The decades from the Swiss style, namely "less is more age" to the contemporary basic style "Less, but better age", we call it golden decades. In those decades, type design met modernism. Go back to a theory in the golden decades, we redesigned new geometric, minimal sans-serif. Less is more and better. We added cool and calm spices to the modernism in the golden decades. As a result, letterform has a contemporary, sharp, and neutral atmosphere, and geometric rounded bowls and counters create a nice rhythm. Like many cities in the Midlands and North of England, Stoke-on-Trent has a rich history linked to making and industry. In Stoke’s case it was pottery. In the early 1900s bottle kilns could be seen covering the landscape of the six towns making up Stoke-on-Trent with hundreds of factories producing some of the best ceramics in the world. But by the 1990s most of these had gone. Torn down for development of housing or just left to rot. During the next few decades Stoke continued to change. The industry was in a decline and Stoke itself was seen as another poor midlands city with a dwindling industry. Then in 2008, Spode, one of the largest and most famousceramics factories in Stoke entered into administration. Pens cast aside, drawings left half finished, designs left in the turned-off kilns; Spode factory was abandoned. This was a real shock and the way everything was getting thrown into skips to be put on the tip was heartbreaking. Thankfully people salvaged some of the technical drawings, sketch design, old sample pieces and ceramics that people hard worked so hard on. Potbank has been in development over a number of years taking inspiration from the heritage and designs from the ceramics industry. It has a mixed Clarendon and Antiqua style structure with its main purpose to be used as a printed type.

Ciseaux Matisse was inspired by the exhibition Drawing With Scissors, which I visited at the Kunsthalle Schirn in my hometown of Frankfurt am Main in 2003 and the book Jazz published in 1947 by Henri Matisse. Admittedly, before that time I wasn’t a fan of Matisse’s work, neither his late nor the early work. That definitely changed after the exhibition. While his motifs have been overused on postcards and mouspads, in front of the originals you forget those tiny pictures. Some of the works were massive—larger than 24ft. By cutting directly into the color Matisse created shapes with strong dynamics. Years later, in 2007, I used that inspiration to cut an exclusive font for a newspaper that I designed at that time (see Gallery Pictures). Later I developed that font into the four styles featured here. The cut-out style is a paper cutout; boxed is the paper background. Both linear and boxed linear have no curved outlines, so they are more aggressive. As drawing with scissors implies, all characters are cut by hand. With only uppercase letters, this font is designed for editorial use: headlines, slogans in ads, or musical usage in posters and flyers that need the little touch of the jazz scissors. In special cases the lowercase letters contain alternate shapes to the uppercase forms.

The problem with scripts in general, and brush scripts in particular, is that the majority of them cannot be set in all-caps words or sentences. So as a rule of thumb most designers try to avoid brush scripts when they know they will be entering an all-cap zone. But here comes Bruschetta, so you won’t need to reduce your design options. Bruschetta is a great flowing brush script that can be attractively used in upper-lower, lower-lower, or upper-upper settings. Bruschetta also has so much variety in its design features – original, funny, natural, friendly, legible, and even somewhat psychedelic – it just may be the most versatile brush script ever made. Bruschetta also has an historical value as the revival of the Helmut Matheis’ Contact design from 1963. Why it hasn’t been digitized until this point is beyond us! So we digitized it from original specimen, expanded the character set to completion, and even added a few built-in alternates. Bruschetta’s versatility allows it to be used in a variety of applications. It is great for signage, posters, product labels, menus, book covers, and pretty much anywhere where a friendly bold brush type is needed. The engraver Jean Jannon ranks among the significant representatives of French typography of the first half of the 17th century. From 1610 he worked in the printing office of the Calvinist Academy in Sedan, where he was awarded the title "Imprimeur de son Excellence et de l'Academie Sédanoise". He began working on his own alphabet in 1615, so that he would not have to order type for his printing office from Paris, Holland and Germany, which at that time was rather difficult. The other reason was that not only the existing type faces, but also the respective punches were rapidly wearing out. Their restoration was extremely painstaking, not to mention the fact that the result would have been just a poor shadow of the original elegance. Thus a new type face came into existence, standing on a traditional basis, but with a life-giving sparkle from its creator. In 1621 Jannon published a Roman type face and italics, derived from the shapes of Garamond's type faces. As late as the start of the 20th century Jannon's type face was mistakenly called Garamond, because it looked like that type face at first sight. Jannon's Early Baroque Roman type face, however, differs from Garamond in contrast and in having grander forms. Jannon's italics rank among the most successful italics of all time – they are brilliantly cut and elegant.

A Barnhart Bros. & Spindler type from the late victorian period. We have been faithful to the spirit of the original buy "calmed down" a few of the lowercase letters to make the lines read more smoothly.

Independence Script, designed by Alan Meeks and top British calligrapher Satwinder Sehmi, is an old style calligraphic handwritten script. The name is derived from the Declaration of Independence of which the font bears a slight resemblance.

Collette was named in honor of an art deco font called "Independent" designed in the 1930s by Collette and Dufour. Collette is influenced by the design of the original font, however, there are substantial differences: instead of small caps, a true lower case was created, the upper case character proportions and shapes have been greatly modified, and all missing characters have been created to make a truly modern font which nevertheless has all of the panache of the original. Monocolo is the result of a reflection on communication and of the language evolution in the new media. For this reason, some emoticons have been added to the usual glyphs and symbols and icons have been added to the regular. These glyphs, through the use of Discretionary Ligatures (DL) feature, can be recalled by using their name or idea associated with them (in the English language). This feature is designed to retrieve the icons quickly and not to be applied to a text, therefore you have to pay attention to compound words when used through DL.

I have been to Japan many times, but I have to admit that I have not (yet) been to Odaiba, so this font is a reminder that I should go there one day. Odaiba is a large artificial Island in the bay of Tokyo. It is a popular shopping and sightseeing destination and its sights include a copy of the Statue of Liberty and a mega-sized Gundam Robot. Odaiba Script is a handwritten font. I used a Sharpie pen on paper, so it is nice and thick. It comes with double letter ligatures and all diacritics.

A cute and funny kid-friendly typeface inspired from bears and handmade with passion and joy. Will you believe if we say, HollaBear is made by bear cubs. The typeface is essentially simple but very uniquely expressive when it comes to the design of posters, flyers, cartoons graphics, logotype, web and display usage. This unicase typeface, with alternate characters in several of the lowercase positions, is patterned after Mosaik, designed by Martin Kausche for Schriftgeißerei Stempel in 1954. A stencil treatment has been employed, and the outlines have been roughened to enhance its ancient feel. The typeface is named for a king of England, Æðelred the Unready, who ruled over a millenium ago. Unlike its namesake, this typeface is quite ready to do yeoman's duty on your next project. The Opentype, Truetype and Windows Postscript versions of this font contain both the Windows 1252/ANSI character set and the 1250/Central European character set.

Benton Modern was first prepared as a text face by Font Bureau for the Boston Globe and the Detroit Free Press. Design and proportions were taken from Morris Fuller Benton’s turn-of-the-century Century Expanded, drawn for ATF, faithfully reviving this epoch-making magazine and news text roman. The italic was based on Century Schoolbook. This version of the family is part of the Reading Edge series of fonts specifically designed for small text onscreen, having been adjusted to provide more generous proportions and roomier spacing, and having been hinted in TrueType for optimal rendering in low resolution environments.

Acherus Feral is sharpened version of Acherus Grotesque. In this new version all sharp edges are flattened and rounded corners are sharpened. Lynchburg was inspired by the Jack Daniels Green Label Whiskey logo, included in Lynchburg are a couple Whiskey Barrels located on the less than and greater than keys. HS Almisk Serif is a display typeface. It can be used for titles and graphic projects, which support Arabic and. It has been created based on modern kufi style. It enjoys flexibility between sharp and curved lines in the structure of characters. This supports with a beautiful appearance and wonderful geometric structure. It based on HS Almisk typeface with a serif on some of its characters. (5) Weights has been created for this typeface between the Light weight and Black weight. This typeface with its diversity of (5) weights is intended to be an attempt for a good addition to Arabic typography.

TT Tangerine made in 2017 has been a global hit. It's been used by the biggest performing artist in the world, luxury brands, designer packaging and more. Due to its popularity an italic style was added in Feb 2023. From the designer: I wanted to make a retro font with that 70's good vibes feel but i didn't want to just copy letters from that era. I decided to make new unique letters that had that groovy 70s feel. The bold curves pay homage to the big hair and bell-bottoms of the golden era.

Colmcille was designed by a Gaelic scholar, typographer and printer, and first released by Monotype for composition casting in 1936. The design intention was to provide a Gaelic looking type which worked well as a roman text face. The digital version of the Colmcille font family has been made in collaboration with the designer's son, Dara O Lochlainn. A number of changes have been made, including a new set of figures and the addition of a bold weight. Although originally designed as a text face, Colmcille can be used for advertisements, flyers, in fact wherever a touch of Gaelic charm is required.

Compass Next is a third edition of Compass TRF designed in 2002. The first time Compass TRF has been conceived was as a “geometric” Didone – all letters literally were drawn with a ruler and a compass. Second edition (2009) got additional styles – Flourish Initials and Small Caps. This time, the objective was to bring overall extreme geometrical expression closer to traditional letterform style of its “modern style” typeface category (Didone). All glyphs were redrawn including in alternative Decorative style, and additional Bold weight has been added. Typeface is released in OpenType format with extended support for most Latin languages.

Ammurapi was the last king of Ugarit, which was destroyed circa 1200 B.C. Back then all writing was done by hand and all that has been preserved is on clay tablets many of which were fired in the very destruction of the cities that enabled these documents to withstand the rvages of time. Ugarit unlike the other cuneiform scripts has a very limited number of glyphs. It is somehow exotically attractive. This font has been encoded in the appropriate unicode block to permit ease of use for scholarly purposes, but would also make a fine use as a decorative element.

ITC Peter's Miro is the work of New York designer John Peter. It was inspired by the letters used by Joan Miro in his paintings. No one used letterforms more frequently in his work than Joan Miro," says Peter. For his typeface, however, "considerable liberty has been taken with his [Miro's] original letters and missing characters have been added." The letters are a simple script, irregularly and almost crudely written, but bursting with energy. To give designers free rein with their creativity, Peter designed two complete versions of the alphabet in both upper- and lowercase, Peter's Miro and Peter's Miro Too."

Say hello to the Editor's Note Family, an editorial serif display that includes 16 fonts, regular and italic, from Hairline weight to Bold, and still has all the clean lines, tight curves, and trendy minimalist vibes! I've been loving the clean, editorial type trend happening in design right now (let's be real, there's always a place for timeless editorial type). Editor's Note is a stunningly crisp upper and lowercase typeface that looks incredible in both large settings as a display text (think big headers, pretty quotes, calls to action, etc.). I've been loving combining the regular and italic, especially in big, bold quotes.

The Eixample project is inspired by modernist signage of various examples found in the Eixample neighbourhood in Barcelona. The name of each subfamily is related to its location or to specific elements of the original sign. In 2003 we photographed a sign with the word GLACES painted on a refrigerator, on which, over the years, we have speculated on how to manage the concept of double vertical modulation. This model has been expanded and the original idea has been developed in three variants that oscillate between monolinear and high contrast. In order to increase its versatility, the character set includes small caps.
