As a family, we love to go camping. We have a big Norwegian tunnel tent (4 season - with room for a wood stove), some really warm down sleeping bags and a primitive field kitchen. Even though our camping trips are usually devoid of luxury, the kids love them! We always choose campsites that are close to nature, like a national park or in the mountains. A couple of years ago, we toured the southern part of England and one of our camping stops was in Exmoor National Park. Minehead is a small coastal town, not far from where we camped, so I named this font after a fond memory! Minehead is a handmade display font. It was loosely based on Haettenschweiler. Mesquite is a narrow Tuscan-style typeface designed at Adobe in 1990. Sometimes the ugliest pets can be the cutest ones. And the dirtiest fonts can be the most charming ones. Like CA Smut which comes in two styles that can be stacked on top of each other. “Regular” is the shadow, while “Fill” is the filling. Create little masterpieces by playing with different colors, offset or deviating tracking. You can even try to use the “Fill” style on its own, but do so at you own risk. Burford is a font family that I sketched while traveling through Europe. I was mesmerized by all the unique typography that was showcased throughout the five countries I visited. Inspired by all that I had seen, I found myself spending 4-5 hours per day in Amsterdam’s Vondel Park drawing characters. Once back in the states I digitalized Burford, deciding it would make for a beautiful layer-based font. Burford Pro package comes with all 18 layering fonts including 5 base layers, 3 top layers, 5 bottom layers and 2 sets of graphic elements. They are strategically made to build on top of each other, creating a cohesive and easy to use layer-based family. Each font also comes with a set of Stylistic Alternatives for letters A C E F G H P Q R. Burford Basic package is created for users who don’t have access to premiere design programs (such as Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, etc) and are unable to use the layering effect. Despeinada, which means "uncombed" in Spanish, is a loose script, perfect for when you want to convey informality. It'll look good in a long text, or when a few rough and spontaneous word are needed... Being a packaging designer, my faces are mostly oriented toward that sector, although they won't look in any way out of place in the editorial world or in advertising, for example. This face was generated in the University of Barcelona Master of Typography, in 2010, where I dictated the “Practicum” It's a very versatile design that can be used in small sizes or enlarged as needed. It won't deceive you! I think that this particular face is halfway between Mistral and Zapfino: rough but clean at the same time. None of its glyphs follow any order, nor do their weights... In short, if you start writing with Despeinada you won't want to stop.
