P22 Salon was originally inspired by Art Nouveau lettering. In the development of the three fonts (P22 Salon Full, P22 Salon Inner and P22 Salon Shadow) they began taking on a slightly more modern feel. All three variations were designed to be completely interchangeable with one another, and can be layered to achieve a variety of effects.

Vintage sheet music for the title song from the film "Forty Second Street" was the inspiration for Theater Lights JNL. While the idea of letters comprised of circles (to simulate bulbs) can be both vintage [as in marquee lights] or modern [simulating dot matrix printers], it is always a fun approach to a tried-and-true style.

FreeDee is a re-draw of some experimental lettering first drawn during A-Level (just after high-school) art and design studies. It was originally purely self initiated, and one of the first things I used Illustrator to draw. This version takes the original handful of letters and extrapolates a full alphabet with basic latin accents.

DINosaur is the typographical mise en scène of a calligraphic standard for technical writing, found in a 1967 manual. Although its base is a regular grid and its main reference is the DIN norm, it is full of a multitude of small original features. The microtypographic details refer to the tools originally used for its reproduction.

Fairground was created by calligrapher Rachel Yallop using a vintage nib and ink. This gives it a light flourishing feel, combining the formal penmanship of calligraphy with something a little more informal at the same time. A sign at the 81st Street (Museum of Natural History) New York subway stop provided the pattern for this mosaic tile face. Based on hand lettering from a January 26, 1930 ad for the 1930 Fox Studios film "Let's Go Places", the lettering is an ultra bold serif design with numerous ball terminals throughout the character set. The typeface is both formal, yet casual and playful in appearance. Going Places JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Display Haphazard is a display font not intended for text use. It was designed specifically for display, headline, logotype, branding, and similar applications. Display Haphazard has an uppercase alphabet located under the character set keys and a full set of alternate uppercase characters located under the character + shift keys. Based on electrical circuitry, David Philpott's Circles typefaces are oddly legible, even though one might think they were destined for display usage only. The circle is the base form, repeated throughout the design. Project Fairfax is a unique stencil typeface designed on a strict grid. It is perfect for any stencil design, especially a military look. Telegram is the work of British designer Timothy Donaldson, a casual style influenced by the ball and rod, or atomic, imagery popular during the 1950s. Donaldson called the typeface Telegram because it reminds him of dots and dashes. This steam era typeface, created by Gustav Schroeder in 1884, found popular use on soap box labels and tobacco tins during its initial release. Then, later, a successful and stout revival of Gustav's face, named Othello, was carried out by Morris Fuller Benton in 1934, and the typeface's appeal widened to include items such as broadside posters featuring Boris Karloff's Frankenstein. After metal gave way to film type, Gustav's creation experienced a brief fashion moment in the 1960's, but then disappeared entirely, never re-surfacing as a full digital typeface. With the release of Bathysphere, the typeface comes full circle, having been completely redrawn from scratch using Gustav's original specimens. The new extended language support establishes the typeface firmly in the modern era, while Bathysphere's refinement of subtle blunt corners restores a deep-sea grace to this iron giant.
