Designer RD was created in 1999, at the same time as Just Square and Why Square typefaces, and envisioned to be their rounded alternative. Zoran based the font on the logotype his son Nikola made and its primary purpose is to be used in logotypes, headlines, fliers, websites, etc. that are going for a hard geometric look. The Submarine family is based on a custom designed typeface for website navigation and headlining purposes, hence its geometric structure. In contrast to most other typefaces, where increase of boldness of the lighter weights expands externally in the width, the Submarine heavier weights expand internally, leaving the length of words and texts pretty much the same. The open structure of the lighter weights make it reasonable text face as well.

Keetoowah evolved from a just a few letters in a sketch for a sorority t-shirt design. They loved it and kept asking for more of the same. The only solution was to make a font. These characters were made to be broken up, two toned, rotated, merged and jammed together. But, Keetoowah has a serious side. It has a great Southwestern flavor like smokey BBQ and patterned blankets.

Galangal, or Laos, is a root belonging to the ginger family, which is used in Indonesian cuisine. Since this font has the same design characteristics as Kurkuma, I thought naming it after a root was quite appropriate. Galangal is pretty unique, with thin and fat areas, bizarre glyphs and rough edges. Upper and lower case are fully interchangeable and the typeface comes with a full range of diacritics.

A Qilin is a mythical hooved creature, looking a bit like a cow with a lion's head, reptilian scales and deer antlers. The Qilin features in Chinese lore, where it is often associated with good luck and prosperity. Qilin font is a rather messy typeface, created with a steel pen and Chinese ink. It might not be a classy font, but it will bring the buyer good luck! ;-)

Tuff began with Magma. Set as text, they appear to be similar and are quite comfortable as typographic companions. It is beholden to Morris Fuller Benton's original Souvenir, and its revival by Ed Benguiat. My own Stone Informal was also an influence.

I have no particular love for pigeons, but I read an interesting article about war pigeons being used to send messages to an fro. One pigeon (called William of Orange) even saved more than 2000 soldiers during the Battle of Arnhem. Pigeon Post is a lovely cartoon and kids font. It comes in a sans and a serif style, so there’s really no excuse for not using it!

Graphen family is a hand drawn typeface with 5 different weights. This font contains script that replaces glyphs with their alternates. Zahar type family is based on the lettering developed by the famous Ukrainian graphic artist Georgi Yakutovich and designed for Ivan Franko's book Zakhar Berkut. It is good for the design of children's books, folk tales, songs, etc. Zahar is easy to read in short texts. It supports Extended Latin and Cyrillic (including Old Church Slavonic). A special OT-feature is added to support the Old Church Slavonic alphabetic numeral system.

Sincerely Yourz is another font in the Love Letters series from Outside the Line. It is a hand-printed font with extra letter spacing. All the letters have about the same height. All vowels are lower case whether they are caps or not. This font has a fresh contemporary hand-lettered look. While it can be used as a headline font it is really designed for body copy.

A universal text type was designed by Natalia Vasilyeva for ParaType in 2007. The type family is consist of 8 styles. Also corresponding decorative italic with calligraphic swash capitals was developed. The type has low contrast characters and narrow proportion. It is rather space-saved but very legible even in small sizes. For use in text and display typography. The upgraded version with extended character set was released in 2010.

The main problem with handwritten fonts is the limited use in body text. Bodyhand is specifically designed to remedy this, for example when designing children's books with a larger amount of text or in similar contexts. Bodyhand is especially adapted to read comfortably even when used in small font size and requires approximately the same space as the fonts we usually use in body text, such as Times or Helvetica.

Avancar Condensed Font Family showcases the exquisite pairing of modern grotesque style and soft sans-serif design. These conjunctions provide the effect of owning two subfamily typefaces and are an amazing solution for designers. The main feature of this font family is a semi-condensed design with a slightly higher x-height. And, while having the same skeleton design and stem width, they provide a completely different look and feel.

Funkadelity is a funky breed between 60ies poster typography and 80ies grafitti. Maybe even inspired a bit by comic book lettering! Funkadelity wants to burn off the dance floor and show off the fancy dance moves - at the same time, it want to show off the smooth and clean lines of the letters. Originally handdrawn, but I digitally remastered every single letter, leaving the curves smooth and clean!

If you're old enough to remember having a lettering stencil in school, then you might have tried to save all of the waste paper punched out of the letters and numbers; hoping to do something with them later on. Jeff Levine took his Tramp Steamer JNL stencil font and gave it the look of those waste paper pieces - lined up to form erratic characters with a personality all their own.

I designed this font because it didn't exist - it’s based on hand rendered type created for black and white line marker scamps used in the advertising industry. I use it that way and it’s saved me a LOT of hand-rendering time over the years. Of course, Scamps works as an informal marker script in its own right too. I’ll be interested to see what you do with it.

Stonehill is a bold handpainted sans serif typeface for display or packaging use. Stonehill has 3 glyphs for each letter and with contextual alternates activated in apps that supports this it will cycle thru these alternates to keep the same glyphs from repeating too much. Or, you can always pick and choose from the alternates manually to keep it fresh! Stonehill is available in two cuts - regular and oblique.

We have created this family as a complement to 1906 French News since the two type families were commonly in use in the same publications, including newspapers, popular books, calendars, almanacs and posters. This font, as its name suggests, was mainly used for titlings and subtitles. Small caps, included in the single file of the TTF and OTF versions, are added as a separate file in the MacTT version.
