Preto Semi is an experiment. It is an attempt to create a readable type for text point sizes (other than sans-serif and serif). Preto Semi is not a Sans with added serifs or Serif with serifs removed. The use of the serifs is redefined and used for other purpose(s). The serifs became the extension of the stroke, they help to solve the spacing problem of sans-serif types and they use the primary function of serifs – keeping the eye on the baseline and emphasize the horizontal rhythm of the lines of text. Preto Semi is intended for magazines and editorial design, as other members of Preto family. Preto is an extensive type family, which explores the function of serifs on readability and legibility. Preto consist of three subfamilies: Sans, Semi and Serif. Preto is designed for multilingual typesetting. All of the subfamilies have equal gray value but different texture which can be use to differentiate languages. Preto sub-families have two text weights and two bold styles (Regular -> Bold, Medium -> Black). Every weight has a companion Italic style as well.

The inspiration source for MFC Falconer Monogram is an unusual hand-drawn design from a vintage embroidery publication which relies on rigid geometric letterforms to create an upward stepping framework. This monogram which evokes visions of it embossed or printed on antique baking tins was originally intended to adorn handkerchiefs, but the possibilities of its use are up to your imagination. I've been working on a usable sans serif for body copy since the mid-1990s (though I certainly did not know it at the time). This one works well. It started life back in the mists of time as a scan of an old German font by Carl Fahrenwaldt. It was developed fully as a synergized serif with strong traditional roots and released as Bergsland Pro. Now it finally makes it to where I was headed all along as a sans text font. This is a well modulated humanist, sans serif font family with many OpenType features and over 600 characters: Caps, lower case, small caps, ligatures, swashes, small cap figures, old style figures, numerators, denominators, accents characters, ordinal numbers, and so on. It is designed for text use in body copy. But it also works very well for elegantly stylized display.

Rock Wood is a fresh version of old western wood type. With its strong and sinuous lines it has a taste of vintage and modern at the same time.

Geiger is a geometric typeface inspired by type found in the intros of Commodore 64 games, its attention to the grid and its limited set of building blocks. The design of Geiger respects these criteria to create a sturdy alphabet without diagonals, and loosen its grip on the classic limitations to produce a complete character set worthy of today`s high-resolution displays with a retro touch. The properties of classic computing platforms, like their limited memory and low-resolution displays, required that the designers and programmers of the time devise and use certain techniques to produce interesting visual results. These platforms offered limited sets of default building blocks from which to build more complex graphics and type, and some skilled coders would work around these limitations to produce the unexpected. One of the areas that saw experimental digital type flourish is the Commodore 64 intro scene. The Geiger family includes four styles (regular, oblique, bold and bold oblique), all include common ligatures (fi, ff, ffi, fj, fl, jj, tt, Th, TT) and a few stylistic alternates (K, L). A particular attention was paid to the pattern created by the vertical stem and negative spaces of tightly set text, especially for Geiger Bold. Geiger produces good results at a size of 30pt or more, but we suggest using it at higher display sizes.

Aeris™ typeface is a contemporary book face created by the American designer Tom Grace. It combines the proportions and rhythm of a sans serif font with the high contrasts and flexed strokes of script faces, while the open counters also ensure optimal legibility. Tom Grace focuses on providing subtle differentiations in his cuts and, as a consequence, this font family has its own individual structure: there are A and B variants of the basic forms regular, italic, bold and bold italic, and a display version for use in titles that also comes in A and B variants. It is advisable to use the A variant for larger font sizes, while the slightly more emphasized B variant can be recommended for smaller font sizes. Where the basic forms are to be mixed together in a work, it is important to use the corresponding A/B variants throughout as their designs have been carefully coordinated. Aeris is available in the OpenType Pro format and thus includes a wide range of different glyphs. Sonrisa is a design that evolved from my sketches of the skeletal structure of Jakob Erbar’s Koloss, trying to discover its underlying essence without all the contrast and bulkiness of the original design. Sonrisa Thin was the resulting font, from which the other weights of the family were developed. Gentle curves, open counters, generous x-height, and sleekly tapered terminals give Sonrisa a very legible, modern, elegant appearance. When she saw the first draft of this typeface, the smile on my friend Jennifer’s face gave me the idea to call it “Sonrisa” (Spanish for “smile”). Jennifer, a clinical psychologist, described Sonrisa’s personality as: "happy, clean, clear, open, joyful, spacious, playful, calm. I can see it being used for body product lines such as oils and lotions. Can see it being used in home/travel magazines or even Architectural Digest. Yoga magazine, definitely." Sonrisa is what some foundries call a “Pro” typeface family with all the bells and whistles that provide typographic versatility: true small caps, oldstyle numerals, arbitrary fractions, discretionary ligatures, and other powerful OpenType features. All fonts in the family, except Sonrisa Titling, support most European languages, including modern Greek and languages that use the Cyrillic Alphabet.
