Bergamot was inspired by vintage apothecary labels, but this font is actually quite modern in both style and effects. The inspiration for this font (as well as the name!) comes from a London cafe I visited years ago. I was fascinated with the handwritten menu - irregular and awkward, yet refreshingly charming. I did my best to recall that particular look by adding 4 slightly different versions of each lowercase letter. The name of the font comes from the speed of the waiter...or the lack of it! But luckily he took his time, otherwise I wouldn't have had the time to really look at the handwritten menu! :)

This typeface was originally inspired by Art Deco lettering. During the development of the letterforms a strick DeStijl grid was imposed. The lowercase letterforms were created with the influences of rave/techno design styles. The result is a distinctly contemporary display font. This is the classic English Script. Completely drawn by hand with a classic pen and then scanned and worked over just enough to keep that handmade touch. I didn't want this to look perfect, there are enough versions of this font that are way too slick.

When creating the font, I was inspired by the various names of musical groups and sci-fi movies. I took the hourglass shape as a basis and added various serifs to it, hence the name of my font appeared - Klepsydra, as in the Greek hourglass. This style has an abbreviation - "Z". A pleasant looking slab serif font family which was originally released by the Wagner foundry as hot-metal fonts. These fonts avoid the appearance of being constructed, and this is underlined by the beautiful swash caps in the Italic style.

The font "Newsletter Stencil" is based on the font family Newsletter which is to be published by die Typonauten. During the toilsome development of this font family it was a pleasure to destroy the letter forms and to create a bastard.

I named this font Jeullyta because it is gorgeous, from the initial process until the end product. Tatline was intended to be a fun side project that developed into something cool and rather unprecedented. Fishmonger originated from a commission of two fonts for the corporate identity of a fishmonger shop. When sketching the elementary principles for the lettering, the idea for a modern, extensive font family with a large number of styles was born. The first step consisted of defining the range of widths and weights. Then the master design Medium Regular was completed. The next step was adjusting the Extra Condensed Thin, the Extra Condensed Bold, The Extra Extended Thin and the Extra Extended Bold weights, as they are the vertices of an imaginary square map of the face. This meant that, in order to achieve a harmonious result, the x and y axis needed to be defined. From top to bottom, from the widest to the most condensed cut, the proportions are linear. However, from light to black, the line curves gently, allowing lesser difference between the light cuts, and a dramatic one between the heavier cuts. To ensure the original parameters were respected each position on the vertex was checked against the Medium Regular. After sorting out the ideal set-up, the remaining characters of each of the weights were drawn, and the remaining cuts were interpolated according to the principles above. Fishmonger is a functional, clean design, free of any buoyant, ornamental shapes, almost minimalist. Maybe this is what lends the type family its unique appearance.
