This is a digital revival by Cristóbal Henestrosa based on an experimental typeface named Charter, designed – yet never fully accomplished – by the prominent William Addison Dwiggins. It is an upright italic, unconnected script typeface, whose main features are a pronounced contrast, condensed forms and exaggerated ascenders. While Dwiggins worked on this project from 1937 to 1955, he only completed the lowercase and a few other characters. However, it was used to set a specimen in 1942 and a short novel in 1946. The sources that Cristóbal used for Mon Nicolette were the original sketches by WAD as well as printing trails kept at the Boston Public Library, and a copy of the 1946 edition of The Song-Story of Aucassin and Nicolette. This gorgeous typeface can be used successfully in headlines, subheads and short passages of text from 12 points onwards, in applications such as fashion magazines, soft news, advertising, poetry, albums, and book covers. This project started ten years ago, while Cristóbal was studying the Type@Cooper Extended Program at New York City. A previous version was selected to be part of the Biennial Tipos Latinos 2018, and now Mon Nicolette is finally ready for commercial distribution with Sudtipos… and we are very proud of it! In 1994, Edward Benguiat designed ITC Edwardian Script, an emotional, lyrical, even passionate calligraphic typeface. Its appearance was influenced by the look of writing with a steel pointed pen, an instrument which can be pushed as well as pulled, and which produces stroke contrast when pressure upon it is varied. Pescadero Pro is named for the valley in California's rugged central coast. Early Spanish settlers called the area Pescadero (fishing place) as they observed it was a favorite fishing spot for the local natives. Designed by Steve Matteson, Pescadero is delicate and detailed for attractive documents but robust enough for serious reports and titles. The design is based heavily on calligraphic inscriptional lettering. Pescadero Pro's OpenType features include proportional figures, tabular figures, old style figures and initial swash caps.

Crowd Funded fonts wasn’t really crowd funded… In fact, all of the funding came from me, as I had to buy paper and a new pen to get this font going! Crowd Funded is an all caps display font, which I based on a recent font of mine called Longreach. Crowd Funded is narrower and rounder than Longreach and, in a way, more delicate. It comes with a generous amount of diacritics and basic Cyrillic as well!

Roxic doesn’t push boundaries, or break them; Roxic doesn’t recognise your pedestrian concept of boundaries. It doesn’t so much laugh in the face of convention as much as it refuses to acknowledge its very existence. Cerebri Sans is a design inspired by early geometric and grotesque typefaces. ITC Kulukundis is the work of designer Daniel Pelavin, a square, connecting script which looks as though it could have been cast in shiny chrome for the side of a 1950s American roadster. Pelavin based his design very loosely on a vertical French script but the overall look is all his own. Unlike calligraphic scripts, the lower case letters all connect in exactly the same way and the straight diagonal junctures give the typeface its broad, spacious character and keep it locked into a continuous line. ITC Kulukundis could also be used to create a decorative border for special occasions.

In its characteristics Xtra Sans is a combination of modern grotesks/grotesques and traditional calligraphy. Its upright and compact letterforms generate a sturdy effect as in the early 20th century grotesks Nobel, Kabel or Erbar. On the contrary, dynamic inside forms (counters) give the characters a fluent appearance. As a result, Xtra Sans stands out in large size, while remaining highly legible in small and long text. In 2007 Xtra Sans received a Certificate of Excellence in Type Design from Type Directors Club, New York. In 2002, still unpublished, it was awarded a bronze prize at the Morisawa Awards, Tokyo.

Signage is not made up of grid-based dots. They are optical corrected and there is always the same distance between the dots, with the aim to create more harmonic letterforms. The dots also vary gradually in size to reflect the thickening and thinning of strokes, giving the letterforms a sophisticated overall look. Signage comes up with 3 weights and 3 italics and is perfectly suited for logos, brands, magazines and special for signage systems and mobile devices. The language support includes Western, Central and Eastern European character sets, as well as Baltic and Turkish languages.

The Droid Serif Pro Family (4 fonts) is a contemporary serif typeface family designed for comfortable reading on screen. This typeface is inspired by the powerful political and social posters by Paul Peter Piech, a tireless artist and printer. Questioned about his endless energy and focus on work, he said "I don't want to sit around and be silent". dT Ampla shares many characteristics of the versatile sans typefaces of today: nice range of five weights with matching italics, 40+ supported languages, contemporary upper-to-lowercase proportions and impeccable performance in big and text sizes. Monospaced but no mono space. Created from 2002 to 2007 this font family is influenced by fonts like OCR-B, DIN and the work of Erik Spiekermann. Newsletter is not a real monospaced font but has the ease of recognition these fonts have - even though these fonts are often criticized for their aesthetic qualities. Newsletter has a computer-related impression but is more legible and aesthetic than real monospaced fonts are. Since 2006 Newsletter is the corporate font of the design agency "die Typonauten". It is eminently suitable for correspondence use. After a testing period and fine tuning it is now published.

Friar Pro is a revival of Frederic W. Goudy's "Friar" typeface. Goudy described this typeface design as a 'typographic solecism' as it combines a lowercase of half-uncial forms from the 4th through 7th centuries with an uppercase of square capitals from the 4th century. Steve Matteson developed the font as a tribute to Goudy and his joy of typographic exploration. Steve created a complete character set with OpenType typographic enhancements to give the font an authentic appearance to the original. Friar Pro is a beautiful design which imparts a scribal appearance to any document including greeting cards, certificates and official papers.

Chaman is a “hybrid” font. On the one hand serifless, temperate and readable, and on the other hand quick and livily as a manual script, thanks to many unexpected ligatures. Letter design is plain and functional, punctuated by dynamic elements, mostly in ligatures and contextual glyphs, generated at the beginning and end of the word, thanks to your software’s OpenType features. It draws inspiration from the Tibetan alphabet, originally close to our own latin alphabet, as it stems from Bhram handwriting, itself derived from Phoenician alphabet. This alternation of stright vertical lines and regular bows makes Chaman’s design stand out.
