The small circles which ornament the alphabet and the unusual flowing forms which look like a mixture of Arabic and Sanskrit combine to give the typeface an ornamental, exotic look. This text font is available in six weights from light to black and was designed by Gustav A. Grinberg. An outstanding characteristic of the font is its light stroke contrast and its constructed forms. Its tiny, triangular serifs first become noticeable in very large typesizes, much like the Dutch fonts of the 17th century, Copperplate, for example. My wife was watching ‘Memoirs Of A Geisha’ the other day, and I am going to take my son Sam to see Japan in May this year, so when I started drawing out the glyphs for this font, the name was already chosen! Tokyo Geisha is a handmade brush font. I made it with Chinese ink and one of the Chinese brushes my late father in law gave me. Tokyo Geisha is a font with speed and a certain flamboyance. Nipok is a single weight display typeface, inspired by the aesthetics of different decades. Rounded terminals and playful intersections from the 60’s and 70’s, joined with straight and compact lines from the 80’s and 90’s. The name FeggoliteHatched comes from the fact that it was created with the help of an old font manipulation program called Incubator Pro. It was an attempt to create a more conventional typeface from the odd monospaced font, FeggoliteMono. As a monospaced font, FeggoliteHatched could be considered a typewriter face, but no typewriter ever produced letters like these. The original version from 1994 is now the italic style and it has a leftward or back slant. The upright or plain version was added much later, in 2018. There is also a choppy upright version included in this family.

They look almost as though they lie just under the surface of a pool and the movement of the water gives them their undulating appearance. The dynamic Linotype Laika is especially good for headlines in larger point sizes or shorter texts in point sizes of 14 or larger.
