Museum Borders and Ornaments is part of a typographical treasure, the Norstedts type collection in Sweden. Type designer Torbjörn Olsson has painstakingly translated the original 34 Ornament matrices in the collection to Open Type. Among them are several of Granjon's arabesques, as well as symbols from both Swedish and Danish typefoundries. The signs were cut in the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries. The old Swedish name for these "type trademarks" were "rössjor". Museum Borders and Ornaments is an OpenType creation, for both PC and Mac. Swedish type foundry T4 premiere new fonts every month. Gina is an unbiased humanist sans. The simple skeleton of the characters and the organic strokes are essential features to the design. It is a typeface that looks to the future while keeping an eye on classic letterforms. If we have a closer look, we will notice there is a tendency towards vertical proportions. Ascenders and descenders are long, making for a light texture in small text sizes. The type family includes 8 weights and 8 italics. There is a clear link between styles, both in the structure and shape of the letterforms. The italic counterpart uses a moderate inclination and some letters adopt characteristics of cursive forms. Besides Latin, the character set of Gina includes Cyrillic and essential features for covering current typographic needs. Gina has a wonderful set of ligatures, which indeed will catch the attention of those who love connected letterforms.

In the late medieval period appeared a "semi-cursive" writing, the French "écriture de civilité". Quickly, it is carved and melted down in lead for printing. It is a very elegant running font, with numerous variants, both final than initial characters, many of the accented small characters were present in the model I was inspired by, after “Fournier Le jeune ”, in his catalogue "Modèles des caractères de l'imprimerie et des autres choses nécessaires au dit art nouvellement gravés par Simon-Pierre Fournier le jeune" published in 1742 in Paris. A render sheet, included in the font file, makes all characters easy to identify on keyboard. This font, very attractive and decorative may be used for web-site titles, posters and flyer designs, editing ancient texts, labels, greeting cards... and anything you want! Sumergible Script is a striking font that simulates it has been written with a dry pointed brush on textured paper. Its purpose is to decorate and accompany photos, illustrations and textures by letters designed with a generous horizontal spacing between lowercase which reinforces the idea of hurriedly and interrupted cursive calligraphy. Aptifer Sans and Aptifer Slab are two 21st century typeface families created by Mårten Thavenius. Each family has seven weights, in roman and italic respectively, making 28 font styles in total. A heritage from two design traditions can be seen in Aptifer. One is the robust American gothic typefaces, like M. F. Benton’s, from around 1900. This is combined with the openness and legibility that comes from the humanist tradition. The sans serif part of the family, Aptifer Sans, is designed without excessive details disturbing the reading. Its sibling, Aptifer Slab, with its wedge slab serifs is more eye-catching but still suited for text settings. The italics fit well into the text flow of the roman. Museum Fournier is inspired by a set of Rococo capitals designed by Pierre Simon Fournier le Jeune circa 1760. The matrices are part of a set imported to Sweden by J.P. Lindh in 1818 from Breitkopf & Härtel in Leipzig, Germany. They are now in the Nordiska Museum in Stockholm. Type designer Torbjörn Olsson has expanded the original 31 lead matrices in the collection to 55 characters. ITC Flora is the work of Dutch designer Gerard Unger, and is named for his daughter. He started by doing calligraphy experiments with felt-tip and ballpoint pens, and developed these drawings into a formalized script typeface. Swiss typographer Max Caflisch advised the Dr.-Ing Rudolf Hell GmbH technology firm to add a new round-nibbed script face to their Digiset type library, and in 1984, Flora was released by Hell. Unger used a chancery cursive skeleton in this design, which imparts grace and movement. Flora was also intentionally designed to be simple and sturdy, and with its minimal variation in thick/thin stroke ratio, it worked well on the early digital typesetting machines. In 1989, the International Typeface Corporation released the font. ITC Flora continues to work well on current printers and typesetters, and it has an enduring popularity for uses that range from short text passages to display headlines.

The name FeggoliteHatched comes from the fact that it was created with the help of an old font manipulation program called Incubator Pro. It was an attempt to create a more conventional typeface from the odd monospaced font, FeggoliteMono. As a monospaced font, FeggoliteHatched could be considered a typewriter face, but no typewriter ever produced letters like these. The original version from 1994 is now the italic style and it has a leftward or back slant. The upright or plain version was added much later, in 2018. There is also a choppy upright version included in this family.

Korolev Rough is an inky, distressed version of Korolev , designed to mimic vintage letterpress, photocopies or hot metal on rough paper. A 20-weight sans serif family based on lettering by an anonymous Soviet graphic designer from the propaganda displays at the Communist Red Square parade in 1937, it has been named in honor of Sergey Pavlovich Korolyov, or Korolev, considered by many to be the father of practical astronomics. Berlage is considered the father of modern architecture in The Netherlands due to his revolutionary theories on architecture and design, that would greatly influence many Dutch architect groups, like the Amsterdam School and De Stijl.

Aw, aren't they sweet? This lettering is based on a 1950s note a husband wrote to his wife shortly after they were married. The type “Vandalismo 26” is a tribute to the calligraphy style that 'screams' over the front of the buildings in the center of São Paulo/Brazil. This underground calligraphy, known as "pichação" or "pixo”, is a movement that expresses disagreement and rejection against the system. For some critics, this “vandalism” is considered to be the most disruptive and conceptual contemporary art today. It is a type to be used in headlines. Vandalismo 26 is a mix of the chaotic pixo style representing the nonconformity of a generation. It is a protest to the system in a typographic format.

Zena is an Arabetic typeface design with visually connected glyphs, named for designer’s younger daughter, Zena, for her twelfth birthday. Zena follows the guidelines of the Mutamathil Taqlidi type style with one glyph for every basic Arabic Unicode character or letter, as defined in Unicode Standards, and one additional final form glyph for each Arabic letter that can connect with other letters from both sides in traditional cursive Arabic strings. Zena employs variable x-height values. It includes all required Lam-Alif ligatures and selected marks. Tatweel (or Kashida) glyph is a zero width space. Keying it before any glyph will display that glyph isolated form, if desired. Keying Tatweel before Alif Lam Lam Ha will display the Allah ligature. The Zena typeface family includes both Arabic and Arabic-Indic numerals; all required diacritic marks, in addition to Standard English keyboard punctuations and major currency symbols. Zena is available in regular and italic (slated to the left) styles.

Mezalia Sans is a logical continuation of the Mezalia family. Its shapes are based on medieval calligraphic style: the Bastarda. This time the evolution is taken a step further, as these classic shapes are merged with the straightforwardness of a modern sans-serif. This results in an original, strong yet very much usable typeface, that can hold its own in a wide range of applications. Mezalia Sans has two distinct styles: straight and cursive (true italic if you will, although the word is not really correct here), which come in ten weights, from thin to black. This wide range ensures that whether you are looking for delicate or bold strokes (or a combination of both) you will be satisfied.
