Teip, designed by Alex Jacque in 2014, is a layerable geometric typeface system. Teip developed as a typographic exploration of overlapping tape where a over/under, foreground/background interplay would be a stylistic motif throughout. For the most part, the uppercase characters have a vertical stress in the foreground, while lowercase have the horizontal stressed in the foreground. Because this is a unicase typeface, upper and lower case glyphs can be mixed for a more random feel in the shape of individual words and the flow of sentences. In Teip, glyph widths and kerning are the same across all styles and weights. This opens up the ability to easily layer one style on top of another to create a large number of color and stylistic combinations.

Ingram BT might be described as Deco, or Arts & Crafts, in style. Created by Alex Marshall, it is a very condensed design with high-waisted uppercase glyphs that feature dots rather than straight lines for the middle hairlines. There are two sets of alternate glyphs accessible via stylistic and contextual OpenType features. The contextual alternates offer the most interesting glyph substitutions. There are also oldstyle and tabular figures, superiors and inferiors, as well as unlimited fractions. Ingram is a very handsome, casual typeface, with a slightly rough finish. The compact lowercase remains very readable at text sizes and it is a pleasure to turn on the earth tone colors and typeset left and right justified paragraphs! It may be preferable, if possible, when printing, to choose a pale color a little rather than condensed - dark grey instead of heavy black, for example - to give the best appearance and to benefit from the full details. Conceived specifically for intensive editorial use, whether it is in newspapers, magazines or digital media, Abril is a font family of two worlds. The titling weights, based on a contemporary revamp of classic Didone styles, display both neutrality and strong presence on the page, attracting the reader’s attention with measured tension in its curves, good color and high contrast. It also features typographic niceties such as ornaments, borders, special dingbats and alternate letters and numbers that propose a broad palette of tools to the designer. The text weights are more closely inspired by both, 19th century slab serifs and scotch roman types. They maintain consistency with the headline styles, and at first glance may appear to have the same shapes only with lower contrast. However, in reality the letter forms of Abril Text were engineered from scratch to achieve a color, texture and overall width that allow using the font comfortably in the most challenging environments for continuous reading, such as newspapers. This also makes it a great font family for pocketbooks and magazines. Abril competes, in terms of economy of space, head to head with some newspaper classics such as Utopia or Nimrod, but featuring a more contemporary look and feel; and unlike them, includes a full set of small caps with numbers and punctuation. The four main text weights of Abril Text were also manually hinted which grants the possibility of a smooth transition from printed media to web platform. Abril consists of 8 text styles and 12 display styles, all of them containing the standard TypeTogether character set that supports over 50 languages including those from Central and Northern Europe.

Monotalic was created as a fun experiment, exploring better solutions for the monospaced type design. Most monospaced (fixed-width) typefaces have the same main design problem regarding the lowercase – filling the empty space around l, f, i, j and r. That usually brings the addition of slab serifs to those narrow characters, causing many monospaced fonts to look and feel alike. Monotalic solves that problem by adopting the handwritten (or cursive) form for those problematic characters, which allows them to be defined in more strokes, thus getting a better distribution of form in that fixed-width space. On the other hand, cursive writing usually lacks the legibility of a Roman (Regular upright) style, so Monotalic was created to be a hybrid, taking the best of both worlds. Monospaced fonts today are mostly used for coding. Modern code editors use colored text in order to differentiate between different kinds of code. So, in that environment there’s actually no need for traditional text styling by adding Italics, Bold or other styles, because the code lines are overstated as it is. That is why Monotalic focuses on one style only, in three widths and four weights. The weights allow users to choose the perfect contrast of text on screen, depending on their monitor resolution and background color in the editor. Movie scripts are almost exclusively set in 12pt Courier. It became the industry standard because when set in the specific “screenplay format" it helps with the breakdown of the schedule and budgeting process of the film production. Although it looks completely different, text set in Monotalic (Normal width) will take the same amount of space as Courier.

This font set is based on the handwriting styles of quintessential American artist Edward Hopper and his wife, Josephine Nivison Hopper, and was produced in conjunction with the Whitney Museum of American Art. Both artists kept a record of Edward's paintings in a series of journals, which provide the basis for this set. Unlike font sets which feature two similar handwriting samples of one artist, the Edward Hopper font set presents two distinct handwriting styles. The Edward Hopper font is typically masculine, with its sharp angularity, while the Josephine Hopper font presents an interesting contrast, given its elegant, rounded shape, with significantly more flourish. Bonhomme Richard evokes the cursive penmanship of Chevalier John Paul Jones (1747–1792), celebrated Continental Navy commander during the American Revolution, in letters from the late 18th century. The font’s name comes from Jones’s famous frigate, lost during his victorious engagement with the British in the Battle of Flamborough Head in 1779. During this battle Jones is said to have exclaimed, when urged to surrender, “I have not yet begun to fight!” (In fact, his likely words were, “I may sink, but I’ll be damned if I strike!” – i.e., surrender.) A legible script, Bonhomme Richard has an elegance about it while also conjuring the colonial era of its source material. Darmhagh Underwood is a “rough” monowidth font based on the face used on the old Underwood manual typewriter. Darmhagh Underwood was first digitized in 1999 by Michael Everson and originally used the MacGaelic character set on the Macintosh platform, and ISO/IEC 8859-14 on the PC. In 2008 Darmhagh Underwood version 3 was released in OpenType format, completely compliant with Unicode encoding and with an extended character set. The particular Underwood typewriter from which samples were taken to design Darmhagh Underwood is on display in the National Library of Ireland. It belonged to Conradh na Gaeilge and was used to draft armistice documentation which led to the end of the Irish War of Independence in 1921. Darmhagh is pronounced [ˈdaɾuː].

RaseDowne is unique amoung all of our other Graffiti Fonts. This font is intended to be rotated 90 degrees clockwise so the text reads downward. This style was created by RaseOne & is often used to create tattoo designs, fashion designs and mountable artwork. The rough, natural style and imperfect lines help maintain a handmade look. Introducing Rotten Banquet, our first victorian display font. This font inspired by 1800s typography design with some modern touch at it. We made this font without too much swashy efefct on the letterform. Just gave it two bold ripple floral effect at the tail is enough. So this font will more readable and not too complicated thus you could make any kind of projects with this font. In the preview we give you a sample ideas. We made it with one style design for the continuity but of course you could make your own style display for your own project purposes. This font contained with 370+ total glyphs. Each uppercase and lowercase have their own stylistic alternate at least one.

A new font inspired by vintage hand-painted paper signs. The Doorbuster Collection is based on retro hand-painted paper signs primarily seen in grocery stores from the 1920s through the 1970s. We meticulously hand-drew each font, modeling the spacing and uneven baseline found in vintage sign painting. The purposely organic ascenders and descenders, along with a huge set of ligatures/contextual alternates to avoid the same letters repeating when paired, give it a real hand-lettered look. Doorbuster Plug is perfect for both vintage-inspired and contemporary marketing, branding, and packaging designs. It's a classic workhorse font from the 1950s thru 1970s. Check out a few of the samples included in the thumbnails to see what can be done with it.

Nicolas Cochin (not to be confused with another font named simply "Cochin") was originally designed by Georges Peignot in the early 20th Century and was based on engraved letters of the 17th Century artist Charles Nicholas Cochin. Many foundries including Lanston released versions in the 1920s. Several digital versions can now be found, but none have kept the irregular details of the metal type which include strokes that cross over each other as if hand drawn (see letters K & y). The new Lanston digitization is the only digital version to retain the idiosyncratic treatment which makes the metal type so alluring. The Opentype version included an expanded Central European character set as well as ligatures, alternates, fractions, superior/inferior numerals (the Italic also has swash characters).

I, uh, don't know quite what to say. I'd toiled so long over Pumpkinseed back in '96 that I guess I needed a good, wild ride to shake out the head cramps, or something. Whatever grabbed me, it forced me to sit down and design a typeface real fast directly in Fontographer (had never done that before). Took less than two hours to finish the regular character set. No way to explain it, but the exercise actually paid off -- I think. And now that there was Speed Bump, there simply had to be a companion dingbat set. (Beats the heck out of me.) So check out Speed Bump's wacky character(s) and, if you're really bored, the 200-some-odd little pictures in Speed Bump Pi.

The Roman alphabet has seen endless variations in interpretations of its classical form, and various wood type styles managed to explore everything from XXX condensed to hyper extended and expanded. This delicate and handsomely proportioned extended Roman was issued by Page Manufacturing Co. in 1872 and released as simply “No. 251” after Page was acquired by Hamilton. It is a rare font to find in print shops, most likely due to the very fine lines that would no doubt be less durable that bolder gothic jobbing fonts. While being quite wide, it still holds the elegant grace of wide Romans such as Craw Modern. This new digitization features a full Western and Eastern European Character set as well as ligatures and alternate characters.

Once upon a time, in the days BC (that's Before Computers) there lived a very talented group of men and women whose job it was to render ads by hand. So skillful were these people that some say it was possible to actually identify the typefaces that the layout artists were emulating. Their renderings were swift and slick, no time for detail as it was necessary to do a whole bunch of variations, usually within ridiculous deadlines. Their only tools: bullet-tip markers and bond paper - often mistakes resulted but no time to re-do and white paint was totally unacceptable - just let the slipups be. Here's a simulation of their craft, we don't really know what typeface this was supposed to represent… any ideas?

The Boboli garden in Florence (16th century) is one of the first examples of Italian renaissance garden, where nature was shaped into geometric beauty; the Boboli font was designed in the same spirit, filtered by a Modernist view. It comes in two sets, Autumn/Winter and Spring/Summer: by mixing them you can compose the typographic season of your choice. From the geometric, minimal Fall/Winter set stem the leaves of the baroque-esque Spring/Summer set, with many stylistic alternatives that allow perfect matching. The two opposite styles merge perfectly, because the leaves are not mere decorations but organic part of the structure, achieved by sampling the curves of the basic glyphs. A calligraphic script font Millettre is the last member of the trilogy of types designed by Lyudmila Mikhailova. First two fonts Milanette and Milafleur were released earlier. The font is based on author's lettering artworks which she did for many years for companies who produced greeting cards. The characters of the font have rough contours simulating lettering by a pointed pen on a rough paper. The character set covers standard Western, Central European and Cyrillic code pages. The default version of the font is presented by disconnected script, but connected variant is also included and organized as an alternative stylistic set. The font also contains some initial, finial and alternative forms of letters. Recommended for use in advertising and display typography. Released by ParaType in 2011.
