HOKKIEN is an all caps sister to my other font Penang. It was inspired by some old pieces of Art Deco signage I had discovered in Penang Malaysia, The font is available in one weight for now. The font is loaded with plenty of foreign extras and currency symbols. I have also included an alternate cap S which works better visually in blocks of copy.

This font features a complete uppercase alphabet, including accented characters, as well as numbers and standard punctation. Lowercase characters are an assortment of useful dings and things. To create very low-load GIFs, compose your type in Photoshop (or equivalent) at 8 point (or multiples thereof), with anti-aliasing turned off. Both versions of the font include 1252 Latin, 1250 CE (with localization for Romanian and Moldovan).

Looking for a break from modern calligraphy? Tired of skinny scripts? Here's something seriously relaxed. Chill Script is a totally new typeface, it eschews any brush influence, but maintains a warmth that comes from not being rigidly constructed. It's a sans serif script, with a nice top-heaviness that makes it friendly. As you expect from fonts today, it's loaded (but not pointlessly overloaded) with OpenType features.

Darby came about while playing with a loaded round-tipped brush. The letters remind me a bit of signage I remember seeing at county fairs in my youth. It's a casual comfortable font that lends itself well to outlining and drop shadows for emphasis. Not intended for long copy, it would work well in headlines or in signage where one is wishing to attract attention.

Breuckelen was inspired by the regular patterns of the New York City plan. The grid of any large modern city is immediately recognizable by the distinctive pattern of major roads curving or slanting through it. This face is intended to be recognizable in the same way. It is named after the Dutch town after which Brooklyn is named, a word which also roughly translates as "broken land".

Based upon CA BND (the clean version) CA BND Trash is a rough and dirty version of our favorite DIN-like font. We recommend it for use in zombie movies title design, headlines for ads of a soft-drink manufacturer (who hopes to be cooler, if he uses rough typefaces), or for emocore, hardcore, softcore or "whatever-core" bands. Uhhh, its the time for the living dead.

Derived from a photograph Rian Hughes took in Hong Kong, the Roadkill family of typefaces is a literal interpretation of rough and worn road lettering. The original provided almost all of the key character shapes, with the others being designed to keep the unique hand painted feel intact. Most of the letters have alternate versions provided. This font works equally well at wider letterspacing settings. Roadkill Alternates provides curved versions of the 2 and the S, a G with higher crossbar, and less worn versions of several other characters. The heavy version packs even more gritty wallop in a non-condensed and blacker weight. Roadkill Heavy packs even more gritty wallop in a non-condensed and blacker weight. Some time ago I stumbled upon a little book called 'De Sprookjeshoorn' ('Horn of Fairy Tales') by Anton Eijkens (1920 - 2012). It was published in 1946 and contains several authentic and unique fairy tales - unfortunately unreadable to modern children, as the language used is out of date. What caught my eye was the handwritten font on the cover of the booklet. Closet Skeleton is a fairytale font inspired by the one I found on the cover of De Sprookjeshoorn. It comes with several curly alternates and some end-ligatures as well. I added an 'old fashioned' ampersand and a modern one, so you can choose which one to use. Apart from that, Closet Skeleton comes with a closet choc-a-block full of diacritics.

Snoofer is a modern font that works for both display and text. It comes in 4 weights(Regular, Italic, Bold, Bold Italic). Snoofer was inspired by a character in stories my dad told me as a kid. Somehow they always ended with "... and they never left home again." Enjoy!

Matchmaker, a modern calligraphy typeface, was inspired by the various works of modern day calligraphers. Its tall, quirky, and juxtaposed letterforms provide a deviation from traditional calligraphy-inspired typefaces. Matchmaker features smart contextual alternates and swashes that add to the front and beginnings of letters (using lowercase letters, enter === before the word then +++ after the word to see the feature in action). From the pages of a small book entitled “A Portfolio of Alphabet Designs for Artists, Architects, Designers & Craftsmen” [Irene K. Ames, 1938] comes a bold Art Deco sans poster display face. The digital version is called Throughway JNL, and is available in both regular and oblique versions. [To note, throughway (or sometimes spelled thruway) is a popular term from the 1950s and 1960s for a major road or highway.]

The idea behind Geotica was to build a font out of -more or less- simple geometrical line elements. The open wire frame could then be left open or (partially) filled. Geotica comes in four different grades or line thicknesses (One, Two, Three and Four) so it's suitable for a broad use. We've all seen the informational markings on commercial driveways or roadways instructing us which way to turn, where to park, etc. They are usually in stencil lettering 16 inches or taller, with compressed letters that make the horizontal strokes look slightly thicker than the vertical ones. By condensing the lettering in Narrow Stencil JNL by 20 percent, the result is Driveway Stencil JNL - a digital emulation of those painted road markings.
