To expand this already handy typeface's versatility, a Black weight has been added to the original design. The inspiration source for Tryst Monogram is a showcard script (capitals only) from the 1912 A Show at Showcards book by Atkinson & Atkinson. What began as 26 referenced script letters became an over 800 character font in order to create its unique cameo effect! Tryst Monogram can create one, two, or three letter monograms as well as a unique two letter cameo monogram style - made by simply typing two lowercase letters in a row (using OpenType Ligatures). Ballasticus is a controversial bold grotesque for logos, big headlines, posters, signage, gyms, and bodybuilders. The outer contour of the beech is rounded, while the inner space is square. The font contains two barbell icons that can be immediately inserted into your company logo. The character of Ballasticus is honest, stable, open, grounded like a weight. I came across an old book called ‘Studio Handbook Letter And Design For Artists And Advertisers’ by Samuel Welo. Samuel Welo was an American advertising calligrapher, typographer and lettering artist, who was most active during the roaring twenties. Lenox Avenue is my version of a set of letters in that book. It was handmade (just like Welo had done). I only had an ABC/abc to work with, so I designed all the remaining glyphs myself. I changed some of the original (and quite quirky) letters to a more contemporary form. The font is named Lenox Avenue, once home of the famous Savoy Ballroom. Comes with all the bells & whistles.
