This font is based on real prints made out of a linocut. The glyphs were handprinted, then scanned and then turned into a computer font.

Ammonia is a simple sans serif made fumey and gloopy. Strange little dendrites poke out from some of the characters, causing some linkage between letters.

The Terminus typeface is an exploration of what occurs to letterforms when flip-disc display and variable-message signs begin to malfunction. Whether caused by analog or computer error, there is a mechanical beauty and randomness in the deterioration of the forms. Dresser's wild take on this concept purposely pushes the limits of legibility along with incorporating historical bits and pieces from blackletter and uncial script forms into this modern digital grid. OpenType font features provide the user with four options to use the typeface. Simply load the default Terminus for a surprisingly legible breakdown of digital characters. Select “Contextual Alternates” for a random selection of altered forms from the 994 glyphs included in the font. With the Glyph Palette open, manually select from the five full character sets to create your own unique settings. Lastly, choose “Stylistic Alternates” for an extreme test of legibility. This setting combines characters from the default font with the most elaborate set of alternates and best exemplifies the organic disintegration of Terminus.

Another jewel of the vast treasure of historical font designs was digged out and brought to life again. Due to the courtesy of the Quay Brothers, London, who yielded to me an age-old brochure of Albert Auspurg’s ‚Miami‘, released by Schriftguss in 1934, I was able to redesign this elegant font. This font which I called ‚Elbflorenz‘, a cognomen for Dresden, contains West and Central European type faces as well as those for Romanian and Turkish. To get access to the historical number sign please use either the OT feature additional ligatures or ordinals.

Rockner is a family of fraktur typefaces designed by the calligrapher/designer Julius de Goede. Like all Blackletter styles, fraktur evolved out of Northern Europe's medieval manuscript tradition. Fraktur was the most used Blackletter variety between the sixteenth and twentieth centuries. Unlike many similar fraktur font families, Rockner is available in three weights: Regular, Medium, and Bold. This flexibility allows for richer design possibilities. The OT fonts contain the many alternate characters, such as the long s and historical ligatures, which are often necessary for the setting of historical documents.

Bodoni Terracina is a legible, fun-formal script face, with lots of curls. Sometimes script faces are hard to read. Sometimes being formal means that there’s no personality and there’s no fun. Enter Terracina: one of the masterpieces of font design. Some of the most personable italics ever carved. Includes powerful new features for: • Dates • Pricings • Addresses Not is only Terracina formal but fun, it’s also fun to use! In a program like Adobe Indesign or Illustrator, just highlight a word and see lots of fun options. Bodoni himself etched these symbols, and his fun-loving personality shines through. As a semi-script, it can go together with many script fonts, but it is more readable. When you need something equal parts elegant and whimsical, Terracina strikes a perfect balance to let the fun shine through, such as for holiday designs or fairytales. Terracina is a subheads font, but Bodoni also used it for paragraphs. So Terracina works well doing subhead paragraphs, especially when contrasting with the mood of the first font. And because of the swash variety, it works well for setting German and other European languages. CAL Bodoni Terracina is a member of our Origins Series. Kaneda Gothic is a whole new basic gothic. Philosophically, Kaneda Gothic is the one of the niche answers in the interspace between these antinomies. Image of near-future and giant metropolis in 80s, 90s vs our real life in the 2010s,20s. What we acquired by Industrial, scientific developments vs our emotional demands, imagination in our brain. Design transition in short period of time vs the consistency of real function which laid along the human history. Technically, Kaneda Gothic has a geometric letterform which called “gaspipe” or “Gothic” in woodtype era. But Kaneda has very sharp curves and lines for contemporary demands, that is to say, impact and clearness. Geometric and clear letterform is perfect for eye-catching part such like company logo, movie title and picture’s captions. Consists of seven weights and their matching italics. Supporting almost all latin languages.

Stencil typefaces are popular because they are striking and decorative, and their associations - whether Utility, Travel, Vernacular, etc - are evocative. Anostencil is developed from, but not exactly like, our Ano typeface. Ano’s geometric skeleton, tweaked a bit, allows for a level of abstraction while retaining legibility. Some of Ano’s characters, such as the a, e, f and r, have been amended to make clearer, more graphic shapes when the stencil design has been applied. Different application of the stencil gaps in the letters make functional but decorative and expressive linear forms. This is particularly evident in Anostencil’s extended character set which features codified, semi abstract shapes. So the stencil design in Anostencil has been applied in not necessarily the most logical or immediate way, but in a way that makes each letter a striking and graphic shape.

The fundamental in creating this typeface is the implementation of our interest in typography over the past year. Swithin is based on hand lettering from the titles in a Victorian fairy tale collection. It has a playful look which seems just right for the holiday season, with some rough, hand-drawn variations which make make it feel more unique. It's conceptually similar to our Candlemas and Summerisle fonts, but has its own special personality. It ought to be excellent for holiday cards and other seasonal uses.

The font, Madame, first appeared in a sample with similar fonts, presented by the Fonderie Typographique Française in the 19th century. The font consists of three cuts, letters, accents and numericals. The flamboyant Madame is meant for titles and headlines, emphasis in text or as initials. It combines well with both serif and sans serif fonts, but should be used sparsely to maximize the advantages of its ornate forms.

This unique type treatment was born after working in a mixture between a pixel based font and a retro logo. With lot of details it looks great a bigger sizes, but you can also apply it to write long sentences or even as body text! This font was chose as the official online font of our favorite band Foo Fighters some time ago, when it was just a work in progress.

Houdini was extemporized from the single word "Houdini" on a lithographed poster for the magician. The original was a shaded outline like our Houdini Shaded font, but we felt that a solid version would be worthwhile too. Like the companion font Houdini, the shaded version was created from the single word Houdini on an old lithographed poster for the famous magician. The original was hand-lettered by a litho lettering artist.

Like our first "1871 Dreamer Script" this script font was inspired from a lot of manuscripts, notes and drafts, written by the famous american poet Walt Whitman. However, it is a very different font, with a higher x-line, numerous different ligatures, alternates and twin letters, including fractions, and, as a real "Pro" font, usable not only for Western European, but also for Eastern and Central European, Baltic and Turkish.

Fitzronald is a body text typeface with a strong personality combined with a good legibility in small sizes. It is an excellent book typeface, but it can be used in e.g. advertising and packaging as well. Due to its good legibility at low resolution, it is a superb website and e-book typeface. Fitzronald is based on Ronaldson, an American typeface originally cut by MacKellar, Smiths & Jordan in 1884.

Kazootie was inspired by cut-paper shapes and named after the hand puppet character Rootie Kazootie in a 1950s children's television show. Kazootie is a light-hearted and fun display font with a big, strong voice and crisp confident stride. Best for headlines and larger text in picture books, Kazootie is all caps, but you can type your letters in uppercase or lowercase to access two different variants of the style.

Stateside is a bold condensed serif with a vintage feel. It has an urban and, I like to think, urbane character which puts me in mind of classic Thirties architecture like the Rockefeller Centre or the Empire State Building. I did consider calling it Rockefeller, but the family might think it a bit of a liberty, and I can’t afford to get into a copyright battle with them!

Table Shake is somewhat like sunshine after a cloudy day: It puts a smile on your face and makes your trouble seem easier to overcome. Table Shake handmade, yet digitally re-organized, but leaving the organic handmade details. Maybe it is that particular font that makes your designs blow into space with happiness! I've added 3 different versions of each lowercase letter, and they automatically cycle as you type.

Friendly and generous, this is an organically grown display typeface. Its original handcrafted shapes have been significantly polished, but without losing its old-fashioned charm. The versatile regular cut comes equipped with a wealth of decorative OpenType features such as swashes, majuscule discretionary ligatures and stylistic alternates. The family also comes with a stylish set of useful ornaments and a very eye-catching spiky version. All hand made, with care.

Sign Production JNL somewhat resembles Sign Kit JNL but there are some noticeable differences. The letters and numbers in Sign Production JNL are bolder, wider and have some slightly different character shapes. The common theme is that both fonts were designed from die-cut letters and numbers found in the Webway Sign Cabinet, manufactured by the Holes-Webway Company of St. Cloud, Minnesota until its demise in the 1980s.
