Komsomol (short for Kommunisticheskii Soyuz Molodyozhi) was the youth division of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. Komsomol font was modeled on several Soviet propaganda posters which all had one thing in common: a very loud message in a very clear typeface. Lectores is based on 18th century chronicles of Benedictine monastery manuscript, so it is definitely oldish, rough but elegant. Thanks to many ligatures and alternate characters it is varied handwriting font. Lectores is decorative, it works nice with many occasional papers such as invitations, stationery and quotations. Oceanfront Property JNL was modeled from the hand lettered title on the cover of the 1932 sheet music for "There's Oceans of Love by the Beautiful Sea". Arioso was a part of the 1990 program Type before Gutenberg, which included the work of twelve contemporary font designers and represented styles from across the ages. The calligraphic style of Arioso stems from an early form of Old Face developed in the 14th and 15th centureis in Italy. It is a mixture of Roman capitals and Carolingian lower case.
