Within the pages of the April 16, 1938 issue of Liberty Magazine was found a hand lettered condensed typeface with a fun attitude that’s perfect for casual and informal titling. Because the art of lettering allows for taking liberties with letterforms, and as this came from Liberty Magazine as an inspiration source, it was only fitting that the typeface would be named Taking Liberties JNL. It is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Doire is a monowidth font based on the face used on the old Royal Gaelic manual typewriter. Doire Royal is a “rough” version of that font. Doire was first digitized in 1993 by Michael Everson and originally used the MacGaelic character set on the Macintosh platform, and ISO/IEC 8859-14 on the PC. In 2008 Doire version 3 was released in OpenType format, completely compliant with Unicode encoding and with an extended character set.

The 225 glyphs that make “Spina Typeface” are the result of experience with hundreds of drawings, sketches and digital tests in seeking to achieve a typeface that represents the fluidity of the script and elegance of the modern roman. Slipstream font was developed by Letraset Type Studio in response to the growing need to convey competence and speed through typography. It is based on an italic sans serif letterform and its horizontal lines look like streaks left behind letters speeding to the right. Characters can be slightly overlapped for small spaces without losing this feeling of movement. Slipstream font is ideal for service-oriented advertisements, especially where efficiency and quick service should be emphasized.

Pietra is a Baroque-inspired, all-majuscule type design, based on the massive five-foot tall mosaic lettering high above the floor in St. Peters in Rome. The font includes two sets of capitals: full sized, proportioned on the actual lettering; and small capitals, scaled vertically to capture the foreshortened effect of viewing the lettering from the floor. It was designed by Garrett Boge in 1996. Pietra is part of the LetterPerfect Baroque Set.

Caravan was designed in 1938 by William Addison Dwiggins and consists of a variety of ornaments. He based the forms of the ornaments on the same lines and curves found in his font Electra. He wanted printers and designers to have the chance to combine the two fonts for a more attractive or outstanding overall picture. Caravan is particularly popular for advertisements in newspapers. Caravan can be easily mixed with other fonts designed by Dwiggins.

Kroppen Round is a geometric, stencil-style font based on Talbot Type Kaleko Round, and is available in four weights. Kroppen is not strictly a stencil font given that several characters, notably the O, are not stencilled. The design has more to do with achieving each character from a single stroke, or series of single strokes. Kroppen Round features an extended character set to include accented characters for additional Central European languages.

Colcothar is a font based on a calligraphic alphabet I ofter use for my comic books, my film title sequences, or my notebooks. It made sense to turn it into a font, especially since it looks hand-written and quality fonts that look hand-written are sometimes hard to find. It will look great as a header for an article, for a logo, the title of a film… or for anything you think appropriate!

This font was inspired by the old form of the so called "Kurrentschrift" German handwriting, based on late medieval cursive. It is also known as "Alte Deutsche schrift" ("Old German script"). It was taught in German schools until 1941, when Adolf Hitler decided to forbid it. As it is a little hard to read, we are proposing here two versions: the "pure" Kurrentschrift, and an adapted "Easy" one, with simplified difficult characters.

Rulinover is a serif font inspired by adrenaline-pumping gothic horror movies and games. With that comes Rulinover as a supporting tool to support typography based on genres of horror adventure, challenge and dare in a particular game or film. This font is based on the handwriting of Norwegian painter Edvard Munch. Using his many letters, drafts, notes- and sketchbooks as reference, this font characterizes the elegant yet sometimes quite irregular writing style Munch had. To resemble naturalistic writing and remain as authentic as possible, a combination of extended ligatures and alternates has been included, as well as Swash characters (accessible via open-type). Additionally, several of Munch's paintings and woodcuts are embedded as extras.

Norwich Aldine Reverse is a font of "streamer type" (reversed out type used for banners or streamers) originally designed around 1872. Norwich Aldine is slightly lighter and more open than Aldine. It features medium stroke contrast, heavy serifs, and large rounded bracketing (where the stems meet the serifs). Our version is based on wood type of unknown origin. We created dozens of special ligatures to reduce problematic kerning encountered with a monospaced reversed type.

Pixter straddles the lines between the extreme forms of grid based pixel fonts, and more conventional grotesque fonts. Its array of styles create a palette of textures to work with multiple scenarios, from large format display to oversized passages of copy. Inspiration for Pixter initially grew from old computer bitmap fonts, but branched out into Swiss and Dutch graphic design, such as the graphic work of Josef Müller-Brockmann and typography of Wim Crouwel.

Sugar Medley was originally inspired by piped icing writing on celebratory cakes. It lends itself to any project requiring a ‘controlled messy’, fun feel. This font is a very new typeface from 2022. It is based on biro pen writings. The name Hanka is the nick of the designer’s daughter. The family has seven weights (straight and oblique), which are OpenType sets with PostScript curves. Features include ligatures (classical and discretionary), number formats (tabular/proportional, lining/old style), fractions, old-style formats, stylistic alternates, and kerning. MayPole is a contemporary, 21st century, sans serif font, that contains an eclectic mix of elements from the 20th century. It combines gentle curves with base and caps-line transgressions but is substantially more rounded than in most commercial-style sans serif faces. Terminal strokes are slightly rounded and occasional elements are strongly rounded. MayPole is readable and can be successfully used for presentations, magazines etc, and for display use in newspapers, advertising and promotions.

Black Crow is a display sans-serif type family includes eight weights. It is influenced by the geometric-style sans-serif faces that were popular during the 1920s and 30s. The styles are based on geometric forms that have been optically corrected for better legibility. Black Crow has a functional look with a hard touch. An original typeface designed for ParaType in 2004 by Armenian designer Manvel Shmavonyan. Based on the lettering created in 1970s by outstanding Armenian type designer Henrik Mnatsakanyan (1923-2001) of the same name. In Armenian 'Bardi' means 'Poplar'. Extra compressed decorative stenciled typeface. Its letterforms resemble many Neo-Classicism extra compressed faces and magazine lettering of the 1950s-60s. For use in advertising and display typography especially in magazine headlines and logos.

The chestnut ("castanea") is one of my favorite trees. I used to collect the chestnuts and made chestnut-figurines out of them, using bamboo sate skewers. Castanea font is a calligraphic typeface with an uneven baseline and some messy characters - not unlike the tree. It is a highly legible, highly enjoyable font and could be used for children's books and postcards. Castanea comes with various alternate glyphs and speaks most Roman-based languages!

Fondamento and Fondamento Italic are calligraphic lettering styles based on the traditional Foundational Hand, a basic teaching style created by Edward Johnston in the early 20th century. The letterforms are clear and cleanly legible, basic and formal. Opentype features include: - Stylistic Alternates for a collection of alternate Small Caps - Full set of Inferiors and Superiors for limitless fractions - Lining and Proportional figure sets, several discretionary ligatures/alternates as well as a collection of ligatures.

This rugged typeface is based on letterforms in the Cherokee Syllabary, reputedly devised by a gentleman named Sequoyah in the early nineteenth century. In addition, Native American petroglyphs—some authentic Cherokee designs, some from other tribes—are included in several positions. The name of the typeface, however, is authentic Cherokee, and can be loosely translated as “Yo! Wuzzup?” Both versions of the font include 1252 Latin, 1250 CE (with localization for Romanian and Moldovan).

Arnold Boecklin is a true Art Nouveau font, evocative of outdoor cafes in the years prior to World War l. Arnold Boecklin seems to be telling a story, with its decorative curves and varying emphasis of strokes. The Arnold Boecklin font should be used for specific copy as in headlines or advertisements, bearing in mind its strong design. Arnold Boecklin is a trademark of Linotype GmbH and may be registered in certain jurisdictions.

In the heyday of "Tin Pan Alley", a song plugger was one whose job it was to bring a publisher's song to the attention of performers, show producers and radio station executives; the forerunner of the promotion man who visited disk jockeys with new record releases in the hopes of getting them played on the air. Song Plugger JNL was based on hand lettering spotted on some late-1920s-early 1930s sheet music.

Here’s a revised and updated version of one of my oldies, based on the typeface Chic, designed by Morris Fuller Benton. The addition of small caps, improved kerning, and an expanded character set make this one an excellent choice for projects that demand grace, elegance and a bit of mischievous fun. This font contains the complete Latin language character set (Unicode 1252) plus support for Central European (Unicode 1250) languages as well.

Secca Art recovers some of the expressive forms of early art nouveau and art deco grotesques — not copying it, but carefully adapting it for today. Secca Art is based on the Secca typeface family and is full interchangeable. Both are equal in weights, widths and word spacing, so you can decide to give your layout a more expressive or serious look. If you need Italic styles just use the Italics from Secca .

The typeface of Quan Slim is based on the successful Quan font family by font foundry Typesketchbook. Font designer Chatnarong Jingsuphatada created Quan Slim as a condensed version to Quan. Both type families consist of eight weights plus obliques and additional rounded versions. Quan Slim’s typeface has a clean and modern sans serif appearance. This modern geometric font is very legible and can be used for headlines as well as small and long text.

This rugged rascal is based on at old ATF “original” design called “Hearst” (although Frederic Goudy claimed it was a pirated version of one of his designs). Its commanding, rough-hewn character makes it suitable for headlines, but its large x-height makes it practical for subheads as well. Available in roman and italic versions. Both versions of this font include the complete Unicode 1252 Latin and Unicode 1250 Central European character sets.

Muffin is a soft and rounded humanistic low-contrast sans serif based on broad nib writing. It comes in five weights ranging from Regular to Black. The friendly character of the font becomes even more pronounced in the darkest styles. Muffin is well suited for food packaging, menus, children's products, while Regular may be easily used for long runs of text. The font was designed by Natalia Vasilyeva and released by Paratype in 2017.

Conamore is a new Humanist Sans family. It consists of 16 styles (8 weights and 8 italics). The structure of the typeface is in a position that is neither too modern nor too classic. It was based on humanist frame and style, but we controlled the shape and removed potential eyesores so it can be easily recognized. These characteristics are suitable for the design requirements, such as editorial design, packaging, branding and display.
