After watching a bunch of Danish series like Dicte, Bron and The Killing, I figured it would be nice to give my newest font a Danish name. It became Hyggelig. Hyggelig, like the Dutch word 'Gezellig', cannot be translated into English, but it means something like 'cosy'. And a 'cosy' font it is. Hyggelig is a very cute, very threedee-ish typeface. It works great in poster ads and as a display font. It comes with upper and lower case letters and a whole bunch of diacritics. Enjoy!

Cinnabar Brush is a font named after a mineral - mercury sulfide to be precise. I quite like the name and the color, so naming a font after it made sense. Cinnabar Brush is a very bold, very outspoken brush font. It is all caps, but upper and lower case glyphs differ and can be mixed. It is a bit on the heavy side, so I wouldn't set a text in it. Use Cinnabar Brush for posters, book covers, T-shirts and the like. Comes with a mother lode of diacritics.

ITC Binary was designed by Mauricio Reyes in 1997 as a semiserif font with a pronounced stroke contrast. A distinguishing characteristic of this font is that many of the lower case letters seem to be missing a small piece of their forms, either at the base line or x-height. Koala was originally designed in 1999 by Eric de Berranger with an individual, independent character. A distinguishing characteristic of this sans serif font is its marked stroke contrast, typical of Modern Face fonts. The open, airy forms are reminiscent of ancient Roman capitals. The lower case letters display traits similar to those often seen on posters and in advertisements of the 1930s and 1940s. The lively Koala is particularly good for shorter texts and headlines in larger point sizes and combines well with fonts with little stroke contrast.

One of my favorite blackletter fonts - Schwabacher - redrawn and redesigned, whereby I took care to stick to the original forms as close as possible. This font which has its roots in the 15th century represents at the most the uprising humanism in this period. To get access to all ligatures, it is recommended to activate both Standard and Discretionary Ligatures. By using the OT feature Stylistic Alternatives you get the historical German umlauts which are small e above a, o, u, A, O, and U. This font contais also oldstyle figures.

Last year I walked half of Offa’s Dyke path, a long distance trail on the Welsh/English border. Walking the trail, I came across a beautiful stretch of forest with a lovely name: Cadora Woods. Cadora Woods font was made with a Japanese brush pen. It sort of looks medieval and a friend of mine suggested it would be the font of choice for maps of ‘The Shire’. I guess that is true, but I am convinced you can come up with some innovative uses for this font!

Introducing a new clean signatures script called Bresley. A heavy block sans in chrome and solid variants. The high lower-case x-height and short ascenders and descenders permit tight line spacing for an impactful, punchy effect. The chrome variant works well at larger sizes and in shorter settings.

Aorta was designed for independent subcultural zine. It have stencil in place of lower-case and digit stencil in place of old style digit. Aorta good for headlines, posters, editorial design... Aorta have condensed proportion and good in solid matter.

This is a radically modernized uncial with many OpenType features and 415 characters: Caps, lower case, small caps, numerators, denominators, accents characters and so on. There are 21 ligatures. It is an experimental look at medieval writing for the 21st century.

Originally designed by Morris Fuller Benton for ATF in 1927, Sol Hess added a lower case in 1929. Hess also drew Broadway Engraved in 1928 for Lanston Monotype. Broadway has become somewhat of a classic icon as an "Art Deco" typeface.

Victorian Orchid is a gorgeous vintage flower. Victorian Orchid is a beautiful, organic serif font family available for both text and display. Its bizarre serifs for A and other diagonal letterforms came from decorative types and letterings in old Victorian era. These unusual serifs support and enhance the horizontal flow of the eyes and vertical alignments. Very eye-catching lowercase g also came from the Victorian era and this is one of the most dramatic letterform of this font. Lowercase such like n and d also have horizontal serifs which designed in the same theory. Victorian Orchid is somewhat organic, humanistic and soft-impression font like Transitional Serif as typified by Times New Roman. But at the same time, this font has horizontal serif and vertical stressed letterform like Modern Serif. They make this font sharp, handsome and neat. In addition, Victorian Orchid has low contrast and the serifs are not too flat and not too coved. By them, Victorian Orchid create strong and casual impression like Slab Serif fonts. English Grotesque is based on the proportions of an early 20th century signwriter’s sans, emphasising the characteristic idiosyncrasies of type of the period. Sharing a similar Roman circle-and-square construction as Gill Sans or Johnston Railway, it has a wide T and W, a narrow S, and a long-tailed R. The Roman alphabet did not include a lower-case, and therefore early sans-serifs tended to base theirs on handwritten or cursive models, resulting in more even character widths. English Grotesque, by contrast, carries the more characterful proportions of the capitals through to the lower case. Available in six weights, with optional alternative versions for the Q, &, £ and J.

Rosabella is a script typeface with plenty of decorative details — flourishes, swashes, twists and other elements, which impart to the face a gorgeous festive look. An unusually large number of alternates and ligatures make it possible to imitate live calligraphic writing. Lower case letters are divided into several stylistic sets from relatively modest variants to the most decorative contextually-dependent swash shapes. Besides that there are two sets of upper case letters — the second one contains larger and more complex shapes. Letters from the different stylistic sets can be used in a wide variety of combinations with the different levels of embellishments. Rosabella was designated for display material, greetings and advertising.

Camelot was the first of over 100 typefaces designed by Frederic Goudy. The upper case characters were drawn in 1896 for the Dickinson Type Foundry. Goudy was so encouraged by his check for $10 (double what he asked for the drawings), that he spent the next 50 years designing type. The lower case was added by the Dickinson foundry. This Lanston digital release includes a Text version based on the smaller point sizes of the metal type and a Display version based on the larger sizes. The two appear different in size but share the exact same line weight when at the same point size.

The original design came from Berthold Herold typeface, designed by Hermann Hoffmann during 1913 (Art Nouveau style) in Germany. This project started from flyer printed during 1947 with movable type, the specimen was scanned as a source to development some of the uppercase letterforms. However the most unusual and tricky element from this sample is the leg from the uppercase (R) which is different from the original Herold design, until now I didn’t found where this version originally came from. This stencil typeface only contain the bold weight, but there are also available other versions without stencil cuts, like Nouveau LX and Nouveau LX Expanded.

Vintage Price Tags JNL comprises three sets of numbers in both ribbon, circle and star patterns which, when combined will produce point-of-sale price elements. The designs were re-drawn from examples found in an old wood type catalog, and are now collected in digital format. Ribbon-style numbers are found on the upper case keys. A through J have the large numbers, K through T are the smaller, underlined numbers. The remaining upper case keys contain the dollar sign, cents sign and the phrases "each", "for", "dozen" and "pair". On the lower case, the circle set of combination numbers are on the following keystrokes: The keys a through j are the left side semi-circle numbers and the "k" key is a blank left side semi-circle. The l through u keys are the right side semicircle numbers and the "v" keystroke is a blank right side semi-circle. The star set is on the standard numbers keys for the left side of the star, with the right side characters on the corresponding shift keystrokes for the number keys. In following the original design examples, a cents sign follows the numbers on the right side of the circle or star sets. The lower case w through z contain a left side star blank, a left side star with $1, a right side star blank and a right side star with small double zeros (to comprise a star shaped price tag for $1.00).
