The LifeAfterCollege family began as a set of four fonts based on two styles of Ranger, which are slab-serif, geometric fonts with no curves. Two of the four are outlines with hollow insides, and two have-filled insides. The two fonts that are outlined have been taken apart and made into three typeface that can be layered. Eggad features letters on eggs. It can be a fun font to use at Easter or for any egg-related message. Some of the eggs - those on the upper-case keys - have their large end on the bottom and others - those on the lower-case keys - have their large end on the top. The font uses the contextual alternatives feature of OpenType to alternate the big-bottom and big-top eggs. If you only want eggs with big tops or with big bottoms, turn this feature off. Eggad comes in two styles, a regular style in which the eggs are outlined and a bold style in which the eggs are solid. Both are monospaced. The two styles can be layered to color the eggs. Forum Title was originally designed by Frederic Goudy in 1911. It was intended to be the heading font used for a book set in Kennerley. Based on inscriptional Roman stone cut capitals, this face is true to the early Roman forms which did not have a lower case. Forum exemplifies the classic Roman letterform at its finest. If a lower case were desired, Forum Title can be paired with Goudy Oldstyle for a harmonious hybrid font.

For several years I have been thinking about the design of a type family that explores, on the one hand, the modernist aesthetic that we know, from the Alphabet "a.r." designed by Władysław Strzemiński, and on the other, to the multiscript pre-war Warsaw. This is how the idea of creating the Polin Sans typeface was born. After researching on geometric variants of the Cyrillic alphabet, I was inspired by the text "Towards an open layout: A letter to Volodya Yefimov". I was intrigued by the fact that circular forms, which we are mostly familiar with in the Bulgarian Cyrillic, can be implemented in the classical version, without disrupting the reading process. At the same time, while working on typoteka.pl, I was fascinated by the Hebrew typeface jaffa, published by the Idźkowski & Sk-a foundry, which at some points looks like the Hebrew equivalent of the Alphabet "a.r.". Ben Nathan from Israel joined the project and was responsible for creating his native script. The idea of creating a multiscript family expanded to include Greek and Vietnamese. As a result, Polin Sans is a historical journey through the nooks and crannies of Polish modernism, which was created by people with diverse cultural backgrounds. The Polin Sans family was designed by Mateusz Machalski and Ben Nathan with the support of Michał Gorczyca and Małgorzata Bartosik.

Gancio is my first fully realized hand-drawn font and has a robust character set. Its simple lines and sophisticated curves are contemporary, but recall vintage and retro cool. Moonstone is for all those misunderstood goth Buffy fans. This font contains alternative versions that enable customisation of headlines and are intended to be freely mixed in one setting.

A tessellation is a shape that can be used to completely fill the plane. Simple examples are isosceles triangles, squares, and hexagons. Tessellation patterns are eye-catching and visually appealing, which is the reason that they have long been popular in a variety of decorative situations. These Tessie fonts have two family members, a solid style that must have different colors when used and an outline style. They can be used separately or they can be used in layers with the outline style on top of the solid style. For rows to align properly, leading must be the same as point size. To see how patterns can be constructed, see the “Samples” file here. Shapes that tessellate and also resemble real-world objects are often called Escher-like tessellations. This typeface contains Escher-like tessellations of birds. Quite a few of them resemble swimming birds, but there are also some that resemble flying birds or birds in other positions. Most or all of these shapes were discovered/created by the font designer during the past twenty years in the process of designing maze books, coloring books, and a book about tessellations. (Earlier tessellation fonts from IngrimayneType, the TessieDingies fonts, lack a black or filled version so cannot do colored patterns. The addition of a solid style that must be colored makes these new fonts a bit more difficult to use but offers far greater possibilities in getting visually interesting results.)

This font is reminiscent of the Middle Ages texture fonts. But geometric shapes make it more modern. It will work well in large and short inscriptions. The large array of text readability is reduced due to the characteristic rhythm of the font. It has the standard ligatures and ligature to failed pairs. There are two sets of numbers: the proportional and the Old style.

Frosted is a font based on a naive, illustrated handwriting that can be used on a daily basis. In the opening scenes of the 1938 Three Stooges comedy “Tassels in the Air” the Stooges are working as maintenance men inside an office building. Their immediate job requirement is to paint the tenants’ business names on the corresponding office doors with pre-cut stencils. Of course, they get it all wrong. Nonetheless, the stencils appear to be a hand cut sans serif design in a squared or ‘block’ style with rounded corners, and some of the applied lettering made for an interesting challenge to recreate as a typeface. The end result is Maintenance Stencil JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Sincerely Yourz is another font in the Love Letters series from Outside the Line. It is a hand-printed font with extra letter spacing. All the letters have about the same height. All vowels are lower case whether they are caps or not. This font has a fresh contemporary hand-lettered look. While it can be used as a headline font it is really designed for body copy.

Lopsickles is a family in which the letters are based on lopsided, distorted ellipses. The family has four sets of letters that are combined in six different ways, yielding six fonts. Four of these fonts (styles AB, Ad, Bc, and cd) use the OpenType feature Contextual Alternatives (calt) to alternate letter sets so that top-heavy characters alternate with bottom-heavy characters. The spacing in these fonts is designed for alternating characters and will result in overlap if the characters do not alternate. The other two styles (Ac and Bd) are spaced normally. Style Ac contains the two character sets that are top heavy and style Bd has the two character sets that are bottom heavy. The Ac and Bd fonts have italics and backslanted styles that may be useful to suggest speed. Each of these ten fonts has an inset style designed to be used in a layer above the base font. This layering can be used to give the effect of hollow letters or to add a colored interior. Lopsickles joins several other alternating-characters families in the IngrimayneType library including Snuggels, CloseTogether, and Caltic, but is visually very different from them. It is a strange, unusual family that will get noticed.

When you use this font, be sure to look for the two different sets of end and spacing pieces, one with stars, one without. The ends are on the Bracket and Brace keys, and the spaces are on the Vertical Bar and Backslash Key. There are also a couple of "torn" end pieces on the Plus and Equals key.

Linotype Mega is part of the Take Type Library, chosen from the entries of the Linotype-sponsored International Digital Type Design Contests of 1994 and 1997. The fun schrift of German designer Till F. Teenck is available in three weights whose names are word plays in themselves. Mega in (which we hope the font will be) contains relatively light, somewhat irregularly-drawn characters which look as though they were printed by hand and the characters are set rather far apart from each other. This weight is good for short and middle length texts in point sizes of 10 and larger. Mega normal is anything but. The characters are the outline forms of Mega in and their larger width reduces the distance between them. This weight is generally a headline font. Mega out is a very heavy weight and is the filled-in version of Mega normal. The characters flow into each other and look almost like silhouettes. The reduced legibility makes this font suitable exclusively for headlines in larger point sizes.

Chancery Lane is a condensed cursive with a breezy, flowing feel. Many of the lowercase characters join up, some uppercase ones too, and the two fonts are slantier than many other chancery-inspired faces, inclined at almost 20°. Each glyph has slightly rounded corners to bestow softness and warmth. The typeface emerged from a study of pen lettering, italic scripts and chancery hands – down a rabbit hole and along the Chancery Lane. The research ranged from early cancellaresca manuscripts to contemporary fonts, and also calligraphic work, most notably that of Indian artist Mayank Baranwal whose lowercase letters inspired many of the Chancery Lane glyphs. Uppercase characters have been designed to harmonise with the lowercase rather than providing overly ornamental openers, true to origins that were functional rather than fancy. Both the capitals and the uppercase alternates are unfussy and relatively simple, and the lowercase swash characters are similarly understated, only modestly flourished. Stylistic alternates and lowercase swash characters can be accessed using OpenType-aware applications or font management software.

The letters in this font are made by chopping bits from footprints. Individual letters are sometimes very hard to decipher, but when put together as words they are usually readable. In Pedestrisan-Regular, the original version of this font, the upper-case letters have toes on the top the lower case letters have toes on the bottom. All the feet with letters are right feet. The upper case and lower case do not mix. In 2020 two alternate versions were created. In Pedestrian-Alt all toes are on the top but the lower-case letters are left feet. In Pedestrian-AltTwo all toes are on the bottom with the upper-case letters being cut from left feet and the lower case from right feet. Both the alternate styles also have an alternate set of numbers on the unicode circled numbers that can also be accessed with an OpenType feature.
