Chapeau is loosely inspired by a Johnny Cash letter written on an old IBM typewriter. The original typeface called “Doric” was a rare example of a proportionally aligned typewriter face, supplied by IBM in the late 1960s. Based on simple geometric shapes, Chapeau is a low contrast sans-serif with rounded endings. The letterforms have been carefully aligned to avoid exceeding width and to achieve an efficient, contemporary appearance.

A nixie tube is a technology from the 50’s used to display numerals that are composed by metal filaments that light up much like a lamp bulb. Due to their beauty these little numerals (0-9) are a love case for any designer, and formally it’s where the inspiration for the Nixin typeface came from. All the other typeface characters and weights are an interpretation from the original 10 numerals, always keeping the same minimalistic spirit and formal elegance. Nixin is a geometric and regular typeface, with a vintage touch and a bit of modernism.

Designed for Linotype Library GMBH and the International Typeface Corporation in 1997 by Phil Grimshaw. Based on bold script Banco designed by French graphic and poster designer Roger Excoffon and released in 1952 by the Fonderie Olive. Originally Banco was an all-caps bold typeface, and the lower case and the corresponding light weight were created for ITC. The tapering slightly slanted strokes of Banco made by sharp-edged flat brush. The face has the effect of being quickly sketched by a powerful hand. For use in advertising and display typography. Cyrillic version developed for ParaType in 2000 by Tagir Safayev.

American type designer Guy Jeffrey Nelson created this script FontFont in 1994. The family contains 4 weights: Regular, Italic, Bold, and Bold Italic and is ideally suited for advertising and packaging, festive occasions, poster and billboards as well as web and screen design. FF Providence provides advanced typographical support with features such as ligatures, small capitals, alternate characters, case-sensitive forms, and stylistic alternates. Dimensions is redesigned font family based on Blackout font released as free font in 2005. The original blackout has been used especially for company or brand logo of fashion and music label in the world. In 2011, Blackout had evolved into this Dimensions font family of seven weights with roman and italics. They are one of the most condensed, black and skinny font in the world. All weights and italics have upper and lower cases, accented characters and small capital glyphs that can be used with OpenType smcp feature. There is high contrast version called Speedometer.

Rapier, designed by Martin Wait for ITC in 1989, is an impulsive, energetic script font with strong ties to the brush and advertisement typefaces of hte 1940s. The zestful capitals contrast with small, narrow lower case letters, lending the font its dynamism and liveliness. Desinger Wait reached the energetic, almost aggressive feel of Rapier with snappy base forms and especially with ascending strokes. For an optimal look it is advisable to set Rapier's forms near to one another, so that the ends of the strokes of one figure touch the beginning of the next. Rapier is best used for headlines and short texts.

I raise chickens for eggs and meat. I usually buy fertilised eggs online and place them in my incubator, which says that it is 'fully automatic'. Of course I added that rather random introduction to tell you how I came up with the name for this new font... Fully Automatic is a handmade cartoon font: I used a sharpie pen to draw the glyphs onto rough paper. The result is a wobbly, yet quite clean cartoon font. Fully automatic comes with extensive language support and two sets of alternates for the lower case glyphs that cycle as you type.

Pistol Twelve JNL is a novelty version of Jeff Levine's Twelve Oaks JNL wood type font, with the addition of random bullet holes in the upper case characters. The font design was suggested by fellow type designer Ray Larabie. Pistol Twelve JNL is a two-fold pun. Initially, this conveys the obvious fact that the design is a variation of Twelve Oaks JNL with bullet holes... but the name is also a play on an old, old joke. One person asks the other: "Would you care to join the Pistol Club? You drink 'til twelve and..." Well, you get the picture!

Polish type designer Lukasz Dziedzic created this display and sans FontFont in 2009. The family has 18 weights, ranging from Thin to Black in Condensed, Normal, and Wide and is ideally suited for editorial and publishing, music and nightlife as well as poster and billboards. Pooper Black Pro is based on a brush ethic and has an extreme axis that lends a certain amount of speed to the font while the lack of connectors slows it down. The pro version expands on the original and popular Pooper Black with the addition of full Central and Eastern European character sets and plenty of alternate characters for those who have applications that support Opentype features. Almost all of the lower case characters now include an in stroke and out stroke version for greater design flexibility. A wonderful face for packaging, titling, and short bursts of text.

The inspiration for this font came from a wall-writing in Cuba. At first glance we thought: "There is something wrong with the wall-writing." But a closer look revealed, that it just mixed up different stroke-styles. That "feature" became the designing principle behind CA Segundo: Round characters like O, U or C are available either with a fat or a thin stroke, whereas other characters with orthogonal lines come in two different styles – uppercase characters emphasize the vertical strokes, while lower cases emphasize the horizontal strokes. This gives you the opportunity to design just while you type.

German type designer Albert-Jan Pool created this sans FontFont in 1995. Advertiser JNL is a simple A-Z only font used to make retro-styled titles and names. Based on a popular style of retail signage from the 1950s and 1960s, alternating keystrokes will create a contrast of positive and negative letters. The capital letters have the alphabet in white on black boxes, the lower case have the black letters alone—with the white space conforming to the width of the black boxes. In a pinch, the boxed characters can also be used as initial caps. For a more complete character set with the same style of lettering, use DuBois Block JNL.

My son Sam turned 12 and all of a sudden he cares for his hairdo. It needs to be just so, not too long, not too short, with a lot of gel to hold it in place. ;-) He just had a haircut when I was creating this font, so now you know where the Haircut part comes from. The Holistic part is something that sort of sounded ok. Holistic Haircut is a nice, handmade display font. It comes with wider and narrower glyphs for the upper and lower case AND a set of alternates that likes to party with the rest.

Karin's free reinterpretation of the early Renaissance Lombardic tradition, in two different versions. In the upper case the fill is blacker and has a straight pattern with diamond elements; in the lower case the fill is thinner with more white space and has a wavy pattern with rounded elements.

Unusual decorative capitals from embroidery work in a German church. Upper case has a diamond-shaped frame around each letter; lower case is just the letters without the diamond frame; and the ampersand gives just the diamond frame so you can use a different colour from the letter.

P22 Tuscan Expanded is a digitization of the mid-19th Century Woodtype font "Antique Tuscan Expanded - Wells & Webb 1854". Specimens of this font are rarely, if ever, seen with a lower case. It is noted in the book American Wood Type 1828-1900 by Rob Roy Kelly that the lower case is "missing". This version was digitized from a recently discovered full set including all lower case plus ff ligatures. One unique feature of this design is the heart shape formed in the V, X & Y.

OakPark is a decorative or display family with an Art-Deco feel. It has high contrast with very thick stems that invite decoration. Eight members of the family have interior decoration and can be used individually or in layers over the regular style and under hollow style to create colorful text displays. These ten members are all-caps, but about half of the letters on the lower-case keys differ in some way from their counterparts on the upper-case keys. There is also a shadowed style and it can be layered with a shadowinside style. Completing the family are a style that has true lower case characters with an accompanying italics, and a style that has small caps on the lower-case keys.

Weaving is a family in which the letters fit together so that wavy lines separate them both horizontally and vertically. It creates this effect by alternating letters on upper-case keys with those on lower-case letters and this alternating is done automatically in applications that support the OpenType feature of contextual alternatives (calt). (The upper-case can be used alone but it unlikely that the lower-case characters could be used by themselves.) The family is a thinner and condensed version of the typeface Woven, but in condensing it, the tessellation properties that a were in Woven are lost. It is a decorative display face but because there are few typefaces similar to it, it is hard to predict what uses it may have. Be creative!

Letrinth is a bold, informal sans-serif face. Its lower case is unusual in design; some of the characters are scaled versions of the upper-case letters. It was developed from a special alphabet I used to construct a maze and its name (LETters for a labyRINTH) reflects that origin.

In the two ChainLetter fonts all characters are made from chains links. ChainLetter uses smaller chain links than ChainLetterAlt and as a result is easier to read. Both are caps-only typefaces, but some of the letters on the lower-case keys differ from those on the upper-case keys.

The faces of IanSegoe were early attempts by IngrimayneType to construct medieval-looking faces. They drew inspiration from several medieval-themed fonts that were available at the time (1990). The upper-case letters are similar but not identical in the two faces but the lower-case letters are completely different.

Roma Initial Caps JNL is a set of alphabet caps drawn from elegant lettering found in an old sign painter's manual. The upper case keys have the letters in white on black backgrounds, while the lower case has the letters in black on a white background with a black border.

When merely “extended” just would not do, here is Paragraph Stretch™: a super extended or elongated geometric display typeface. 26 Mythical or mysterious Creatures. A highly decorative font where each creature form the letters A to Z. The upper case letters have detailed creatures/letters while the lower case hold silhouettes of the same creatures. Whatnot is a beautiful, hand drawn all caps font. It was made with a fine-liner on smooth paper. Whatnot can be used for almost all designs, in particular for posters, books and ads. Whatnot comes with a full range of alternate lower case letters and upper and lower case are freely interchangeable.

Attaboy is a posh word for ‘well done’. It was made with a broken marker pen to give it that ‘eroded’ look. It is an all caps typeface, but upper and lower case can be mixed. Attaboy comes with stylistic alternates for the lower case glyphs and all the diacritics you need.

Moranga is a contemporary, serif, retro-style typeface with a strong personality. Hangman's Delight is a scratchy, all caps font. The upper case letters come with swirls and curls, but the lower case letters are unadorned. A bit of an unusual font, I admit, but it would look nice on book covers and posters. Comes with some ligatures and stylistic alternates and a whole bunch of diacritics.

OldHaroldRee is a modification of PhederFrack, a calligraphic fraktur face. It keeps the lower case letters and inserts a completely different set of upper-case letters, which is in the “Old English” rather than the “Old German” or fraktur style. It comes in two weights, a bit unusual for an Old-English style typeface.
