Evoque Text is a humanist serif type family specifically designed for a comfortable reading experience. This has been achieved by optically adjusting the regular weights from my original Evoque family (released November 2021). You will notice a significantly reduced x-height and longer ascenders and descenders, complemented by adjustments to weight and spacing. This makes Evoque Text a perfect choice for any long passages of text. All OpenType features have been retained from Evoque. A plethora of swash alternates and discretionary ligatures enhance Evoque Text, giving you the opportunity to embellish your typography. Simply activate Stylistic Sets to start adding these flourishes to your text. Quiroga Serif began in 2007 with the name Quadratta Serif. This typography was designed for continuous text, legible at medium and small sizes, with great saving of space, optimized for 6, 8, 10 and 12 points. The morphology is a mix between tradition and innovation; it has a vertical axis, thick serifs, tall x-height, light modulation and a lot of internal space between letters: key to improve legibility at small sizes. Formally, my idea was to make a serif type that had a unique color, this is visible due to the light modulation. This is also complemented with the incorporation of not common, alternative signs. Some parts of the letters that are usually curb or diagonal where made horizontal (for example: a, q, p, etc.), this makes the eye of each character to be wide and unique. The serifs (wedge type) suffered diverse variations during the process. At the begining they where thicker and ended vertically, but this caused a great deal of printing errors. And so we decided to modify them by giving them an angle to avoid visible errors in medium and small sizes. The ch, and ll ligatures where rescued because they are a part of our current spanish alphabet. The historic ligatures and stylistic alternates give different options to users who want different alternatives within a text. The accentuation signs were composed in a middle line above all signs to avoid visual shock. We also gave plenty of importance to small caps numbers, mathematical signs and currency signs so that the could interact well.

Making a Christmas card takes a lot of work! Finding the right typeface can be tough, too. Have you ever spent hours searching for the right one? Well, in 2003, instead of spending hours searching, German designer Guido Bittner made his own. Expectation was first used on the Christmas card for Bittner's Wiesbaden design studio. This delicate series of letters maintains a handwritten feel, in part because it began as a digitalization of Bittner’s own handwriting. Expectation Swash includes additional swash letters, which can be paired with regular version of Expectation to create superior effects. Perhaps it is already time for you to begin working on next year’s holiday cards. Let these fonts be the starting port for your inspiration! Mindful that Hiragino Sans (Kaku Gothic) would be used in conjunction with Hiragino Serif (Mincho), SCREEN developed a font that anticipated today’s world where most people do their reading on displays and yet still has an orthodox letterform that does not blur when printed on paper. In short, our goal with this font was to create a new concept that responds to the demands of today’s times. This font offers weight variations from W0 to W9 and is extremely versatile. This makes it well-suited to all visual expression media including paper, metallic textures, resins, cloth, television, movies, broadcasting, websites, and electronic displays. One of the design’s strongpoints is that it elides serif on the right side of each stroke, thus delivering more spacious counters and a comfortable appearance. Thanks to this, the typeface not only delivers a contemporary, lively impression same as Latin sans serif typefaces, but also heightens the natural continuity and readability of text whether it is set vertically or horizontally. As a result, it makes it possible to bring a strong appealing power to text. Without a doubt, this is typeface that above else embodies the role of Sans Serif.

Artist and calligrapher Daniel Reeve, well known for the lettering and maps in The Lord of the Rings films, is creating hand-crafted fonts of some of his writing styles - Kereru is the inaugural release, allowing users to emulate some of his much-admired calligraphy. Nominally a half-uncial style, clever arrangements of the stylistic sets allow Kereru to be set as full uncial or standard roman, as well as offering numerous alternates, ligatures, swashes and flourishes, ornaments, unlimited fractions, scientific inferiors and numeric superscript, all accessible via OpenType features. Cyrillic and Greek alphabets are included, in addition to the letters required for all the languages of Western, Central and Eastern Europe, Scandinavia and the Baltic. Kereru is very legible and easy on the eye, without sacrificing calligraphic flair. A pdf description of the Stylistic Sets and their usage is included with the font package, which comprises regular, bold and italic variations. Kereru Italic supercedes and improves upon its previous incarnation, Shire Regular. The name Kereru comes from New Zealand's Maori language - it is our native wood pigeon, a bird of generous and rounded form, like the font itself.

This font began its life as a project to design a T-shirt for a student group on a large midwestern university. It has now grown up into a unicode font, including Greek and Cyrillic. It has that look and feel of the T-shirts that are ubiquitous on the campuses of colleges and universities over the world. It would make an ideal tool for designing them, as well as posters and banners. Characters in these fonts include Latin, for English and other European languages; small a and c for names like MacDonald; many fractions, including 0/3 needed in baseball; Latin with diacritical marks for Eastern and Western European, Turkish, and Baltic languages; thorn, eth, cedilla, AE, OE, and sharp S for French, German, Icelandic; Latin extensions for clicks of some African languages; Greek (with tonos); Cyrillic for Russian and many other Slavic and Asian languages that use it; most Runes (the full Futhark plus a few more); six-point Brialle; currency symbols for dollar, cent, pound, yen, euro; and a few other extras like the peace sign. Geliat would be the youngest brother of Creo, retaining the letterform and proportion but has more geometric looks. This font family comes in two versions which has some different default glyphs. Geliat family has similar letterform with Creo, while the Alt version has common geometric letterform. Italic styles of Geliat were designed using semi-rotalic method. The round parts have 5 degrees italic angle, while the vertical strokes were made in 10 italic degrees. The result gives the styles look more circular than most geometric typefaces with the same 10 degrees italic angle. Each version of Geliat has 2 variable fonts along with 10 different predefined weights from Thin to Heavy with matching italics. Each family member of Geliat also equipped with useful OpenType features such as Ordinals, Superscripts, Scientific Inferiors, Stylistic Sets, Tabular Lining, Standard Ligatures, Fractions, Numerators & Denominators. Ardentia is a serif typeface, supporting a wide range of Latin based languages and Greek (see TechSpecs). Ardentia was created inspired by most serif text font used in book printing. Smooth curves help the flow for long text reading. Ardentia is designed with medium contrast in order to have all parts of the letter’s shape well printable in book size printing, for high or low resolution printers, high or low paper quality. Other than book printing, the medium contrast also gives good visibility in display thanks to its clearness. Thus, Ardentia will work well for both printing and display, webpage or electronic/digital display. Ardentia consist of 4 weights: Light, Regular, Semi-bold and Bold, plus matching italics. The thickness of the lowercases (vertical stem) of the regular font is drawn at about the middle of the thickness of similar kind (serif) and similar size fonts. So Ardentia is the right choice for both textbook and display altogether. Being a normal serif typeface, Ardentia is applicable to a wide range of usage. The Mayberry® is an extensive family of 14 OpenType fonts. Mayberry was initially designed by Steve Matteson to emulate the technical behavior of a font family called Tiresias™ for use in set top TV devices and user interfaces. Mayberry is a significant improvement in aesthetics and functionality over Tiresias. In 1932, the great American type designer, Morris Fuller Benton was busy directing the creative departments of ATF and designing type. Big on his plate during that period was the development of the Bank Gothic® family among other typefaces like Raleigh Gothic. Bank Gothic and Raleigh Gothic share some very similar design traits. The most obvious difference being the ultra condensed style of Raleigh Gothic. Although the Bank Gothic family was released with a condensed, Raleigh Gothic could have originally been planned as an ultra condensed Bank Gothic but for reasons we can only speculate, the Ultra Condensed Bank became its own design. So, If you like Bank Gothic, you may also like Raleigh Gothic. Separated at birth? Fun to speculate.

Astrotype is an excellent choice for use in astronomical or astrological literature – books, journals, magazines, etc. It can be used effectively both within the text and in accompanying graphics. Using all weights also opens up a number of illustrative possibilities, for instance on posters or tarot cards. Clarity, homogeneity and pure simplicity give Astrotype its unique character. Based on the same elements and with consistant proportions, the characters display a natural elegance and harmony. The type really stands out through the ease with which it can be integrated into text and the many creative possibilities of combinations of different weights. For instance, try placing Astrotype N dot over Astrotype P dot and using different colors – perfect for onscreen buttons, icons or decorations.

Years ago, I developed an interest in the Japanese art of dwarfed potted trees, bonsai. I bought some books on the subject from Brooklyn Botanic Garden. In one -- Handbook on Bonsai: Special Techniques (seventh printing, February 1976) -- the type was bad. Two decades later, I came across my Brooklyn Botanic Garden collection and was struck again by this interesting type. Inspired, I made a typeface. The Mutamathil Taqlidi type family is the largest size member of the Mutamathil type style. It has one glyph for every basic Arabic Unicode character or letter and one additional, final-position, glyph for each Arabic letter that is normally connected with other letters from both sides in traditional cursive Arabic strings. An unconventional classicistic Roman typeface This Roman typeface has a livelier effect than is typical of the epoch of classicistic style. In the lower case letters, an echo of the smoother forms of historically early scripts is identifiable. Typical of a classicistic Roman typeface are the emphasized and clear contrast in the weight of the strokes, the fine serifs and the accentuation of the vertical bold stem. Charpentier Classicistique is pleasantly legible. Its effect is much less harsh than other classicistic fonts. The pointed forms of M and N are uncommon. At 30°, the italic version of Charpentier Classicistique is unusually strongly slanted. The italic lower case letters refer, in part, to English handwriting, which also falls under classicism. Especially the curves show forms influenced by writing. Charpentier Classicistique supports all European languages including Turkish, Greek and Russian. It includes lots of ligatures, also discretional ones, as well as tabular figures and cap-height figures.

The Englishman William Caslon (1672-1766) first cut his typeface Caslon in 1725. His major influences were the Dutch designers Christoffel van Dijcks and Dirck Voskens. The Caslon font was long known as the script of kings, although on the other side of the political spectrum, the Americans used it as well for their Declaration of Independence. The characteristics of the earlier Renaissance typefaces are only barely detectable. The serifs are finer and the axis of the curvature is almost or completely vertical. The overall impression which Caslon makes is serious, elegant and linear. Next to Baskerville, Caslon is known as the embodiment of the English Baroque-Antiqua and has gone through numerous new interpretations, meaning that every Caslon is slightly different. Caslon Classico appeared in 1993 and was designed by Franco Luin, the designer of various interpretations of classic typefaces. Luin kept his design true to the original and Caslon Classico consists of two cuts with corresponding italic and small caps characters.

Serat is a medium contrast flared serif with mixed up styles of classic typefaces which is highly influenced by early stages of Latin based hand writing. The lowercase are modernized versions of Carolingian minuscules, vertical stems which touch the baseline have been modified to have horizontal cut for simpler look and keep the calligraphic style for terminals & stroke ends. Then the uppercase are flared serif which were influenced by Roman inscriptional capitals. The font name was taken from the Javanese word "serat" which means writing (noun).
