The Logansport, Indiana Pharos-Observer dated June 12, 1917 had the following headline running across its front page: “American Steamer Sunk by German U Boat”. The condensed slab serif typeface used to set that headline has been recreated digitally as Newspaper Publisher JNL, and is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Sopi is a typography of ornaments, borders and combined frames. It was inspired by the design of limestone tile floors, located in different places in Buenos Aires. All characters have the same measure, which enables the possibility of any desired combination. In the case of edges or combined frames, the typography was programmed in a way that is possible to generate textures with 2 or more colors, attempting to rescue the colorful designs that were original thought in the limetone tile floor.

Kongress is a typeface that includes all that is needed for building a proper corporate identity. The design relies on the use of straight lines and a squarish structure for the characters, which provides the text with a compact appearance. This feature helps to save space when required by the typographic composition. The design is also defined by wide counterforms and clean cuts for the strokes. All of this helps the shapes to adapt better to digital environments. Nevertheless, Kongress is not another techno typeface. The slight modulation of the strokes—especially in the italic letterforms—and the large apertures for most characters result in what we will call a techno-humanist style. The squarish structure of a techno-font blends with the calligraphic modulation of a humanist sans serif typeface.

Boot Camp JNL has the same roots as Jeff Levine's Condensed Stencil JNL, as they were both modeled from a set of vintage brass interlocking stencils made by the Stafford Manufacturing Company. ITC Cushing has a long history. The typeface was originally designed by J. Stearns Cushing, a Boston-based book printer, and famous American type designer Frederic Goudy expanded it to include an italic weight. Under a special license from the American Type Founders, Vincent Pacella modified the design for ITC and added some additional weights. ITC Cushing is slightly condensed with large, bracketed serifs. Pacella changed the capital letters to better complement the lower case and replaced the sloping serifs of the italics to linear type serifs to produce ITC Cushing.

BrownFox was created because I saw a need for a condensed, loose handwriting - I used my trusty nylon marker to create this font - it is rough, yet thin and elegant. BrownFox has a few surprises like some serious ascenders and descenders with an exaggerated x-height. Caps are intentionally simple to maintain an even rhythm. BrownFox works very well in caps, upper-lowercase, lowercase only, small and large. This font will be useful in many applications from invitations through CD album covers.
