Wolby is a rough and organic hand drawn typefamily which draws inspiration from a variety of sources such as sign painting, hand lettering, comic books, cartoons, health food, sticks and stones to name a few. The letter shapes were all originally created by writing with a pointed brush. The use of one writing tool results in an aesthetical harmony between the very different styles making them all fit together. The family consists of eight styles; upright and slanted caps in regular and bold, a layered block style in fill, outline and shadow styles and a lively script. Varese is a geometric and modular typeface inspired by early 1900s Art Deco posters. Its heavy weight is excellent for headlines, display, or large body text. The lowercase is similar to the uppercase, yet many of the lowercase letters have interior spaces and several have some variations on the form (see H/h, E/e, F/f, I/i, J/j, L/l, N/n, T/t). The lowercase also has two alternate glyph sets that are half size and align with cap height. One of the alternate glyph sets has an underline and the other set does not. The Quarantinus font was created during the 2020 covid 19 lock-down. Tranquility being all around, the JOEBOB graphics studio almost felt like a monastery, and as a result my style of writing and my choice of pen had to fit. All this writing was turned into an authentic handwritten script font with over 150 ligatures, which make it look very credible and spontaneous. The font is especially suitable for personalized 'handwritten' notes, cards and messages. It can be used on T-shirts and on shop-windows. It has an 'instant logo' quality, it can be used for tattoo-designs and it screams home-made everything. And in case you are a writer you now have an option to print your work in a way that seems as if you wrote it yourself. Please note that even though the font comes with a complete set of Western characters, accents and special signs, the Cyrillic and Greek characters that are in the font do not make a complete set.

Normal and upright italic script fonts line a well-trodden path; left-leaning fonts (or "rightalics" as they're confusingly called), on the other hand, are a rarity. Here at Eclectotype Fonts we don't like to do things too conventionally, so here's Backstroke, a laid back script with a unique voice. With contextual alternates for start and end forms of certain characters, swash versions of L, Q and Z (surely the most used initial caps!), and a handful of stylistic sets, Backstroke is a restrained script. Stylistic sets are: 1. the start forms of i, j, m, n, and p are used always instead of only at word starts. 2. lower case ascenders get a whole lot loopier. 3. alternate versions of G, N and Y. 4. swash L, Q and Z. 5. swaps the default Polish script lslash for a more familiar version While fonts that lean the wrong way may be a bit more difficult to fit into your layouts than boring old regular italics, they will reward you with their individuality. The letters in this font are made by chopping bits from footprints. Individual letters are sometimes very hard to decipher, but when put together as words they are usually readable. In Pedestrisan-Regular, the original version of this font, the upper-case letters have toes on the top the lower case letters have toes on the bottom. All the feet with letters are right feet. The upper case and lower case do not mix. In 2020 two alternate versions were created. In Pedestrian-Alt all toes are on the top but the lower-case letters are left feet. In Pedestrian-AltTwo all toes are on the bottom with the upper-case letters being cut from left feet and the lower case from right feet. Both the alternate styles also have an alternate set of numbers on the unicode circled numbers that can also be accessed with an OpenType feature.

It is still a mystery to us why Martin Wilke's 1968 Konzept design was ignored by the digital age. It certainly has the elements of attractive yet realistic handwriting, as well as a few very distinctive letters that make it very unique in its class. So here it comes digitally under another feline name from Canada Type. We named it Cougar because the top of the C gives off just that impression. Ditto the G's casual descender, and the gorgeous a and g. With casual letters like these, a handwriting font cannot get any more realistic.
