Metafora Sans is a contemporary display family with multifunctional workhorse designed to work best in any printed and on screen contexts, including logo design, brand identities, websites, packaging, poster and headline. Neo Sans began as an intriguing assignment from a branding agency. The agency’s client wanted an “ultra modern” type family that was "futuristic without being gimmicky or ephemeral.” When a bureaucratic decision cancelled the project, Monotype staff designer Sebastian Lester decided to finish the design on his own. “I was left with a sketchbook full of ideas,” he said, “and thought it would be a shame not to see what came of them.” Lester decided that the principal ingredient of an "ultra modern" typeface was simplicity of character structure: a carefully drawn, monoline form, open letter shapes and smooth, strong curves. By further amplifying these qualities, he crossed the line from modern to futuristic. Two highly functional and versatile typefaces emerged. These are Neo Sans and Neo Tech, designs Lester describes as "legible without being neutral, nuanced without being fussy, and expressive without being distracting." OBO Star is a fat, subtly flared display typeface with a not so subtle groove factor. The letters are based on a square and do not have ascenders or descenders. This way the typeface can be used for horizontal and vertical settings, or mixed like crosswords. There are a few exceptions for certain punctuation and special characters that are half the width for better spacing; and the word space’s width can easily be adjusted through OpenType stylistic sets. Talking about spacing, for strictly horizontal typesetting there is the option to turn on kerning for a number of characters to create a more optimal texture across words and phrases. But that’s all just technical talk. The true character of OBO Star is the funky look, amplified by the wide 1x1 format that creates space for unconventional shapes, mostly pronounced in the letters R, K and G.

The Metalista font was created as a sign of undying admiration for the persistence of heavy metal culture. The angled font of almost fixed width proportions combines capitals with small letters for more variety and better definition of individual letters. Stressing the horizontal strokes subdued the historical Gothic character and emphasized a more modern signature, which is far different from the majority of current attempts at a modern adaptation of Fraktur fonts.
