Sometimes the simplest ideas yield more than one result. The basic “dot matrix” design of aligned circles that was the basis for Transactive JNL also yielded Zera JNL (connected rings) and Pillow Puff JNL (fluffy and cloud-like lettering). One more design was originally cast aside. A separate file is available for filling in the letters with a colored background, however minute adjustments may be needed due to the fact that each drawing or design software program has its own characteristics and quirks. FA Komunikat is an experimental and geometrical typeface based on simple elements: a circle, it's parts and straight lines. The typeface communicate the spirit of future, dynamism and modernity. FA Komunikat design was based on the sketch of unique lettering from 1932 made by Władysław Strzemiński, Polish vanguard abstract painter, an artist and a typographer. Strzemiński claimed that modern economic letter forms should be standardized and based on lines and arches. He wrote that readability is a matter of habit and after a practice the new letter forms would be very well readable for everyone. In 2004 Artur Frankowski revived original design creating set of characters, widen up with numerals, punctuation marks and diactrics.

Biotic is a dual-personality 18 style typeface which features two distinct design approaches that can be initiated with the flick of a switch. The natural design approach uses conventional forms for a geometric sans but when you switch to the engineered approach some key glyphs become squared to create an edgy approach in an instant. Tangential is a distinctive modern sans in 3 weights which was born out of a simple idea: Beginning the project with a perfect circle to form the letter ‘o’, then squaring off one corner, ending up with a letterform I hadn't seen before for that character; this for me was enough motivation to attempt a full alphabet incorporating the angled styling wherever possible. The Tangential style I envisaged for the family is complemented by the prominent use of negative space throughout, most apparent on the drop shaped ‘o’ which is a key feature of the typeface and a letterform I'm particularly pleased with. The core Tangential design is also accompanied by two further variations, Rounded & SemiSerif.

Upon hearing the news of the demolition, our team was struck with sadness and nostalgia. As youngsters we can recall attending a wide variety of events, such as hockey games, pro wresting and the circus. Bikini is a display-font that offers designers a variety of opportunities to create a lively and sophisticated typography. The font contains swash-capitals and roman capitals as well as two different forms of lowercase letters for endless combinations. Furthermore, a set of more than 60 ligatures is included. Bikini gets its charm by mixing up constructivist and handmade origination concepts. Although the letters show partially very expressive and overhanging details, the creation is strictly based on a matrix of circles and arcs (see drawing). In spite of its static and geometric basic elements Bikini seems to come to life and to break the rules of the grid, thus it looks somewhat psychedelic.

Zomsenso is an angular, semi-modular typeface that supports OpenType alternates. The angular part means that the entire* font uses only angular segments and shapes. The alternate glyph shapes are under Stylistic Set 01. This font includes Seven Segment display (U+E000 to U+E07F) and arbitrary fractions (U+E1nd, n=numerator; d=denominator) that are mapped to the Private Use Area, so users can easily insert them via Unicode input. You can combine these fractions with the superscript and subscript numerals to create more fractions. The Modesto Text Family is text in name only. It’s called Text because it has a Lower Case, and also to distinguish it from the rest of the Modesto clan. Modesto is a loose-knit family based on a signpainters lettering style popular in the late-19th and early-20th centuries. It evolved from the lettering I used for the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Baily Circus Logo. The Modesto family was not planned. It just happened, a few fonts at a time over about fifteen years. In 2014 seven new Italic fonts and two Chromatic families were added. There is a downloadable MODESTO USER MANUAL PDF in the Gallery section for this family.

This versatile font is evocative of antique signpainters' letters, circus wagon & carnival booth graphics, groovy 1960s psychedelic scripts, and even sportswear team insignias, all combined with a modern approach towards lively curlicues and ball finial stroke ends. As with all other font offerings from Mysterylab Designs, we take great care with artful kerning and weight-matching of glyphs to allow this font to be used not only at attention-grabbing headline and logo sizes, but also at small body copy sizes in extended passages. Toyprint JNL is based on scanned print samples of a toy rubber stamp set imported from Japan circa the 1930s. No kerning and a very limited character set, but fun and nostalgic nonetheless. NOTE: Large size rendering of the type will give the appearance of cut paper rather than rubber stamp impressions due to the nature of the scans for this font.

While Student Council JNL was not influenced by any school activities, the design is based on a lithographed cardboard sign (circa 1930s) for Spizz Sparkling Water, a bottled seltzer from the Dr. Pepper Bottling Company of Lexington, Kentucky. A squared letterform with angled semi-serifs, this Art Deco typeface grabs attention. Student Council JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions.

In their circa 1900 specimen catalog, Barnhard Brothers and Spindler called this typeface "Samoa", suggesting exotic locales. On the other hand, it also suggests some serious fun, and is named in honor of British artist Dudley Hardy, whose posters used a very similar typeface extensively. Both versions of this font include the complete Unicode Latin 1252 and Central European 1250 character sets.

Show Card Deco JNL is a hybrid of examples from hand lettered titles found on various song folios from the Carl Fischer Music Library circa the 1930s and is available in both regular and oblique versions. Mariken van Nieumeghen is a late medieval Dutch text from the early 16th century. The protagonist of the play (a young maid called Mariken) spends seven years with the devil (called Moenen), after which she is miraculously released. Mariken is a handmade font, which was based on the works of Robert Granjon (1545-1588), a French type designer and printer. Use it for product packaging, books and posters. A sans-serif face in which the circular elements have become almost square, NewNerdish resembles a number of typefaces which have become associated with a modernistic, computer look. There is little or no variation in the weight of horizontals, diagonals, and verticals. It comes in two widths each with five weights and each weight has an oblique version, which has the same letter shapes as the upright version. The ShadowedInside style is designed to be used in a layer with the Shadowed style.

Summit rehashes both Circuitry Fonts, combining them into one font. To further modernize Summit, I have included all the characters required for full character set. Regular with Small Caps. Summit includes all punctuations, numerals, diacritics and special characters. The oringinal Circuitry Font was inspired by the printing on electronic circuit boards, it was interesting that most all printed font-strokes were either 90 or 45 degrees. I have kept most if not all of these angles while simultaneously giving it a contemporary feel.
