I have always enjoyed this typeface and have had fond memories from the time I originally drew its predecessor, Kari. Now with almost 100 new ligatures, alternate and swash characters, Kari Pro has a great deal more personality and versatility. Subsets from the original Kari have been integrated into each unified weight adding both lining and hanging (oldstyle) numerals as options as well.

This quirky little number is based on a typeface originally named Turtle, which made a very brief appearance in Letraset's product line catalog in the 1970s. Admittedly, its uses are limited, but its cryptic and playful nature will reward those with imagination. Both versions of this font include the complete Latin 1252, Central European 1250 and Turkish 1254 character sets.

This hefty little number is an amalgam of two typefaces from the Flower Power era, Dave West’s Elephant Gothic and Wayne Stettler’s Neil Bold. It’s an extrabold, sassy headline face that will get your message across, loud and clear. Tourist Gothic is a Lanston Monotype adaptation of Modern Condensed Gothic (a design from the late 1800s.) Rounded alternate caps were designed by Sol Hess in 1928. The alternate version is offered as LTC Tourist Gothic Alt. Tourist Gothic Pro combines both variations and includes a full Central European character set and several other OpenType features. Digitized in 2006 by Paul Hunt.

Presenting a decorative liquid font Plop. It's a splashing funny typeface perfect for authentique lettering composition. To use a bigger splash letter just type a capital letter. The Art Deco hand lettered opening credits for the 1936 French drama “La Belle Équipe” [English title: “They Were Five”] provided the inspiration for Foreign Film JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions. According to Wikipedia, the film “…tells the story of five unemployed workers who win the jackpot in the national lottery but their solidarity then proves fragile.”

The unusually-shaped hand lettering of Penny Wise JNL was modeled from the cover of the 1936 sheet music for "You Dropped Me Like a Red Hot Penny", and is available in both regular and oblique versions. Although it was drawn during the Art Deco period, this type of lettering design style was revived during the Hippie movement of the 1960s and 1970s.

Extrabold and exuberant caps from a blackletter face rendered by Ross George in his perennial Speedball Text Book have been combined with a more restrained and traditional lowercase to create a unique and striking typeface that will definitely get noticed. This no-nonsense titling face is based on a Morris Fuller Benton 1934 offering for American Type Founders called, simply, Poster Gothic. No secret here: this typeface was inspired by the opening credits for the television series "Justified." Alternate upper and lowercase letter to achieve the effect, or—in OpenType-savvy programs—activate the Contextual Alternates (calt) feature. Thin numbers can be found in these positions: ~^{}[]|\<>. The 1935 catalog for Vitrolite (a brand of pigmented structural glass) featured artist renderings of how the glass could be applied to business exteriors. One of the lettering styles used in these examples was an Art Deco lower case. This design has been turned into a digital typeface called Retail Establishment JNL and is available in both regular and oblique versions.

This font started life in 1893 at the Boston Type Foundry, but was also cast at the Central Type Foundry. Both were members of the ATF combine formed in 1892. Like so many interesting fonts of its day, it was issued without a lowercase, limiting its use to display headlines. Sometime in the early 1990s, we designed a lowercase to go with it.

An unnamed alphabet from wacko lettering artist Otto Heim’s 1925 opus, Farbige Alphabete, provided the pattern for this delightful, if slightly deranged, typeface. The first in a series of typefaces based on the work of legendary lettering artist Alf Becker, whose works appeared in Signs of the Times magazine for almost thirty years. Originally titled "Extreme Thin Gothic", this was Becker’s 185th design for the magazine. Unnerving JNL is a distorted/distressed version of Adhesive Serif Letters JNL (of which the original design was modeled after some vintage gummed letters used for signage). Comixed RP Bold and Comixed RP Bold Outline are two new fonts designed by British designer Roy Preston and released by BluHead Studio, LLC. Comixed is a bold, condensed cap-only typeface, with a lively, animated charm. The Outline version turns up the fun factor by adding a drop shadow. Used alone or together, both are great for snappy, eye-catching headlines!

Index is a sans serif font which gives an impression of both movement and harmony. The soft, round forms of this font give it an almost ornamental feel. The influence of American advertisement and poster typefaces of the turn of the 20th century is apparent. Index can be used as a headline or text font in small or larger point sizes.

Here's a faithful rendering of a typeface originally named Octic, from the 1884 specimen book of the Palmer & Rey Type Foundry of San Francisco. Its geometric severity is softened by the gently scalloped "bites" taken out of the corner. Sets tight to make attention-getting headlines. The hand lettered title on the cover of the 1938 sheet music for “If It Rains – Who Cares” featured a condensed Art Deco typeface made with a round nib pen. The square shaped characters with rounded corners were a perfect subject for a digital font revival, and are now available as Dip Pen Deco JNL, in both regular and oblique versions.

The inspiration for this typeface—originally called Elefanta—enjoyed popularity stateside in the late nineteenth century, an import from the Karl Brendler & Söhne foundry of Vienna. Its graceful yet playful elegance makes it suited for a wide range of projects where projecting warmth is desirable. Luxury Home is a slab serif typeface of 9 weights from Extra Light to Extra Black and can be used as both a headline and text face. "Luxury Home" is recommended for using in long-form writing and articles, since a serif is far more readable for longer passages of text. A playful, casual take on round nib pen lettering was spotted amongst some online scans from an old lettering book. The free-form and stylized shapes of the letters and numbers are reminiscent of old-time show cards, movie titles and signage in vogue around the early 1900s through the 1920s. It exhibits the cleanness and crispness one might expect in a sans-serif face, along with a few unexpected grace notes that make it warm and friendly, as well. A classic typeface with timeless appeal, based on the venerable Weiss Initials II, designed by Eric Rudolf Weiss for Bauersche Gießerei in 1931. Essentially a monocase font, this version also includes variants located at lowercase a, e and g. Murbia was written with a glimmer-pen which has left the letters with a grungy look. What's even better is that the font comes with loads of ligatures for both double letters/numbers and the most common letter combinations...just to make the font look more like real scribbled handwriting! You will need to use OpenType supporting applications to use the autoligatures.

Show Card Deco JNL is a hybrid of examples from hand lettered titles found on various song folios from the Carl Fischer Music Library circa the 1930s and is available in both regular and oblique versions. This particular typeface lends itself perfectly to show cards, posters, headlines and display titling which captures the modern, streamlined design of the Art Deco era.

Steve Jackaman & Ashley Muir. Packard Old Style is based on lettering drawn by Oswald Cooper for the Packard Motor Company (ATF 1913). The bold weight is credited to Morris Fuller Benton (ATF 1916), but it is highly probable that Benton did the adaptation for both weights. Packard Old Style Pro contains all the high-end features expected in a quality OpenType Pro font.
