SK Greenland is a humanist sans serif font family with geometric and organic forms. When creating the font, I was inspired by the various names of musical groups and sci-fi movies. I took the hourglass shape as a basis and added various serifs to it, hence the name of my font appeared - Klepsydra, as in the Greek hourglass. This style has an abbreviation - "Z". I will develop this font family and will add new styles, as well as characters.

This font is influenced by Walbaum. However, I did not just trace the design, but sort of had the image in my head while I drew the letters. This font is balanced by not being entirely Walbaum, but still basically is. I've named it "NoraPen." Nora comes from the name of the main character in Ibsen's "A Doll's House," and Pen means a cage for livestock.

The letters and numbers of a home movie titling kit from circa the 1950s or 1960s called the Magna Tech Titler Number 312 were die-cut from cardboard with a magnetic backing and were styled after Futura Bold. The user of this set composed the desired title or phrase onto a metalized board and the result was photographed with their 8 or 16mm camera. Because the dies of the characters were handmade, very slight variations in the shape and stroke width of the lettering would occasionally occur. These variations were incorporated into the design of the digital type face. Intermediate JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Umkhonto is the Zulu word for SPEAR, the traditional weapon of war that the Zulus used. The sharp points of the letters face upwards and represent the sharp points of the dangerous spears. The font includes a full 256 character set: all upper and lower case letters, as well as all numerals and punctuation. It also includes the most commonly used characters used in non-English European languages such as Spanish, French, German and Portuguese. The numerals are mono-spaced so that they will line up correctly in columns of figures. The letters of the alphabet are spaced according to their width and are carefully kerned.

Porkshop is a font of retro vintage flavor with a hefty dose of immigrant-influenced naive typography. It's fundamentally inspired by an old-but-still-prominent "Pork Shop" sign in Manhattan. I like to think that this font was made by a signmaker's apprentice who didn't yet have a grasp on the subtleties of elegant letterforms, but put his gusto into perfectly sharp serifs. While pointy little serifs are cool, the real shine of this font comes from the imaginative combination of uppercase and lowercase shapes. This unique mixture in the lowercase reminds me of an indeterminate European accent in the big city. Big and strong and easy to understand. Best rendered in 3-foot tall metal type, Porkshop works well in print and on screens, too. The Bolds and Italics are brand new in 2011.

Galvantur is a sans serif font, suitable for a wide range of applications. The main characteristic of this font is the slightly alien feel it can invoke, allowing it to really appear different and stand out, comparative to what other sans serifs may look like. Faithfully reproduced from my father’s design drawings made at The Municipal School of Arts and Crafts, Wolverhampton in 1939. Strong nostalgic influences of Art Nouveau and Art Deco. What caught my eye was the consistency with which each particular character was formed: every ‘R’ like every other, every ‘S’ the same. Tight letter spacing and loose word spacing characterised his titling but he didn’t trust himself to print without first ruling guidelines, a hint of which remain in this font.

Regular Joe was first delivered to the font world by Ron and Joe. Yes, the same Ron and Joe of the ArtParts fame. A few years of being so regular, Regular Joe became, well, just bored. Regular Joe needed company. He wished for a family. After all, most of his font friends had big families. His wishes were granted by FontHaus. So Skinny and Husky were created to be with Regular and all together, they became Family Joe. All is well.

Orgovan is based on calligraphic script models lettered with a flat brush, which have been a mainstay in the sign makers' and display artists' handbooks since the beginning of the 1960s. Careful adjustments to the construction of the character shapes made the glyphs more open. This ensures that the face is well legible in small sizes, making it suitable for more demanding typographic applications. The Punk and Rounded variations of the base model offer an even broader range of possible applications, while the Fat Cap, Flower Power and Hairy cuts are contemporary decorative alternatives.

ITC Verkehr was designed by Mott Jordan, who based its forms on those of narrow sans serif typefaces but also chose a departure from the tradition to set the font apart from the rest. The upper half of each character is heavier than the lower half, although this is usually the other way around. Diagonal strokes, like the horizontal of the lower case e, relax the otherwise regular, bar-like look of the font. ITC Verkehr is suited exclusively for use in headlines and display in larger point sizes.

Floridium grew out of an affection for the old wood types of the 1800s. Painters Roman* was the initial inspiration. It was the source for the �banana� and �snake head� serifs. But the design�released by Adobe as Juniper�was too quirky to be useful. I tried to make it more sophisticated and modern while keeping the original personality of the 19th century types. The name resulted from a trip to Miami while the initial drawings were being made. Not the best way to name a typeface, but while we were in Miami Beach there was this tall blonde in a bright yellow bikini sitting on this bright yellow Porsche and...

It all started with a simple idea back in 1998: do a digital version of a "lost" 70's typeface, and make up the missing letters that were not present in the only available example Jeff Levine had to work with. Jeff wasn't yet doing his own digital font creation, so he hooked up with Brad Nelson who owns a small foundry called Brain Eaters Fonts. Together, they collaborated on "Action Is"- a freeware font named after the source of the type example. This was a title page for a commemorative photo album of images from the 60's TV music show "Where the Action Is", formerly hosted by Jeff's employer at the time, singer-writer-producer Steve Alaimo. The free font took off like a rocket, being released just at the peak of the 60’s/70’s retro craze in the late 1990’s, and it was EVERYWHERE! It showed up on TV shows, packaging and web design -- and was even spotted on signage used on the side of a major amusement resort’s retro-themed hotel. From that point on, Jeff kept getting requests for a version with a lower case. Although they shared the copyright in the freeware version, Brad Nelson gave Jeff his blessing to re-work and take Action Is into the realm of commercial type. Newly improved and re-released as Groovy Happening JNL, it became one of Jeff's better selling type designs. A simplified, yet similar font was issued called Groovy Summer JNL. Now, after about a decade, Jeff had decided to clean up the 3-D (drop shadow) version that was originally freeware with many minute design flaws and re-release it commercially. Groovy 3D Caps JNL is an all-caps, limited character set font which ties in well with the previous releases, yet retains itís 1960s-1970s era charm. The font flag art is courtesy of Barbara D. Barbou was originally cut in 1925 by Monotype as a counterpart to Fournier, siblings that were different in design but both based on the work of Pierre-Simon Fournier. Whether by choice, accident or oversight, Fournier was preserved digitally, and Barbou was lost to history. Barbou was notably used by Stanley Morrison, in particular as the face of The Fleuron. I fell in love with Barbou when I saw it, and knew that I wanted to bring it to a new generation of designers and readers. This is a revival of Barbou, a faithful recutting with new weights, characters and many of the best features that modern font technology brings. Particular attention was paid to the original Monotype Barbou 178 specimen sheet. Originally only available in a single weight, Barbou has been recut with a variable weight, providing a large degree of flexibility between Regular and Bold. Barbou excels as a comfortable reading face for books, and the variable weight allows you to fine tune the darkness and texture of the page in a way never before possible. Barbou has a distinctive softness, and this revival of Barbou preserves much of the effect the medium of metal type had on the letterforms. This results in a subtly rounded yet defined type, elegant not worn, with the utmost attention and respect to the smallest of details. Barbou was originally cut with disparate x-heights for roman and italic, and this revival of Barbou features both the original italic, as well as a new italic redesigned at the same height as the roman. In Fournier’s time, roman and italic would not be mixed on the same line, but the type must change to meet the needs of a new generation. Barbou also features unique ligatures and alternates, old style numbers, small caps and a full Greek alphabet. Barbou is perfect for books and anywhere a comfortable reading face is required, and excels in flexibility.

The Geometry Pro family has been designed to be the final word in purely geometric fonts, and this rounded Script sub-family is a nod to the 50s style of connected logomarks. Words set with both the Regular and the Alternate (with its more flourished capitals and alternate stem connections) can be extended by using the underscore character between letters. You can freely mix and match glyphs from both fonts to create a little bit of variety, and finding that perfect combination. Marian Churchland was born in Canada in 1982, and was raised on a strict diet of fine literature and epic fantasy video games. She has a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies (English Literature and Visual Arts) from the University of British Columbia, and has been doing professional illustration work, including book covers and magazine articles, since she was 17. Last year, she became the first woman to solo-illustrate a CONAN story, and this year she’s illustrating three issues of ELEPHANTMEN for Image Comics. From the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, by way of Toronto, comes Martie's handwriting. Martie Byrd is a school teacher in Roanoke, Virginia, and a friend of Canada Type's Rebecca Alaccari. After years of admiring the cheer and clarity of Martie's handwriting, we asked her to write out full alphabets for some cool font treatment. The intent was to do three different versions of her writing in two different pens, then use the auto-magic of OpenType to determine letter sequences and rotate character sets on the fly when the fonts are in use. A successful endeavor it was. Take a look at the images in the MyFonts gallery to see the character rotation in action, along with a visual explanation of why Martie is not just another handwriting font. Unlike other available felt tip and ballpoint handwriting fonts, the regular and bold variations are style-based, not weight-based. They are the handwritten expressions of two different Sharpie pens: The fine point one (Martie Bold), and the ultrafine one (Martie Regular). The style-based variation considerably helps the realism needed in design pieces that take advantage of the contrast of two different handwriting fonts. Weight thickening in handwriting is an obvious mechanical effect that only happens with computers. Weight changing by replacing pens is what happens in the real world. Martie Pro and Martie Pro Bold each contain three different character sets in a single font. Language support includes Western, Central and Eastern European languages for all three sets. This translates into each Pro font containing over 750 characters. Add OpenType code and stir, and you have true handwriting fonts with versatility unavailable out there in anything else of the genre. A software program that supports OpenType features is needed to use the randomization coded in Martie Pro and Martie Pro Bold. Current versions of QuarkXpress and Adobe applications (Photoshop, Illlustrator, InDesign) do contain support for the randomization feature. But if you don't have one of these apps, you can still use the interchangeable Type 1 or True Type fonts and change the characters manually to achieve the appearance of true handwriting. The Martie fonts come in a variety of price packages, from the affordable single fonts to value-laden complete sets. All the proceeds from these fonts received by Canada Type will be donated 50/50 to two primary schools: One in Roanoke (where Martie teaches), and one in Toronto (where the 10-year old, real Canada Type boss goes). Martian Grotesk is a large typeface family originally designed for the screen which consists of a variable font with 2 axes of variation and 63 styles: Condensed to Ultra Wide, Thin to Ultra Black. Aesthetics The font style is characterized by some brutality and assertiveness. Overhanging terminals, a closed aperture, and an almost complete lack of contrast lead to this effect. Additionally, some elements of the letters are especially enlarged. This font gives any text the impression of being a “signature” style. Nevertheless, we still maintain the golden mean between its rebellious nature and readability. Perfect for web development We created Martian Grotesk for the web and digital project world. When laying out web pages, frontend developers are constantly faced with the fact that uneven metrics do not allow text to be evenly placed on some design element, for example, on a button. Instead, they have to compensate in some way, like making the top padding smaller and the bottom padding larger in CSS. This little deal really hurts. Also, if your project adheres to design system principles, you might be unable to stand a lack of systematic approach when working with fonts. We researched and calculated vertical metrics and set them up in a way that guarantees equal space above the cap height and under the baseline. This enables the text labels to be evenly placed on buttons, inputs, lists, and forms. In addition, we found a proper ratio of the letter heights, so, with commonly used font sizes—10, 15, and 20 pixels—the glyph heights stick to the pixel grid. As a result, the letter shapes become sharper, which reduces the load on the reader's eyes and simply looks much better. The typeface also comes equipped with OpenType and TrueType hinting, and Martian Grotesk appears legible on most platforms, even when being rendered in small sizes. When coupled together, all the above features make Martian Grotesk a reasonable choice for any user interface design. Roadmap Martian Grotesk right now is a work-in-progress product. The font is completely ready for professional use, however, many great features are still ahead! For example, support for Extended Cyrillic characters, and italics. Pricing Purchasing an early version of the font presents the opportunity to get it at a very attractive price! Abdo Master is a geometrical style. This is an OpenType Font supporting Arabic, Persian, Urdu, and English. The combination of modern Kufi and Geometrical styles and varying between straight and curved parts made it a beautiful typeface appropriate to the titles and text, and able to meet the desire of the user in the design of ads and modern designs of various types of audio and visual. it comes in fourteen weights from Thin to Black and Outline style.

Downward Fall owes its name to one of my favorite Opeth songs, called The Funeral Portrait. The song itself is an uptempo metal composition with rather dark lyrics. This peculiar combination, a mix of good and evil if you will, is what characterizes Downward Fall font: the brushwork is quick, giving the impression of speed. The undertone is darker, scarier - lots of jaggedness and decay. Downward Fall font comes with a 20.000 foot drop of diacritics.

LeKing is a Frankenstein of vintage ornamental typefaces of the past centuries. Each character is a collage of different bits of different letters. Art Museum JNL is yet another take on the classic Art Deco "solid letter" fonts that emulate the style of Futura Black. This version comes to you through the courtesy of a vintage WPA (Works Progress Administration) poster promoting national parks and Winter sports. Take note of the unusual inverted middle crossbar on the 'E' and 'F' as inspired by the poster's hand lettering.

Breuckelen was inspired by the regular patterns of the New York City plan. The grid of any large modern city is immediately recognizable by the distinctive pattern of major roads curving or slanting through it. This face is intended to be recognizable in the same way. It is named after the Dutch town after which Brooklyn is named, a word which also roughly translates as "broken land".

From the 1917 sheet music for "The World Has Been So Mean to Me" comes a wonderfully hand lettered chamfered sans with varying widths and character shapes, now released digitally as Sentiment JNL in both regular and oblique versions. This informal bit of lettering retains the stylish elements of the Art Nouveau period without the extreme eccentricities found in some typographic designs of the period.

Tzur is a Hebrew sense-serif font with a nostalgic scent. The shape of the letters has two qualities - Raw and processed - and they are combined without canceling each other out. The resulting product is a font that conveys power, stability, and prominence, and echoes typographic values that correspond with the graphic/visual language that was accepted in The early years of the State of Israel.

Sherbrooke is a simple and sans serif font. I have chosen the name of this typeface after the "Sherbrooke" Street in Montreal, Canada, that I daily walked in for several months in the late 2005 while I was studying in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. I do adore this street and also I adore the whole city of Montreal. This font comes in two different weights. "Sherbrooke" can be used in wide fields of publications such as the titles of novels, literary texts, short stories, dictionaries, books, newspapers, websites, and magazines. Époque initially came from composing a fashion catalogue with some materials from the Brazilian Amazon. The pieces of the collection used natural caoutchouc as raw material and the design of capital letters use forms that refer to the typography of the historical period 1890 - 1910 in which caoutchouc was the main driving force of the Amazonian economy. This typeface has a complete set of numerals, a set of standard ligatures, in addition to alternates in specific glyphs and a large set of discretionary ligatures composed mainly for UPPERCASE.
