When you hear that name, you likely ask yourself, ‘why?!’ I did too, but the number of requests could not be ignored. Once I finally decided to move forward with it, the only way to solve the offering would be to adhere to the same theme of indulgence, I planned for the same number of optical weights AND Italics. Yeah, italic stencils… ok, why not? It’s not a new concept. One thing to note and a creative liberty I assumed during the design. Lust Stencil would not be just a redaction or removal of stress to produce a quick stencil. To do that, would just be a cheap solution. Strokes had to resolve themselves correctly and/or uniquely to the concept of the stencil format. And, it had to be heftier. For it it to look correctly, it needed about 8% additional mass to the strokes for it to retain the effervescent flow of the curves and the resolute scalloped lachrymals. The Lust Collection is the culmination of 5 years of exploration and development, and I am very excited to share it with everyone. When the original Lust was first conceived in 2010 and released a year and half later, I had planned for a Script and a Sans to accompany it. The Script was released about a year later, but I paused the Sans. The primary reason was the amount of feedback and requests I was receiving for alternate versions, expansions, and ‘hey, have you considered making?’ and so on. I listen to my customers and what they are needing… and besides, I was stalling with the Sans. Like Optima and other earlier high-contrast sans, they are difficult to deliver responsibly without suffering from ill-conceived excess or timidity. The new Lust Collection aggregates all of that past customer feedback and distills it into 6 separate families, each adhering to the original Lust precept of exercises in indulgence and each based in large part on the original 2010 exemplars produced for Lust. I just hate that it took so long to deliver, but better right, than rushed, I imagine. It would have taken even longer if not for font engineer and designer, Potch Auacherdkul. Thanks Potch.

Solar is a font family designed by Carlos Fabian Carmargo G. Kigara was Elena’s first attempt at designing a text typeface. The result is not exactly a conventional book face. Strongly influenced by handwriting, Kigara is best suited for short texts set at medium to large sizes. However, its open letter shapes and subtle serifs make it a very readable face in smaller sizes as well. Kigara will also make headlines as a modest, light-hearted display typeface. Ruha Harline is a modern and mechanical serif typeface and is the result of stencil's RUHA development. Being the first typeface of the family, it sets the basic concepts for further development, on each version to come. The letters didn't transfer so well but we liked the way they were damaged. All of the characters have a very high resolution so they can be used in a large scale. Mr Black doesn't have lowercases but has up to three alternate uppercase for each letter. Checkout Mr Tiger if your looking for lowercase letters with the same distortion effect. The Shad is the almost illegible cousin of the >> Chiq. As the name suggests - it consists of the shadows of the letters. And the bolder the font style, the stronger it is. The “Light” only has a thin shadow, while the “Black” casts a very deep, broad shadow. Shad only consists of the letter shadows, the corresponding letter remains transparent, i.e. without filling. The “metrics”, i.e. the spacing and character widths, correspond to those of Chiq, so that both fonts can be placed congruently on top of each other. When you combine and play with the two fonts, very attractive effects quickly emerge. Shad brings a bit of 3D into typography.

Dez Yinznat Stencil is a condensed stencil sans serif inspired by the industrial city of Pittsburgh, PA USA. Stencil type was often used in the steel mills, scrap metal yards, railroads, warehouses, and other industrial institutions of Pittsburgh and is almost a signature for the City. The name comes from combining two colloquial expressions common to Pittsburgh. “Yinz” is used there like "Y'all" is used in Southern States. "n'at" or sometimes "N@" is used to replace “and that” when ending a phrase. This font is dedicated to the hard-working people who made Pittsburgh what it is, N@. High-tech subjects can also find a friend in Dez Yinz'nat.

I created this font to capture the innocence and playfulness of doodle lettering that is created in schools everywhere. Typographic rules are non-existent and the characters are sometimes oddly and incorrectly shaped but that's exactly what gives it charm. What really got me started was Napoleon Dynamite, his drawings and "typography". This font does not mimic what you see in the movie at all, but it attempts to capture the same spirit of high school "doodle typography". My favorite line: "I am pretty much the best artist I know". The font was named after Boondoggle keychains, the other craft most scholars acquire at some point in their school careers.
