100.000 years ago years ago, a group of mad scientists from the far away planet ZyrXX, encountered the earth and just waited to conquer the planet. Their masterplan was to use electronic brain waves to manipulate our minds. Sounds cheesy and comic, right? Well, that is the true story about this font. The font was built using a grid (hence the name!) and all I had in mind, was a mixture of old sci-fi movies and computer graphics from the 80ies. I did my best to recall and re-create this - I will let you be the judge to decide whether I succeeded! :)

Let me tell you a secret: This font has got absolutely nothing to do with nougat or France. I just love nougat, and I actually ate some while finishing this font! My wife is a good at making cakes, and lucky for me is that she too adores nougat - that way I often get delicious cakes with nougat :) Well, back to the font - a handmade rounded sans-serif, comic, organic, all-purpose with a playful attitude. A throwback design reminiscent of 1950s signage and print ads, Merrymakers JNL takes a previous release (Bluesman JNL) and places the letters and numbers inside parallelograms with ‘TV screen’ openings. Merrymakers JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions. The upper case A-Z characters have the taller side of the shape to the left, while the lower case a-z has the taller side to the right. This font began life as a metal type called Duerer, from the Boston Type Foundry about 1890. A wood type maker copied it, and that's where we got it (in Guadalajara, Mexico, already! Some people travel to see the sights; we travel to collect type.)

A two-font chromatic (or layered) set. The Primary font, which is the old Sutro Inlined Initials. Salvaged from the wreckage of my Type1 font library, the inlined initials have been in the shop for some repairs and detailing. I just added the fill font to support the inlined version. Each font works on it’s own but they work very well together. Caps only. Open Type.

Knitting & Sewing Doodles are just that. If you type all caps you get 15 knitting icons and lower case is 15 sewing doodles. Knitting items include yarn, knitting, needles, ball winder, spinning supplies, stitch counter, etc. Sewing machine, buttons, thread, pin cushion, bobbin, thimble and needles, scissors, label, tape measure, darning egg, zipper, seam ripper, and pins, all in the Outside the Line style.

Willow is an Adobe Originals typeface designed in 1990 by Joy Redick for the Adobe Wood Type series. Willow is a condensed typeface modeled on nineteenth-century wood types known as Clarendons (wood type Clarendons do not resemble the English metal types of that name). Clarendon condensed faces were originally so well-designed that words or a line of display type have an even color that is remarkable for wood types. Taken from proofs of type in the Rob Roy Kelly Collection housed at the University of Texas at Austin, Willow can be used for display work such packaging, advertising, and posters.

Lindau is a new take on the Jensonian Roman typeface genre. The idea was to combine the Venetian proportions with a conical shaping of the vertical parts. Lindau may be considered an alternative to fonts like Jenson, Centaur, Trump Medieval or Deepdene. Suitable for ads, stationary, branding and label design, headlines and short to medium-length text bodies. Lindau is layed out with comprehensive character support for every Euro-Latin language.
