This Font is born basing itself on several standard typographic models. Inspired by our calligraphic drawings, the idea was to synthesize these many shapes into a unique font that can be used commonly. The slab base has been gradually humanized. The serifs have been carved, refined, rounded off, in order to galvanize the font and ease the task of reading in lower case. The angle of attack of the round letters is an echo of the 15 Century typographic heritage. It was important for us to create an expressive and humanized font, which could also be used for edition. The purpose was to confront the Ancient typographic canon of beauty with some funny and fancyful elements.

This typeface came about when playing with felt tip marker settings in Corel Painter and is derivative of my own handwriting. Up until Workstation Clutter, all of my fonts were designed on paper, then scanned or reproduced into a digital format. With the use of Painter, the non-digital steps were removed, making this the first fully-digital Zang-O-Fonts typeface. Brian J Bonislawsky of the Astigmatic One Eye Typographic Institute helped round out the character set and additional needed characters. The name was inspired by an ex-girlfriend's disorganized desk.

Park Avenue Park Avenue was designed by R.E. Smith in 1933 for American Type Founders. Park Avenue is an elegant and light script with freely drawn capitals. Park Avenues pen-drawn quality is particularly evident in the lowercase. The ascenders and descenders of this script font are long; the ascenders are bent-over at the top. Park Avenue has a small 'x' height with tall ascenders, giving the face a refined, elegant appearance. Wicked, cheeky and geeky! That's what went through my mind when updating this font. Originally made around year 2000, and now it comes in a restored and updated version. I cleaned up all curves and lines, added multilingual support and kerning. Based upon classic typefaces like Bodoni and Baskerville, but far more unpredictable and wild.
