Mario De Libero designed Swanstone while investigating XIX Century Old Style typefaces. An old rubber stamp printing set called the Aristocrat Sign Marker was the inspiration for this font from Jeff Levine. I was cleaning out my pencil box and found an old marker pen. I wanted to throw it away, because it was leaking all over my stuff, but decided I could use it one more time.
