A hand lettered Art Deco ‘stencil’ design used in various ads for “Holiday” and other Pathé films was found in the July 22, 1930 issue of “The Film Daily”. Similar in style to Futura Black and other like designs, it is now available as Deco Holiday JNL in both regular and oblique versions.

An Oct. 7, 1931 advertisement in a British trade paper for the film industry carried the unusual title “The Bioscope Peaks of National Approval”. Just as unusual was the hand lettering for this ad – a quirky, casual bit of novelty typography that inspired Film Preview JNL; available in both regular and oblique versions.

The Scrivano family was designed by Ricardo Esteves Gomes, inspired by some handwritings from the Middle Ages and Renaissance period. An ongoing movie review column known as the "Critic's Forum" (such as was found in the May 23, 1936 issue of The Film Daily) had a simple Art Deco monoline hand lettering of the column's name. Redrawn digitally as Film Critic JNL, this typeface is now available in both regular and oblique versions.

A 1930s menu from a restaurant with locations in both Long Island and Miami Beach called the “Roadside Rest” sported on its cover some very unusual Art Deco outline lettering. Adapted and slightly modified for typographic purposes, the font is now available as Dining Menu JNL in both regular and oblique versions.

The headline across the October 7, 1918 edition of the UK’s Daily Mail stated: "Germany Asks the Allies for Peace". Set in extrabold sans serif lettering, it’s now available digitally as Tabloid Edition JNL in both regular and oblique versions. This is another “redrawn from the headlines” typeface from Jeff Levine Fonts.

Two word examples (“nice” and “bud”) from the J.G. Cooley & Co.’s Specimens of Wood Type catalog for the typeface ‘Roman Triple Extra Condensed Fifty Line’ offered only seven letters to work with. Despite this lack of characters, it inspired Compressed Wood JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

ITC Silvermoon was designed by Akira Kobayashi in the style of the advertisements of the 1920s. Art Deco was the artistic movement which marked the years between the two world wars, combining elements of Jugenstil, futurism and east Asian influences. This font carries on in that tradition. The small, high reaching figures with their elegant forms and reserved but distinguishing loops give Silvermoon its unmistakable look. Kobayashi designed this font in two weights, regular and bold. To retain the elegance of the bold weight, the consistent stroke width of the regular weight was exchanged for contrasting strokes. Hudson NY is a display font that gives you strong and bold typography with three different styles that make up the family, a regular, serif and slab serif. Hudson NY is an adaptation and progression of Roper Font, and like Roper font it comes in regular and a press versions, giving the user some cool options when creating artwork. The golden thread that ties this family together is its American sports and college styling, it gives Hudson NY an authentic look but at the same time there is a modern approach to the character set. NarrowWay is a family of 18 condensed and ultra-condensed sans-serif typefaces. The family started with the ultra-condensed widths, then the condensed and regular widths (the regular is still quite condensed) were added. All widths have three weights and each weight has an italics style. These 18 styles lack a true lowercase but rather have a set of alternative characters, some based on lower-case forms, on the lower-case keys. Some alternative letters can be reached with the OpenType feature of stylistic sets. The character spacing in most of the styles is quite loose and it can be tightened with an application's character spacing if needed. These typefaces are display faces that can be useful for squeezing tall lettering into tight spaces. They are not readable at small point sizes.

Montauk Pro is named after a small village in Suffolk County, New York on the South Shore of Long Island. It is the easternmost area in Long Island, and thus the easternmost area in New York State. It is home to Montauk Point State Park, site of the Montauk Point Lighthouse. It is named after the Montauk Indians. Montauk Pro is a casual, jaunty and quite beautiful handwriting script. Reba Samuels is based on the 2007 release Rebecca Samuels. While Rebecca was largely intended for text use Reba aims to be more versatile with an extended weight scope and added cut varieties. While Rebecca’s slab character is developed in the Reba serif, the ’seriffed’ italic of Rebecca is abandoned in favor of a simple italic sans, better matching the serif in plain text. The weight extremes are very useful for headlines while the middles do better in text. The robust and angular shapes of the serif matches the straightforward sans. The extreme contrast between the thin and the black cuts opens up great opportunities in any design project.
