Centennial appeared in 1986 in honor of Linotype’s 100th birthday. The roman and light cuts of the font are reminiscent of the Century typeface, particularly on that of Linn B. Benton and Morris F. Benton, designed around the turn of the 19th century for the American Type Founders. Like Century, Centennial too embodies a cool, reserved neutrality.

Designed by Morris Fuller Benton 1913-15, this Oldstyle family was digitized by Jim Rimmer in the early 2000's. It is a roman face closely styled to that of Nicholas Jensen's with a companion italic in the style of Aldus Manutius. Originally designed by Morris Fuller Benton in 1925, FontHaus's 1995 revival is based on a design named "Novelty Broadway". Characters were referenced from "Commercial Art of Show Card Lettering" by James Eisenberg, published by D. Van Nostrand Company in 1945. This Broadway is classic Broadway but with some charming differences such as a slanted lower case "f" a remarkable lower case "g" and a high-waisted upper case case "R", as only a few examples. It was named "Novelty" because the alphabet incorporated a concave design feature in the tops and bottoms of each letter. These differences allow this version to possess much more personality than that of all other Broadway designs on the market. It looks almost hand brushed, has soft edges and is no where near as sterile looking as all the other digital versions. It feels very 1925!

The purpose of this monospace font is to display braille in an original although rather steganographic way. Its glyphs are built from a flat hexagon which can be read as 3 rows of 2 vertices (i.e. regular braille glyph grid). The initial design is illustrated by glyphs 'ç' (no dot) and 'û' (6 dots) as shown by poster 5. Glyphs are connected to each other, thus 6 connections for each hexagon (2 on left/right and 4 on top/bottom). In the final design many diagonal segments of the hexagon were removed for esthetical reason. Text is displayed not as a honeycomb but as a lattice instead which mixes hexagons, squares and "irregular convex octagons" (mostly unclosed), the design favored squares over octagons. The whole slightly resembling a PCB. In thinking about a way to express the character of this script, it occurred to me that the splitting of the main downstrokes in the caps is almost like when knife cuts into butter. Picture a butter knife that slices into butter, slowly wedging the cut wider so that when it is pulled back, the remaining shape would resemble the main downstroke of any capital letter. The lowercase characters have an almost roundhand-like character but with a slightly more formal presence. Available in Postscript, Truetype and Opentype for both Mac and Windows, Beurre is ideal for Menu's, Invitations and pretty much anywhere you need a reasonably strong, but friendly legible script. Have you ever had to read text from a cheap dot-matrix printer which is not aligned quite right, so that the tops of the letters are either darker or lighter than the bottoms? Now with IrritationOne and IrritationTwo you can relive that experience even though you no longer use a dot-matrix printer. IrritationOne has dark tops and fading bottoms, while IrritationTwo has the opposite. Naturally both are monospaced.

A revival of one of the popular wooden type fonts of the 19th century, suitable for display. The bold version has rounded ball shapes at top and bottom of stems as well as at horizontal strokes. The pointed version has pointed shapes at top and bottom of stems as well as at horizontal strokes. Lowercase was not originally designed for these fonts. These new versions include caps, figures and accented caps.

Abakadabra is a headline typeface inspired by sans-serifs of the first half of the twentieth century, as well as by the tricks of fakirs, illusionists and charmers. The gently playful manner of the font can be exaggerated to a more pretentious and grimacing one, or can alternatively be calmed to a neutral appearance. Abrakadabra supports most European languages and has thematic emoji symbols. The text can be customized by using stylistic sets or the Swashes and the Stylistic Alternates buttons in the OpenType panel.

Brandon Text is the companion of the famous Brandon Grotesque type family. It has a higher x-height than the Grotesque version and is optimized for long texts, small sizes and screens.
