Muscle came from the original sketches for Sneakers. At the time my concentration with Sneakers was to create a curvier, chunkier display. I left Muscle behind, thinking it was too masculine. Rather than discard those original sketches, I decided to make it even heavier, reduced the total number of weights, create a function small cap system that when integrated with the lowercase makes a great biform component for short display settings.

Inspired by a retro Art Deco poster as well as many of the true classic Art Deco type designs of the 1930s and 1940s, Deco Revisited JNL is a bold, black, stencil-influenced design with no counters. Although being a contemporary design, its use in any retro project will truly evoke a feeling for the “streamline” era. Deco Revisited JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions.

A modern, geometric sans serif display font with a hint of the future and the alien. BOXDON is an extra heavy expanded typeface which was especially designed for VERTICAL layout. Each shape looks like a box and has minimum graphical treatment to distinguish each character. It means that the counter space is not enough to use this typeface for small font sizes, however, for titles this typeface should give incredible effects. I highly recommend using it with software that is compatible with vertical layout. (e.g. Adobe illustrator)

Kenwyn is a bold, geometric, Egyptian style slab-serif display font. It comes in two variations — Single Dot and Double Dot — each with an accompanying Stencil variation. Essentially a blend of circles and squares, Single Dot features a circular counter at the centre of each character, while Double Dot uses a lower and upper circle. Although the two variations are similar in principle, the results are visually quite different.

The Svati Sava font is a Latin Alphabet layout of a Serbian font. The original letterforms of this font struck me in their modern simplicity while retaing a traditional Eastern European feel and I wished to have a variant of it suitable for Latin Alphabets. To create this font I used many of the letterforms from Serbian and recreated a large portion of the miniscule alphabet. Svati Sava comes with full punctuation, a complete character set for most Western European Latin alphabet languages. Being a decorative font, it works best at larger point sizes.

Harbour is a clash of Latin and Germanic typestyles - two conflicting letterforms, culturally, politically and aesthetically. Latin letterforms have a geometric base, blackletter types are calligraphic. Harbour takes calligraphic forms that derive from writing with quills, but is a typeface that is clearly drawn‚ rather than written‚ to produce graphic, dynamic letterforms.

Milk Drops is a semi-casual-feeling cross between a didone and slab serif display font. Elegant, flourishy, whimsical and bold, as much as one font can be any or all of those things! It has highly contrasting weights, but not so much to take itself too seriously or risk legibility. Playfully, it entertains the teardrop motif wherever it can – in expected areas like the descender of a "y" and the ascender of an "f", but also in some whimsical flourishes. Many of the uses of the teardrop motif are implemented on the terminals and ears where many old prints may have suffered from bleed of ink – answering a "what if" question like "what if those accidental bleeds were designed on purpose?" or "what if a font were designed as though it was already seen through blurry eyes?" A poster for the publication “The Quartier Latin – A Magazine Devoted to the Arts” featured the magazine’s name in a light Art Nouveau serif style. The Quartier Latin was published between 1896 and 1899 by the American Art Association of Paris. This is now available as Nouveau Meadow JNL in both regular and oblique versions.

Each letter is handmade and drawn with a “blobbly” pen, leaving a wobbly and grungyline. The corners are rounded which adds a blurry look to the rough lines.
