I designed this font because it didn't exist - it’s based on hand rendered type created for black and white line marker scamps used in the advertising industry. I use it that way and it’s saved me a LOT of hand-rendering time over the years. Of course, Scamps works as an informal marker script in its own right too. I’ll be interested to see what you do with it.

Teamhair Tower is a “rough” monowidth font based on the face used on the old Sears Tower Gaelic manual typewriter. Teamhair was first digitized in 2002 by Michael Everson and originally used the MacGaelic character set on the Macintosh platform, and ISO/IEC 8859-14 on the PC. In 2008 Doire version 3 was released in OpenType format, completely compliant with Unicode encoding and with an extended character set.

Bertie was designed by Alan Meeks in 1986, an ornamented typeface with a light and elegant look. Such typefaces were at their peak in the middle of the 19th century, when they were created for the advertisements of booming industries. The sophisticated Bertie is based on forms of the transitional period and is best used in headlines with point sizes of 18 or larger to highlight its unique details.

Mundial translates as “Worldwide”, this name is a statement: the idea of synthesizing characteristics from different traditions in a single typographic style. Here and there you can see gestures that are clearly associated with different eras and cultures, but not to be confused: the main characteristic of Mundial is the summary, the cohesion and the sum that results in more than each individual part. Mundial is a typeface for this time in which individual identity marks, are the best aid to build a world together.

Roadbrush was inspired by the mid-20th-century hand lettering of Albert Eckhardt, Jr., that I found in a 1950’s sign painting book. Roadbrush is a retro brush-style script that I re-designed and completely re-mastered. Roadbrush is a powerful font that can be used for logotype, packaging, posters, T-shirts, signage & design projects with a retro & vintage feel. Roadbrush comes with four styles that contain all upper and lower case characters, punctuation, numerals and mathematical operators, as well as all accented characters.

I have seen my share of badly stuffed animals. Most of them via pictures, but also on vacations here and there. They all had this really bad handcraft vibe, but at the same time some really ordinary and kind of cute looks. I did my best to capture this look and feeling in my Badly Stuffed Animal font: clumsy letters made with a blobbly pen, with naive and irregular lines - and the conclusion is something super useful for a project that needs an organic handmade look!

Winchell is the only identified typeface designed in Buffalo, NY prior to the formation of P22 type foundry. It was created by Edward Winchell of the Matthews-Northrup Printing Works and released by the Inland Type Foundry in 1903. The Winchell typeface was also made in Wood by the Hamilton Manufacturing company in the mid 20th Century. The Winchell typeface is a Clarendon styled slab serif that clearly has the look of a pre-modernist design. E.E. Winchell’s Arts & Crafts tendencies show through in this design

Broken is a grunge font with two interchangeable sets of uppercase. Its forms are in the Egyptian style of the early- to mid-nineteenth century, and the totality of its setting gives off the impression of a most unfortunate letterpress situation, with badly cut punches, uncontrolled ink spread, and metal shards and slivers strewn all about. Available in all mainstream font formats, Broken works very well and has a very unique appearance in design concepts where the overall visual can benefit from harshness, erosion, destruction or weathering.

This font is for architects everywhere. This all cap font was created for use with CAD programs. It gives the handlettered look of old to computer generated blueprints. Architectural Lettering Bold is the heavier weight for Architectural Lettering. This additional weight makes a best selling font even more versatile. It has all the international currency symbols. Fedtspiller is danish and the definition could be someone who plays with a low risk and defensive (at least when talking about soccer) Although there is a slight negative feeling to that, I remember several guys when playing soccer as a kid who benefitted as playing as a "Fedtspiller" :) Anyway, Fedtspiller is a legible comic/text font with softened edges. Comes in both Regular, Scribble and Rough - all of these versions include Contextual Alternates (4 different versions of each lowercase letter) and multilingual support

The inspiration source for MFC Sansome Monogram is a decorative serif lettering style that comes from the book Henderson's Sign Painter from 1906. Known as "Rustic Roman" and originally designed by John F. Irwin, this fantastic typeface has been digitally revived and expanded for monogram designs. While the original lettering did not include numerals and was never originally intended for monograms, its ornate nature lends itself so wonderfully to the craft. Ryno Slab is a superslab that was born out of a need for an aggressive, heavy, geometric display face that did not appear clunky. Its serifs are so thick, you could create reasonably legible word shapes by using all caps and masking the words out. Ryno Slab’s tough geometric exterior and squarish forms make it suitable for tight setting in posters, t-shirts, and artwork. Also, an extended character set with support for European languages make Ryno Slab a good fit for magazine headlines.

Urban Grotesk attempts to follow the best of traditions of Grotesk typefaces: rounded arches, slightly thinner connecting strokes and a vertical shadowing axis, where outstrokes are terminated strictly in perpendicular to the stroke direction. The primary characteristics are the connection of the rounded stroke to the stem, a round dot, lower and more thrifty uppercase, and generous numerals. The width proportions of characters is almost unified, the text colour creates a unified grey area on a page. An airy metric aids good legibility in shorter texts.

Doc Holliday is an original design by Alex Kaczun. It's a classic revival of a Western-style slab serif font extended to include Eastern European Latin and Baltic languages. Doc Holliday has a mid to late 1800s wood type feel, and one can envision a sign over the O.K. Corral in Tombstone, Arizona, and the legendary Gunfight between the three Earp brothers and "Doc" Holliday and the Claytons and McLaurys. This font can be applied to sports team promotions and other nostalgic projects. "Howdy pardiner!"

Just kidding, what's Jewish without a schmear of guilt. This font borrows its style from the 2nd. Avenue Deli all the way down to Guss Pickles on Essex street. If pastrami on white bread with ketchup is for you, this font is NOT. Its strictly pastrami on rye with mustard and slaw on the side.

Shaking hands is quite a complicated process: do it too lightly and you appear weak, grab too hard and you’re too eager. There are also those with a ‘Guerrilla Handshake’ - grabbing your hand unexpectedly, shaking it vigorously and yanking it toward them. Guerrilla Handshake font was actually made by hand, using Chinese ink and a brush. I did use the brush vigorously, but I made sure not to shake or yank it too much! Guerrilla Handshake comes in a slightly backslanted ‘regular’ version and an italic version.

Whittington is a revival of a congenial ‘modern’ typeface of the mid nineteenth century, unassuming and businesslike with an even colour that reads comfortably over long stretches. It is intended primarily for use in running text. Whittington provides wide support for west, central, and east European languages that use the roman alphabet. Among its OpenType features are ligatures, small caps, several sets of numerals, contextual alternates, intelligent implementation of long ‘s’, and fractions. Charles W. "Plot" Plotner was a cartoonist who had developed a template-based cartooning set for kids circa 1952 called "Plot-O". A companion set was called "Plot-O the Clown". "Plot-O" consisted of two plastic templates with pre-cut and numbered cartoon shapes. By following the simple directions and tracing the corresponding parts, any youngster could create basic cartoons of people and finish them off with their own details. The hand-lettered instruction booklet provided the design inspiration for Cartoon Panel JNL.

I love cheese snacks in all kinds of variations. As a kid I even loved having chessy fingers, but as an adult I prefer to wash my hands (instead of licking and sucking each finger "clean") So, as a loving memory of an all time favourite snack, I made this all caps organic looking sans. Obviously handmade, and cleaned up digitally...just a little bit. Furthermore I have made 5 different versions of each letter and made sure that there is plenty of multilingual support!

P22 Tuscan Expanded is a digitization of the mid-19th Century Woodtype font "Antique Tuscan Expanded - Wells & Webb 1854". Specimens of this font are rarely, if ever, seen with a lower case. It is noted in the book American Wood Type 1828-1900 by Rob Roy Kelly that the lower case is "missing". This version was digitized from a recently discovered full set including all lower case plus ff ligatures. One unique feature of this design is the heart shape formed in the V, X & Y.

I started making this font with a few days left at work before my 4 weeks vacation. I managed to finish the font on the day my vacation started - but with no stress. Now I can look forward to 4 good weeks at the summerhouse, and look back at the release of this laid back, handmade and somewhat quirky font. Personally I’d use it for anything that needs an organic handmade look - perhaps packaging, posters, flyers or maybe even clothes or toys for kids!
