According to the two most popular statistics companies in England and North America, eight out of every ten people like to dance. Talk about useless information! But with such a market statistic, we thought there would be some collections of dingbats out there with dancers in them. And surprise, surprise; we found not even one! So this was our opportunity to be the first to issue such a collection, and we are very pleased with the results. Dancebats is a font of 75 silhouettes of people dancing. All kinds of dancing. Ballet, techno, slam, rock, swing, aerobic, hip hop, jump, lounge, and much more. Take a close look at the silhouettes and find out why these are shapes that belong on every party design, bar none. The Dancebats outlines were tweaked for use at all sizes, from the very large, as in posters and signs, to the medium height, as in party flyers, invitations and publications, to the very small, as in web banners and pin-on buttons. We are anticipating these silhouettes to be used soon all over posters, signs and web sites everywhere, so get your hands on a copy and give yourself some ammunition for your next party design.

The purpose of this monospace font is to display braille in an original although rather steganographic way. Its glyphs are built from a flat hexagon which can be read as 3 rows of 2 vertices (i.e. regular braille glyph grid). The initial design is illustrated by glyphs 'ç' (no dot) and 'û' (6 dots) as shown by poster 5. Glyphs are connected to each other, thus 6 connections for each hexagon (2 on left/right and 4 on top/bottom). In the final design many diagonal segments of the hexagon were removed for esthetical reason. Text is displayed not as a honeycomb but as a lattice instead which mixes hexagons, squares and "irregular convex octagons" (mostly unclosed), the design favored squares over octagons. The whole slightly resembling a PCB. Text can be framed with 3 sets of Frame glyphs (as shown in Poster 4): Octagonal: { €, °, £, µ, §, ¥, ~, ¢ } which can be mixed with Rectangular High Rectangular Low: { è, é, ê, ï, î, à, â, ä } Rectangular High: { Â, ù, Ä, Ê, Ë, ô, õ, ë } which can be mixed with Octagonal NB: When using Frame glyphs, it is advised to show Pilcrow (¶) and Non Breaking Space, which are replaced by empty shapes (e.g. in Microsoft Word, use CTRL+8 or use [¶] button in the ribbon).

Philip Bouwsma’s offbeat mind, always working in mysterious ways, brings us one of the unlikeliest syntheses of historical influences in a perfectly fluid, organic, and highly expressive connected script. Tupelo takes its inspirational roots from the handwritings of two of the most influential men in world history: Elvis Presley and Abraham Lincoln. It took a little research and analysis on Bouwsma’s part to reveal that The King’s and Honest Abe’s methods of writing shared a common ancestor: a writing system they had both learned as youths during their early school years. Densa font family has been designed for Graviton Font Foundry by Pablo Balcells in 2020. It is a condensed sans serif typeface with some unconventional display endings. Its condensed design makes it very effective for space economizing and its display features make it a very interesting option for display usages such as logos, packaging and posters. Hildegard is a sans serif text face that works well in both larger and smaller point sizes. Ripe Apricot is a display typeface with flared semi-serifs. The design was created by renowned Armenian type designer Manvel Shmavonyan who gave to the typeface such a name not because of some associations with letterforms but just because the end of the long work happened at the time of apricot maturity in Armenia. The font family consists of four standard styles. It can be recommended for use in advertising and display matters as well as in magazine and Web design. Released by ParaType in 2010.

The box cover of “Drawing Stencils No. 3 for Use on Slate or Paper” [a children’s drawing set produced by Montgomery, Ward & Company of Chicago circa the 1890s] had its title in an elegant spurred Roman type face. Working from the few letters available, a complete character set was created that resulted in Antique Packaging JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions. To note, this is the 1500th font release from Jeff Levine Fonts since its inception in January of 2006.

Mocha Mattari is a distressed font designed based on Bebas Neue released as a free font in 2010. The Original Bebas Neue has an inordinate level of popularity and it has often been used as a web font in recent years. This Mocha Mattari was made by damaging the original and tweaked by hand work. Basically, Mocha Mattari does not have lowercases but alternative Uppercases. Exceptionally “g, m, oz, fl, lb” for “gram, milli, ounce, fluid, pound” can be available by opentype dlig or salt features.

Pich is a typeface that imitates vivid and free hand-drawn lettering. Each lowercase letter has three alternates and Contextual Alternates feature substitutes them producing random-like effect. Also you can choose required letter from the Glyphs palette. In addition to this Pich has a set of ligatures (both Latin and Cyrillic). All these features allow Pich to look hand-crafted, unique and natural. The font was initially created for Pichshop company. Pich was selected among Top-100 of Russian design (2010) according to the Kak magazine.

Designed by Alex Rütten, Ginkgo is a stylish text typeface. It works well for setting extended passages of text at small sizes thanks to its open counters, generous character widths, and clear and unique letterforms. On top of that, the handling of details such as in the serifs, cross bars, and terminals are wonderful to appreciate when used at large point sizes as well. Gingko received a Certificate of Excellence in Type Design at the Type Directors Club of New York TDC2 competition in 2009.
