Over the years I have bought many books and music CDs in persuit of my passion for African and Latin (and especially Afro-Latin) cultures. I've noticed that a great number of these books and CDs feature either of two popular display fonts that are, in my opinion, very much overused. As an alternative, I designed Tambor. The Tambor family includes seven styles.

Naratif is a condensed display based on an early 1900 sans-serifs and gothic faces and it has 7 weights including italic. Great for anything big and for not so small text or display. With a wide range of latin support, and OpenType features such as Small Caps, Fractions, Alternates Character, Inferior and Arrows.

A carefully drawn geometric typeface. Exacting angles are combined with smooth corner details to form a clean, legible font with a modern appearance. Marcher is a modern display type family in 10 weights plus matching true italics. Designed for an impactful and stylish visual impression especially on logos and posters. Marcher has OpenType features like fractions, numerators, denominators, tabular numbers, stylistic alternates and 12 stylistic sets.

Madisonian has been found in a catalogue of the New York Bruce type-foundry, dated 1859. The lower cases have the feeling of a Bodoni Italic and the initials have a "spencerian" touch. This font did exist originaly in a single weight. The family has been extended with a bold and an engraved version.

Pancetta Serif Pro is a squarish serif typeface – a natural companion to Pancetta Pro. Its skeleton is a blend of modern serif and slab faces, featuring prominent obtuse pillow-shaped serifs. The family has 8 weights, (including italics) and is ideally suited for logo, branding and creative industries, music and nightlife as well as poster and billboards. FF Manga provides advanced typographical support with features such as ligatures. It comes with proportional lining figures.

Botobe is a new script from Swedish type designer Bo Berndal and the T4 font foundry. Botobe is a playful and friendly script that has lots of character. It gives text a genuine handwritten style and comes in two different cuts, regular and italic. It is an OpenType creation, for both PC and Mac.

Hoplight is a friendly, curvy, hybrid. A fusion of the cool character of a roman, with the flow and informality of an italic. Throughout Hoplight, many sharp serifs have been replaced by dot style serifs, to allow the contours of the letters to flow seamlessly into the terminations. Hoplight embodies a sense of playful ease.

Signate Grotesk comes in 9 weights. The dimensions are synchronous from Thin to Black and are also equipped with an Italic style of 12 degrees. Equipped with Cyrillic characters will provide good language support. Can stand alone or as a support for other typography. Very versatile for writing official documents, logotypes, product branding, website design.

The family has 12 weights, ranging from Regular to Bold (including italics) and is ideally suited for festive occasions and poster and billboards. FF Matto provides advanced typographical support with features such as ligatures and case-sensitive forms. It comes with proportional oldstyle figures.

Neue Konstrukteur Round is an engineered, mechanical typewriter font with a hint of heritage blackletter. Inspired by a trip to Germany this font has five weights from Thin to Black with accompanying italics. That makes 10 font files in total, enough for the most demanding projects. Also check out its sister font Neue Konstrukteur Square.

Andis’ rough cut makes it an interesting display typeface, but thanks to its generous x-height and firm serifs, Andis works equally well in text sizes. The typeface’s idiosyncratic italic builds a strong contrast with the roman. Andis is both functional and expressive; using it lends a humanistic touch to editorial or advertising work.
