The Keiss type family is our interpretation of the popular nineteen century Scotch Roman typefaces. We intended to keep a very classic approach while introducing a couple of new elements that differentiate this type family from it’s ancestors. This design, with short descenders and ascenders, along with three very distinct optical sizes makes this type family well suited for contemporary newspapers. The Title and Big versions range from Thin to Heavy, with matching italics, in order to be used in big sizes and stand out in the design. The Text ranges from Thin to ExtraBold and is a standalone type family for text usage, with narrow proportions and wider and open italics for improved text setting. The Condensed versions, ranging from Thin to Bold, don’t have italics, although they can be matched with the italics of the Title and Big versions, due to the fact they are very condensed.

Velino is the most recent of our Premium Typefaces. The serif version comes in two packages with three widths: Velino, Velino Condensed and Velino Compressed. The Display package contains high contrast typefaces, with a modern flair, very feminine but with plenty of character, specially designed for fine print in big text sizes. The Text package was designed for any running text. It’s proportions and colors make it the ideal for text, even in very difficult conditions such as newspaper printing. We also designed the perfect companion to this enormous type system: Velino Poster, a Slab Serif typeface with only one weight and it’s respective italic, but with plenty of muscle, for every time some extra strength is needed, like setting very big text, magazine covers or newspaper’s special sections. My son’s name is Ata Caner Yüksel. After building this typeface, I decided to honor it with my son’s name. I think I fully reflects the character I created in my mind. Ata typefamily, only one of the four other deep end with rounded corners consist of sharpened flat plate. Matched to one another and are optimized for screen. The 1920 song “Noah’s Wife Lived a Wonderful Life (‘Cause Noah Had to Stay Home)” is another example of one of those overly-worded song titles from early 20th Century composers. What’s more important for type enthusiasts is that the title was hand lettered with a round nib pen in a slightly ragged Art Nouveau style. Cleaning up the ragged design, the end result became Nouveau Showcard JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

David Berlow undertook the revival of Frederic W. Goudy’s Village family in the early ’90s as the first real step in the successful redesign of Esquire magazine. Goudy originally cut Village No. 2 in 1932 to bring early ideas up to date, adding the italic a year or two later for his own satisfaction. Kanna Aoki had fairy tales in mind when she designed MVB Greymantle. She drew dots with a felt pen to build up the forms, giving them their particular rough character. The “Extras” font contains a set of whimsical illustrations, including a portrait of Greymantle—her 18-pound cat, a set of curly initial caps, and border parts.  MVB Greymantle has been spotted on numerous children's books, in magazines, in salad dressing advertisements, and on food packaging.

The typewriter font Olympia was developed by Hell Design Studio and is available in one weight. A typical characteristic of a typewriter face is that it is monospaced, meaning all characters take up the same amount of space, whether a relatively wide m or a relatively narrow i. Typewriters have all but disappeared from the workplace and such faces have lost their original, practical use, but their style and effect has kept them alive and well, especially in advertisements.

From the remnants of an old freeware font by Ray Larabie comes Cardholder Dispute SRF. Thoroughly rebuilt from the ground up by Jeff Levine, this post-80s techno lettering can also double as a pop culture font evoking 60s or 70s rock concerts and hippie colonies or (as the name implies) credit cards. Physe. Physe is a basic set of fonts, designed for scrapbooking and general use. It comes in a variety of versions, with a light version, expanding up to bold. Many hurdles were taken to finalize this version, both physical and electronic. Like all of us, as I grow older, my glaucoma keeps pace with my arthritis, while I look on in amusement, hedging my bets on which will be the one to finally complete my retirement.

Say hello to Metropolia! Drawing up the first roughs of this design I was aiming for a slightly asymmetrical feel. I later realized that this gave it a strong art deco influence. A slight tilt brings it a forward movement and a distinct flavour. Designed primarily for headline use, this is not your workhorse font but rather a playful and versatile addition to your font toolbox. A set of alternate capitals will be handy for headline or logo ornaments.

NYC Graffiti is translated into a lively comic letter-style that is highly engaging. Momotarō is a Japanese legend about a boy who came to earth inside a giant peach. He was found by a childless woman and grew up to be a hero. I'm in a Japanese mood - mainly because lately I have been working with brushes and ink a lot. Momotaro font is a very detailed brush font. At the end of the 1931 gangster film “The Public Enemy” a hand lettered card offers up an afterword on the demise of Tom Powers (James Cagney’s character in the film) and how a “public enemy” is neither a man nor a character but a problem society must deal with. The text is in an Art-Deco influenced sans serif, and has been digitally recreated as Afterword JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Rhaetic or Raetic (/ˈriːtɪk/), also known as Rhaetian, was a Tyrsenian language spoken in the ancient region of Rhaetia in the eastern Alps in pre-Roman and Roman times. It is documented by around 280 texts dated from the 5th up until the 1st century BC, which were found through northern Italy, southern Germany, eastern Switzerland, Slovenia and western Austria, in two variants of the Old Italic scripts. Rhaetic is largely accepted as being closely related to Etruscan.

»Penta« is a new Sans typeface, designed in the American tradition with contrast between the up- and downstrokes. The contrast is hardly visible on the »thin« cut, but the heavier the weights get, the more contrast becomes visible. That makes this font very useful, almost linear in the lighter weights and very distinct rhythm in the heavier ones. »Penta« is extremly versatile, it can be used for bodycopy in the lighter weights and for heavy headlines.

The cover of the 1919 sheet music for "While Others are Building Castles in the Air I'll Build A Cottage for Two" had its title hand lettered in a wonderfully eccentric Art Nouveau serif design that typified the era. Also typical of the time was the habit of various songwriters to come up with wordy titles. This particular one checks in at fourteen words. Nonetheless, the sheet music's title inspired Air Castles JNL and its oblique counterpart.

A Bloomer is a crusty loaf of bread with rounded ends. I don’t know why I chose this name, but it may have to do with the fact that my wife signed up for a bread baking course. Bloomer is a rounded, hand made cartoon-ish font. It will look especially good on product packaging, but any design in need of some authenticity could do with a bit of Bloomer! Comes with ligatures and a light dusting of alternates.
