Formosa is the old, colonial name for Taiwan. Formosa means beautiful in Portuguese and I think this handwritten typeface has a certain beauty itself. It comes in three styles, all of which make extensive use of ligatures, to give the font an authentic, handwritten feel. Like most of my fonts, Formosa comes with Babylonian language support.

Douceur (pleasantness in French) is an all caps, serif typeface with a flourish. It was created by hand in one go: no sketches, no try-outs. The font comes in two styles: regular (outlined) and black. Due to style naming issues, the black version will show up as a different font. Douceur comes with all diacritics.

Waiting For My Girl comes from a System of a Down song (Hypnotize). I was listening to it when I created this font and I liked the name! Waiting For My Girl is a script font - it’s quite loose and uneven, just like proper hand writing. It comes with double letter ligatures and a lot of character!

Criss Cross is a scratchy, scribbly, rough-n-tough kinda font. The idea comes from the many notes I wrote in my horrible handwriting. When I want to stress things, it sort of looks like Criss Cross. Imogen Agnes is a hand-made, signature-style font designed to create personal, stylish lettering quickly & easily. When teaching font-making at the Art Institute of Tucson, I give my students plenty of lab time to come up with design ideas. I designed Pucky while one class created their fonts. It came about through an idea for a capital A: sort of a triangle with two round sides and a crossbar formed by a circle falling out. (You can see it here.) In drawing that, I hit upon the idea of making the tops of the alphabet sharp and square and the bottoms rounded. (See the whole alphabet here.) Pucky suggests both circus and psychedelia. Hmmmm, does anybody have an “in” at Cirque du Soleil?

Crypt is a seemingly lovely font that will look good in just about any design. First of all, I don’t have an uncle called Edward, nor do I know anyone by that name. When I had finished this font, it had a strong ‘Uncle Edward’ feeling to it, so the name stuck. Legestue is danish and means playroom. But perhaps that translation is too direct. Legestue is a place where you can come with your kids and play with other kids. Kinda like a kindergarten, but in much smaller scale. I attended a Legestue when my kids were like 2 years old. But that's a looong time ago! I like the idea of just dropping by and see who's playing and who's around. And the same goes for this font - each letter is off and different, and quite playful. Also, the letters has a crunchy outline, which made me think of some of the cookies I ate at the Legestue :)

My family and I recently moved to a ‘fixer upper’ farm from the 1930’s. It came with a slightly run down barn, 4000 square metres of land and a LOT of redcurrant bushes. I can’t really say that I am overly fond of them. I find them a bit too tart. As a kid, I used to smother them in sugar, but I can’t do that any longer, since I am a responsible dad… ;-) Redcurrant is a slightly wonky, slightly crazy handmade font. It can be used for book covers or post cards, but feel free to use it for whatever. Comes with cute little swashes as well.

Plywood is based on a long lost American film classic: Franklin Typefounders's Barker Flare from the early 1970s. Food Truck package is a wonderful set of fonts. During my recent trip to Japan, I stumbled upon a food truck / street food festival in Nara. Besides drinking the best cup of coffee ever (seriously, it was THAT good!), I got the idea of creating a font package based on the various handwritten signs I saw at the festival. Food Truck package consists of a fat headline font, a couple of outlined fonts, a great chalkboard font, a rather messy script font and a whole bunch of food-related doodles.
