Paneuropa 1931™ is a faithful recreation of XX-century Polish classic, made by Idzikowski foundry in Warsaw, 1931. Original Paneuropa was a renowned and highly popular typeface in XX-century Poland, and was widely used in all kinds of design, editorial use and printed materials for decades. Paneuropa is a geometric, clean and versatile font family inspired by Paul Renner's famous Futura - it is a bit narrower, with different proportions and details in drawing, completely different figures and punctuation shapes than Futura. Pliego has been named after Pliegos de Cordel, the Spanish word for the popular books that were common during the XVI, XVII and XVIII centuries. These were rough, cheap books that basically consisted in a folded sheet attached to a string, hence the name. Their content was varied, from popular tales to ballads and songs, but also crimes and mysteries. They were cheaply made, roughly printed and bound. The name Pliego evokes the idea of a rough look, angular edges, informal taste, but classical look. To cover today’s needs, Pliego includes five weights with matching italics. Designed and engineered for continuous reading, the Book, Regular and Medium weights will perform at their best under 14 points. However, don’t be scared to use for headlines and titles: because of its quirky details and calligraphic flavour, Pliego’s personality is accentuated when enlarged. A page from an "ideas booklet" that was copyrighted in 1939 by the Sanford Ink Company displayed a hand lettered variation on the counter-less [or solid] alphabet that so typified the Art Deco style of the times. This type of lettering style was a workhorse, and could (and still can) tackle any message with strength, clean lines and class.

Calendula is a humanistic font with low contrast and one-sided serifs. There are eight styles: four regular of different weights from Light to Bold and corresponding italics. The main set of regular styles is close to upright italics, so the font is percieved as informal and friendly. The family of Tipografia Maracatu was born in 2020 when we could not leave the house because of the coronavirus epidemic. I had no idea how it would turn out. I just wanted to draw letters. When I finished the regular version, I thought it looked a lot like the art and music from the Northeast of Brazil, and that is why I came up with the name Maracatu. Maracatu is a musical-style original from the Northeast of Brazil. After I had the font style and the Regular version, I thought it would be nice to have Bold and Light.
