A former lettering artist at Hallmark Cards, Rob Leuschke now has his own thriving design businesses, Alphabytes and the new TypeSETit. Growing up in St Charles, Missouri, where he still lives, Rob showed great artistic promise at an early age. He earned a BFA in graphic design at the University of Missouri at Columbia. After graduation, his stint at Hallmark Cards gave him the opportunity to learn from and work with some of the best lettering artists in the industry. Rob struck out on his own in 1987 and now boasts a long list of clients from all over the world. Rob has created over 250 custom typefaces, and his work has been exhibited in New York. Ambiance BT is Rob’s first typeface published by Bitstream, with more to follow.

Artime is a dynamic display font based on strong graphic elements with rectilinear forms. P22 Symphony is a romantic decorative script originally called Zephyr featuring extra flourishes on the capitals. Useful for lines of display in advertising, packaging etc. or for small extracts of poetry.

Brushwork is a free-flowing brush font that combines a modern aesthetic with a very unique style. Cyan Neue is a substantial update variation to the original Cyan we launched in 2006. Most notably the contrast has decreased making it more contemporary. Many glyphs have been improved especially in the italics. The design of Cyan Neue was inspired by features found in classic Roman. It shows a preference for geometric Roman proportions while incorporating open centers (B,P,R) and compact serifs. The characters stay true to the same features as the capitals, resulting in an unusually distinctive style. There are many subtle details in Cyan Neue that become more interesting in display sizes, for instance the subtle curves in the serifs and the overall smoothness.
