase characters to match really well with each other and the uppercase, so it works well in title case. Plus it has a great set of looking numbers and loads of extras.

Spike was designed as a Latin type family, with the characteristic triangular serifs, but with more character and range of weights than the more common latin faces available. Designed as a display face, it could be used as a flavorful text face in special situations. The complete family consists of four fonts: light, regular, bold and an all-caps incised version.

Farquharson is an all-caps display face, adapted from an early American woodtype, and designed especially for use in the book Charlie Farquharson’s Unyverse. Very eccentric, it is best used in small doses.

Inspired by Edward M. Catich’s seminal thesis on the origins of the Roman inscriptional style, such as that found on Trajan’s column, Richard Lipton’s Canto traces the path from an expressive, preparatory Brush (with Brush Open to preserve gestural details at smaller sizes), through informal Pen, to the formal Roman. Classical capitals are accompanied by Lipton’s own calligraphic lowercase, small caps, and swashes.

A hand-rendered advertisement for a leather tanner, appearing in a French book from the ’40s, served as inspiration for MVB Bovine. Using its comic sway and slightly exaggerated forms, the typeface delivers bold headlines with a wink and a smile. MVB Bovine is all-caps with a set of discretionary ligatures. It's available in versions with sharp or rounded corners.

The Grimm family is a blackletter inspired graffiti style built for headline and display. The family includes 3 variants: Grimm Regular & Grimm Curves both utilize traditional upper & lowercase letters while the Grimm Fat variation is an all-caps style. All 3 styles include initial, terminal & isolated letter variations as contextual alternates as well as a number of stylistic alternates, ligatures & other embellishments.

Larisch is a hand-lettered design by the Austrian calligrapher and teacher, Rudolf von Larisch. The original was used for the title page of the 1903 edition of Beispiele Kunstlerischer Schrift (Examples of Artistic Writing). Larisch is an attractive, casual set of caps of even strokes with rounded terminals. Except for the terminals, it is similar in style to Kunstler Grotesk. The numerals are lining or ranging figures, meaning they line up with the baseline, unlike old-style text figures. All are of equal width for setting up columns of numbers. The letters are well formed and easy to read, as you would expect from a writing master. Ligatures includes CH (123), CK (125), FT (135), LA (137), LO (167), OO (172), CO (177) and TT (181. An alternative O with underscore is provided at position 111. Friendly, but not fancy -- a very useful all-cap font.

Full of texture and regal personality, Bell Martellus was derived from a book published in 1475 by Henricus Martellus entitled “Liber Insularum.” The writing style is based on the Carolingian Script created by the Emperor Charlemagne and his scribe, Alquin of York, in the 9th century A.D. This old world lettering comes with new world OpenType capabilities, including swash caps and small caps. The James Ford Bell Library at the University of Minnesota commissioned Bill Moran to develop this font as a means of introducing their amazing collection of rare books, maps and manuscripts to a wider audience. Once the historic script was fontified by Bill, it was forwarded to Chank Co, where we added some snazzy baubles for the discriminating typographer. Everybody can enjoy the antique genuine nature of Bell Martellus, but advanced OpenType users also get extra features in Adobe CS applications.

BeachBar is a modern bold script with a sunny mood. It is inspired by, well, Beach bars, the summer and the sea, the hot afternoons with a cocktail in your hand and the sound of splashing waves. Beachbar turns our love for summer into a dynamic and vivacious font that comes in three different styles to choose from: BeachBar (connecting small letters, disconnected basic caps, ideal for text), BeachBar Alt (all letters are disconnected) and last but not least BeachBar Script (connecting letters, script-like caps and a bold set of swash capitals for more eye-catching designs). Kontrast Grotesk represents a contrast in type design based on a different principle. It was inspired by W. A. Dwiggins and his experiments with the stroke variations. Contrast in this typeface is created not only with the influence of the writing tool (the thickness of horizontal strokes in relation to vertical), but by setting the primary and secondary construction strokes of the characters (e.g. glyph “E”). The grotesque types are usually with no or minimal contrast. Having the contrast has created a new and original look of this typeface without compromising the legibility. The fonts are designed for fluent reading on the screen. A little wider proportions are specially welcome with no need for saving a space as it is in printed media. Kontrast Grotesk family consists of five weights, with italics, small caps and italic small caps. Fonts contains a range of opentype features.

Adoquin is a clean and friendly semi serif family. It comes in seven weights with small caps, wich makes it a versatile typeface. The design is based on geometric sans serif typefaces and the calligraphic features of old school models, making Adoquin a functional and warm font family. Its informal but elegant look makes it the perfect display type fitted for logotypes, book design, packaging or magazines. Its wide range of weights and discreet alternates makes it very enjoyable to read, so its also perfectly fitted for longer texts. Adoquin has an extended character set for Central and Eastern European languages, and shows all its potential wit OpenType-savvy applications. Every font includes small caps, ligatures, old style figures, fractions, numerators and denominators and alternative characters without some calligraphic features suited for smaller or longer texts (in this case, the alternative charecters are less ornamented).
