This heavyweight poster sans is based on the typeface Samson, designed by Robert Hunter Middleton for the Ludlow Type Foundry in 1940. The slanted uprights suggesting brushwork make this face a perfect choice for casually commanding headlines. Both versions include the complete Latin 1252, Central European 1250 and Turkish 1254 character sets, with localization for Lithuanian, Moldovan and Romanian.

Here's a great old face from the H. W. Caslon foundry in London; a real workhorse. The lowercase is eminently readable, so you can set entire paragraphs to good effect. We don't recommend it for setting all caps, but we did take time to kern it well; so you won't get a jumble of ovelapping letters if you do.

Based on the all caps decorative face Fournier le Jeune of 1768 by Pierre Simon Fournier for the Peignot Foundry. This version uses more elaborate "Vouge Initials" caps which were offered by ATF in 1920s. Because of the decorative nature of this design, a full character set is not included, but accented characters and basic punctuation are included.

Free-flowing pen lettering of the Art Nouveau period took letter forms into interesting curves and angles. The style was embraced and revived by the 1960s counter-culture in its rock concert posters and record album covers. However, the source for Casual Nouveau JNL is a 1911 piece of sheet music entitled "Back to the Carolina You Love".

The 1900 specimen book of the Leipzig foundry Schelter & Giesecke featured this curious hybrid of blackletter and Art Nouveau, under the name Petrarka. Its narrow footprint and large x-height make it an ideal choice for headlines which harken both forward and back. Both versions contain the complete Latin 1252, Central European 1250 and Turkish 1254 character sets.

Otto Weisert was a German type founder who ran his own foundry in Stuttgart during the early years of the 20th Century. In 1902, he created Kalligraphia, a cursive Art Nouveau display script face. Kalligraphia has a unique stroke contrast model; the tops and bottoms of its letterforms are thicker than the verticals on its sides.

TD Tinda is a display typeface classified by its hand-lettered style infused with a pronounced calligraphic influence. Helmut Matheis originally designed Slogan for the Ludwig and Mayer type foundry in Frankfurt, Germany. Slogan is an informal script of medium weight, with some variation in color. Its caps are flowing and the lowercase letters are close fitting. A lighter, more upright companion was designed by Helmut Matheis as well; its design is named Charme.

Who needs counters? Although this typeface is bold as hell, it is still absolutely legible. If You are looking for fat curves, this is may be Your choice! Ovidius is a formal script with solid structure. Characters present a look and feel of an ancient pen to very rough paper. The Ovidius family designed by Thaddeus Szumilas is now part of GroupType, a foundry specializing in period and revival typeface designs. Ornata G is the seventh of a series of old ornaments that I am trying to save from oblivion. I am completely redesigning the ornaments from scratch. Adams is a revival and major expansion of Dolf Overbeek's Studio typeface and Flambard, its bold counterpart, originally published by the Amsterdam Type Foundry in 1946 and 1954. It is reminiscent of the sign lettering commonly found in the 1930s and 1940s. On the 6 August 1915, the defenders of the fortress, the Russian soldiers, against whom the enemy had used poison gas; though half-dead, were able to rise to the counter. Payload began as an early concept for Loaded magazine, and here is developed into a clean outline and rough splattery spraycan version. In this font, the upper and lower case characters are subtly different enabling a more realistic appearance to be achieved by ßipping between cases whenever characters occur together in pairs. Wide and Narrow styles of this popular font have been subsequently been added. This font is reminicent of military stencilling, urban graffiti and freight packaging. CA Postal is a cute and clever little stamp-font. It was originally intended for a record-cover only, but when the artist wanted all lyrics printed in the booklet, it was time for a font. The initial inspiration was a moveable-stamp printing-set, which had a nice Futura-like style, being very pleasant to read, especially in small sizes. But of course it’s the loose and irregular outlines that give the font its special charms. Paperclip Wire is a great font for anyone looking to have a straightforward yet elegant look. All letters consist of Capitals yet the uppercase letters are exaggerated. Because of the nature of the font I suggest using it in no less than 20 pt. font. However, because it is simple it can easily be read when printed. This typeface was developed loosely based on a paper clip itself. the x-height was determined based off the size ratio of the clip and the cap height was based off of a paper clip as it is folded open. The overall shape is straight lines and subtle curves, all relating to each other to allow for a constant flow of letters.

The "Zornale", is an original manuscript that contains a large amount of data, providing a daily record of the books acquired by the Venetian bookseller Francesco de Madiis, between 1481 and 1488.
