A Bocadillo is a sandwich. I guess I was craving one when I had to name this font! Bocadillo is a sweet Brush script. It is all caps, but upper and lower case are different and like to mingle. It is an ideal font for product packaging, posters, book covers, postcards and big ‘I love you’ billboards. Comes with a generous helping of diacritics.

Commuters Sans is a daily type. Classic but Modern. Very simple geometry and wide type with warm clearness. Useful for both body-text and titling by their minimal glyph shapes and slightly wide and eye-catching proportion. Consists of eight weights and their matching italics. Supporting almost all latin languages. All-caps text for one line or a few is as wonderful as normal mixed-case typesetting.

British Empire is an attempt to re-create some of the typographic characterisics of countries within the former British Empire. It is a sans-serif with unusual up-facing serifs on some of the caps and the lower case round characters have flick round terminals Though designed as a headline face it still works well in limited text. There are four weights with four corresponding italics.

Madita started with the idea of an upright sans script. Unlike other script typefaces, some of the characters look fairly constructed. The endings are either vertical or horizontal. On the other hand there are the swashes of a flowing script woven into the sans stroke that create an interesting tension. Madita is surprisingly legible, even in smaller sizes. The upper case letters even work in all caps.

Skeleton Slab brings a new elegance to a classic form. I was thinking of calling it Ozymanidias, after Shelley’s poem, because it evokes memories of ancient runic inscriptions, but then I thought that was maybe a bit pretentious, and I decided I'd keep it simple and descriptive. Besides, I wasn't sure how to spell Ozymandias! Skeleton Slab has small caps in place of lower case.

Running Hipster is a tall, thin and all caps font with a funny name. The upper and lower case letters differ and can be mixed. You don’t necessarily have to use it to market your free range sheep woolen jumpers or organic button squash and soy based sour cream soup, feel free to use it for just about anything. Comes with a vintage amount of diacritics.

The Sidetic language is a member of the extinct Anatolian branch of the Indo-European language family known from legends of coins dating to the period of approximately the 5th to 3rd centuries BCE found in Side at the Pamphylian coast, and two Greek–Sidetic bilingual inscriptions from the 3rd and 2nd centuries BCE respectively. The Greek historian Arrian in his Anabasis Alexandri (mid-2nd century CE) mentions the existence of a peculiar indigenous language in the city of Side. Sidetic was probably closely related to Lydian, Carian and Lycian. The Sidetic script is an alphabet of the Anatolian group. It has about 25 letters, only a few of which are clearly derived from Greek. Consensus is growing that the script has essentially been deciphered.

Hard Rain is named after the torrential thunderstorms that occur in the subtropical regions on the east coast of southern Africa -- the land of the Zulu. During the two-month long rainy season the steamy downpour usually lasts for a few days, and is then followed by the welcoming sun. The diagonal stripes represent the heavy drops of water that drench everything they touch. The resulting font has something of a grunge look to it. As with other grunge fonts, Hard Rain is best used for posters and display work. However, the crisp edges mean that it can be very readable even if used at a small size. Unlike most grunge fonts, Hard Rain has a full character set and this greatly extends its usability.

This time I touched another classic manuscript for my font. The Lindisfarne Gospels is an illuminated manuscript probably produced around the years 715–720 in the monastery at Lindisfarne, off the coast of Northumberland. It’s the work of a monk named Eadfrith. He was a highly trained calligrapher, and he used insular majuscule script in the manuscript. Woodford Bourne is a brand new 19th century grotesque typeface. The design is a tribute to the historic stone cast type in the building façades of the former Woodford, Bourne & Co. in Cork City, Ireland. For many years I had admired the type’s simplicity and strength, so I decided to faithfully reproduce those letters and expand them to a fully working font with 500 glyphs per case. A key feature of Woodford Bourne is the ability to change the feel of your typography with just one click. Switch from contemporary to vintage style by selecting “Stylistic Set 1” – this gives Woodford Bourne a unique versatility which I am sure you will enjoy playing with in your designs. It is a solid, reliable “workhorse” font family that reproduces well at all sizes… it’s also great for branding and identities. These font files (v2) were redrawn and updated in April 2021 (v1 created 2015).

The Superior Marking Equipment Company was originally located in Chicago, Illinois and over the years produced a line of both commercial and toy rubber stamp printing sets which were used for making signs, posters, tickets and other printed items. Rough Print JNL reproduces the scanned images printed from one of the toy rubber stamp sets. The sample characters were smaller than one half inch in height and were further reduced during scanning. This gives the end result of a typeface which looks like rubber stamp imprints at small sizes, and very angular, distorted, somewhat grunge type when printed at larger sizes. There is a limited character set consisting of alphabet, numerals, some punctuation and currency symbols. No kerning was added to keep the hand-made appeal. Rough Print JNL is an all caps font with the letters and numbers jogged randomly on both the caps and lower case keystrokes. For a similar design with lower case, Amateur Printer JNL is recommended.

Dufour was named in honor of an art deco font called "Independent" designed in the 1930s by Collette and Dufour. "Dufour" is influenced by the original font, however, there are substantial differences: instead of small caps, a true lower case was created, the upper case character proportions and shapes have been greatly modified, and all missing characters have been created to make a truly modern font which nevertheless has all of the panache of the original. A related font is Collette, designed by Anton Scholtz, however, Dufour has a softer feel that is more true to the original art deco period. Dufour comes in four styles: Dufour Regular, Dufour Regular Outline, Dufour Condensed, and Dufour Condensed Outline. The font has been carefully kerned and best results are obtained if kerning is switched on. (All-caps passages work well.) It is best used to create a retro feel and in headings, subheads and in short passages of text. Very effective in marketing for products for children.

The Roundup family was inspired by fonts from the late 19th century, though it is not based on any one of them. Roundup-Caps was the first of the group to be constructed. It has two sets of upper-case letters that have minor differences. It has reverse contrast, that is, the verticals are thinner than the horizontals. Unlike most of the "Old-West" fonts with reverse contrast, the serifs are not square but have an odd, rounded shape. Roundup-Regular replaced the second set of caps with lower-case letters. A bold style strengthens the vertical elements so that it no longer has reverse contrast. Both the regular and bold styles have matching oblique styles. Finally, there is a hollow version with a shadow to the lower right. This shadowed style has had its inside taken out, creating RoundUp-ShadowInside. The spacing is the same as RoundUpShadowed so it can be layered over RoundUpShadowed to easily create two-colored lettering.

Cassius & Cassius Italic are a postmodern typeface system from the Garaldes family. The main characteristic of this type family is its inverted anatomy and projected terminals. Cassius was meticulously designed with special focus on its structure. With its proposal for a fresh, attractive and rhythmic system, Cassius gives great personality to all kinds of composition. The family consists of 5 weights from regular to black, with respective Italics. Each instance includes; Case sensitives Accents, Ligatures, Fractions, Small Caps, Old Style Figures, Case Sensitives (symbols and punctuation) and more. This font is perfect for books and magazines compositions, and in general for the construction of immersive printed or digital texts.

This small family can be counted as 4 fonts in 2. Because both weights contain small caps, 12 sets of stylistic alternates, and a decorative swashed form. That’s not counting dozens of ligatures in both multilingual latin and Cyrillic scripts. Plus ordinals, case-sensitive forms, and manual hinting. Due to its geometric nature, designers can manipulate vectors to change letters' dimensions for logotypes. They may seem modular, but every glyph was shaped individually to give handmade imperfections, reminiscent of wood type press. This allows for plenty of details at large sizes. Regular versions are multilingual but include only standard ligatures and case-sensitive forms.

In June of 2004, Canada Type released Crucifix, a condensed three-tiers typeface that tried to bridge the gap between traditional blackletter forms and the traditional European gothics. The main goal of Crucifix was to have as many as 4 different variations on each letter form, so the original release consisted of three fonts: a main font with a standard character set, a small caps set, and a unicase variation. Now Canada Type presents the next generation of this typeface: Crucifix 2.0 and Crucifix Pro. This new version takes advantage of both Unicode and OpenType technologies to make Crucifix as versatile as ever. Manicuore is a hand-drawn typeface inspired by Italian movie posters by the prolific movie poster artist Symeoni (a.k.a. Sandro Simeoni). Being a talented and skilled painter, portraitist and illustrator, Symeoni enjoyed a long and fruitful career and was remarkably productive during the sixties and seventies. He counts over 3,000 works to his credit, which truly fed the imagination of several generations. Drystick is a Sans Serif typographic family of Geo-Grotesque style with 8 pesos plus the italic versions all include small capital letters the symbol of Bitcoin (b #) and other cryptocurrency symbols. It is a geometric typography, minimalist, with neo-grotesque modulations. The typeface has alternative letters and numbers, small caps and advanced OpenType functions. The Italic versions have some of their own characters (&, @, Q, a, g, y), these versions have many optical corrections to balance the deformations created in many curves by the mere inclination of the letters, which in the case of This typography is 9 °. The drawn of the vectors is careful to obtain smooth curves and elegant appearance, the thicker versions have ink traps in the joints of the joints to use in small sizes. The Metric and the Kerning of all the versions I have reviewed individually to obtain maximum readability in any type of text and size.

The characteristic ‘French face’ was originally made in 1899 under the supervision of Joseph Pinel. Thus, what was originally French 10 pt. Nº 2, got its present name. The Frenchman Joseph Pinel called himself a "typographical engineer", but was at the time employed as a type draughtsman at the Linotype Works in Altrincham. It appears that this and some other faces that he supervised, were, except for use on the Linotype, also meant for manufacturing matrices for the Dyotype. This composing machine was an invention of Pinel. The Dyotype was a rather complicated machine and consisted, like the Monotype, of two separate contraptions, a keyboard which produced a perforated paper ribbon and a casting machine which produced justified lines of movable type. Unlike the Monotype which has a square matrix carrier, the Dyotype had the matrices on a drum (in fact two drums, hence the name of the machine). A Pinel Diotype company was founded in Paris and a machine was built with the help of the printing press manufacturer Jules Derriey. As is often the case, a lack of sufficient capital prevented the commercializing of this ingenious composing machine. Coen Hofmann digitized the font from a batch of very incomplete, damaged and musty drawings, which he dug up in Altrincham. He redrew all characters, bringing up the hairstrokes somewhat in the process. The result is a roman and italic, while the roman font also includes Small Caps

Delikat is a graceful, finely crafted, slinky, slightly retro, somewhat quirky script font. Normative Lt is a sans serif type family by Green Type, a low cost version of Normative Pro, includes only a Unicode Latin 1252 character set. Normative Lt is a font with wide sphere of application, legible from very small size to very large ones. Can be used both in technical documentation, office work, business communication, as well as in advertising, visual communication, magazines and posters, in branding and packaging.

The typeface Ruano was inspired from “Lettera cancelleresca formata” by the Vatican calligrapher Ferdinando Ruano, carved and cast in 1926 by Nebiolo of Turin on the advice of Raffaello Bertieri who designed the capital letters and numbers, missing in the original. The difficulty of the design of this chancery font lies in its original vertical layout, bending the calligraphic harmonies to the Gothic style, thus distinguishing it from contemporary cursive alphabets.

Taurunum Ferrum is a version of Taurunum family, made to feel like it’s been cast in iron or cut out of steel plates. It is meant to be used in a bold display setting where raw and strong look is a priority. The Iron style has an medieval (blackletter) flavour, while Steel has more of a contemporary look. Taurunum Ferrum has a character set to support Western and Central European languages.
